I have a search form on my joomla site and it only gives live search suggestions, if asterisk (*) sign is present in the bottom of the query, so can you help me with the code, that I must add to this form, so it will add this * automatically and it would be perfect, if this asterisk was hidden (maybe just white color or something)?
View 9 RepliesI've done a search for this because I'm certain I'm not the first to have this problem, but I could not find the solutions. I am marginally experienced with PHP but have no knowledge of javascript. This is for a scheduling program. Prior to generating the form, the question is asked as to how many days are needed, and the form automatically generates the appropriate # of fields. They are, for this example, as follows:
Day 1, Title 1, Description 1
Day 2, Title 2, Description 2
Day 3, Title 3, Description 3
Day 4, Title 4, Description 4
I would like to add a checkbox (entitled "Same as Previous Day") that allows the user to duplicate the previous entry, populate the fields so the database is properly filled, and make the fields it just populated uneditable. So for the example, if day 2 and 3 were the same as day 1, I could select a box for each day 2 and day 3 and their titles and descriptions would be filled with the information from Day 1.
I have learned a good bit of PHP and have implemented it for use in my work as a math tutor.My kids are telling me, however, that it is too inconvenient to hit tab or click on the next text box and would prefer to use the old style pencil and paper.I thought of a good idea: Javascript would be able to automatically focus the curser on the next text box if some condition was met.For example: 6+7. If the textbox reads 13, it will focus on the next text box. Otherwise, nothing happens. This kills three birds with one stone; the user will know if they got the question right or wrong and it will move automatically if they got it correct.The problem is I lack any real JavaScript wisdom. I would guess this would be quite simple. The closest thing I have found upon searching was this from the user requestcode, but this has to do with once the user has typed in 4 characters it moves automatically.

[code]....We have a set list of shows that air each day, and on the site we have a marquee tag on the homepage that scrolls through showing each show and its broadcast time. Right now we're stuck changing this schedule each day by hand, but it's tough considering we're all college students ourselves and sometimes our own schedules simply don't allow the time.Is there a code that would allow this kind of a daily update to happen automatically?

I have a form with an action attribute to where to send data, some hidden fields and some radio buttons with default values, a submit button at the bottom, and a javascript timer that starts on the body onLoad event. The trick is that when the timer runs out, I want the form automatically submitted.
I have 3 divs (boxes) next to each other, I can input text via a textarea to each. I need all 3 to resize - be the same size on text overflow - so if box a gets 100 lines of code and resizes, the other 2 should follow. I have written this js, and added it to the button which moves the text to the boxes (to the onclick)

On my site, I would like to have jQuery automatically convert all plain-text URLs to links. For example, if I have the following in the BODY tag of my Web page: Go to [URL]to go to the Google Groups home page. I want it to be converted in to this: Go to <a href="http://groups.google.com">http://groups.google.com</a> to go to the Google Groups home page. I'm sure the prepend() and append() functions will be used, but how do I tell jQuery how to pick URLs out of the Web page, if they are not surrounded by separate tags? I'm sure if each URL was in a SPAN tag it would be much easier.

I have asked my kids for feedback and they are telling me that it is inconvenient to hit tab to go to the next text box (They have small arms/fingers..)I then thought of a brilliant ideaLet�s say it was 12 divided by 3. If they wrote a 4 in the input area, the JavaScript would recognize the correct answer and automatically move to the next box. As the user fills out a pair of fields, it adds another pair of blank fields. This way, the user can fill out as many as their heart desires, but those who don't have that much information to provide, aren't confronted with an unnecessarily huge form of blank fields.

Now, The only thing is some of the non-required fields are filled in and some people don't fill them in, so when I import it into excel, the fields move about. What I need to know, is there a condition I can set to have a value written into all the empty fields when it is submitted?

1- Need to display three values on the screen as the user fills a form: total, required deposit and final balance. I managed to display the total but I can�t make the form to show automatically the two other values (deposit, final balance) unless I ask the user to click on buttons, which is not desirable since $ does not change automatically for deposit and final payment if user clicks on another radio button before sending the form.

There are many ways for setting focus on form fields. I'm actually looking for some code that automatically detects if there is any form on the page & then automatically sets the focus to the first field of the form.

I need a solution for the following:
Visitors can come to my site through a referrer for ex: [url]
The referrers information (cesar017) should be prefilled automatically in a form field on another page than the index page. This means the visitor first can look around on the other pages of the site and then go to the page with the form.
I dont use a database at this moment, I only want a certain field automatically prefilled with the referrers info from the URL for ex : <input type= hidden -or text- name= partner id= partner value= ""/> In this case the field should have the value=cesar017
I understood this can be solved with Javascript or PHP and cookies, but I nearly dont know anything about this and Dreamweaver has not automated this function.
I'm using an intermediate page to break up some data and assign it new names. What I then want to do is pass them onto to the next page. I created a web form already where instead of doing it on paper, we can fill it out online and it'll send it via email. My boss now wants me to figure out a way to automatically populate the form with the information the computer should know. I think I can do the IP Address in the ASP we have on there, but I think I need something client side to do the other things. I guess my first question is if this is even possible using javascript?
