I have a database that shows about 5 to 10 recorrds on a page that contain forms for the user to fill out. The number of rows is unknown and depends on the user query.On the page there can be 2 or 10 records displayed ..each containing a form that needs to be validated.How can i use that. The IDs of the elements would have to be generated dynamicly i suppose. Anyone of you got an idea how to do that ?
I am rather new to JQuery and would like to use it with php. I ran into problems when my html is not static, I generate php forms on the fly using my php script and JQuery just doesn't seem to validate those forms. When put the same form in static html file JQuery works like a charm. What could be wrong? Does JQuery need a page to be static? Right after I load my php page firebug reports that $(document).ready(function() { is not a function and JQuery is not defined. I have loaded the necessary JQuery libraries.
I am using the JQuery validation plug in for form validations. My page contains a loop in which dynamic forms are generated and within each form some text fields are also dynamically generated. I have assigned the id and name attributes both to form and fields with dynamically appending a value. Now I want to apply the validation on all these form, please note that each form contains its own submit button. I have tried using the following selector,
I have a link here http://183.78.169.54/v3/addCVC.php. First if you select the name T1 via ajax the second drop down list is populated. Then pick anyvalue from the second drop down list and your will get a table populated below it. Then finally when you press submit button I call the validation function. In there I got this little codes.The alert keep showing me null even though the table is generated with its relevant values too. What is the problem ya?
Code: var table = document.getElementById("listOfCorrection"); //var checkbox = table.getElementsByTagName("input"); alert("tableContent:"+table);
i am having issue capturing the value of the selected DDL using IE. the code below works just fine in Firefox...
// Create a new drop down list -- for text box use 'input' instead of 'select' var newDDL = document.createElement('select'); // size lenght of the DDL for both IE or Firefox
i am creating dynamic textboxes where the user has to choose a date.I have my calendar.js file that i usually call to popup a calendar when using static textboxes...my question is how can use it with dynamic textboxes ?Below is a portion of my code that create my dynamic textbox
I have 9 select boxes on my page containing lots of subcategories for businesses.I require the user to select an option from only 1 of the 9 selects. To make the user experience better I hide all of the select boxes with CSS and generate a dynamic select box of categories. When a category is selected from the generated dropdown, the subcategories select box which is hidden by CSS is displayed. I am trying to apply a few validation rules to both select boxes and have a few rules I need to follow:

I have to validate this stupid form as well as check to see if there is cookies and add them if they haven't. I know most of you probably are pros at this! So I am requesting some assistance. Please see the code attached, let me know what to do. As well I can't get something that will work with my radio buttons to validate as well as cookies. Code:
In another thread I found that a good way to show and hide parts of a form based on previous entries would be as follows: function showhidefield (method) { var hideablearea = document.getElementById("hideablearea"); var hideablearea2 = document.getElementById("hideablearea2"); var hideablearea3 = document.getElementById("hideablearea3");
I know how to use javascript to validate that the forms are infact filled but how do I make it so that it doesn't scan the hidden forms. The only way I could think of would be a huge bunch of if statements. Is there any other way to do this?
I'm trying to pass multiple dynamic values between a slaveform and a masterform. The problem I'm having is on the slaveform I loop through multiple records and want two values depending on the row they select....
I am trying to figure out how to dynamically show/hide certain form elements based on the selection from the drop down list.My form is defined like so[code]...
I'm currently working on a website called 'eXtreme Gaming' I've almost completed it, apart from two things.
- Adding two values on my checkout page for the Grandtotal (I've tried everything, but I'm too much of a noob and have probably missed something small).
- Validation of forms (I don't know where to start here, I've looked on w3schools for tuts etc but I'm having difficulty incorporating it on my site)
I have a php page with java script embed in it, i have 3 forms in a single page ... namely form1, form2, form3 . form 1 and form2 have a text box , these text boxes get input from users. Now my task is to get the value of these 2 tex boxes in form3 when the user click the submit button, so that i pass the values in those text boxes to next page for calculation.
I tried the following code in form3 but it result in vain :
I'm brand new to jQuery, and I am really interested in learning about it because of the potential it offers to enhance my webpages. To give you some background, I am self-taught in PHP and MySQL...not on a master's level, but I have designed and built database-driven sites with success and am confident that I can learn jQuery if only I could get pointed in the right direction. I have perused tutorials, links, forums and recently bought the jQuery Cookbook (I needed SOMETHING to go on and it was one of the few jQuery books at the local bookstore that felt as though it would be of help). My problem is, I am finding gaps in information that, to me, are critical to learning. I am looking for a nut-and-bolt approach, 'Do this, then do that' not the typical generalizations I keep encountering.
All I want to do to start with is to remotely validate a two-item form, you guessed it, username and email, against the contents of my database (the info for the validation plugins is just as vague and general). That's it. But the tutorials and examples are vague to me, and in one instance, a link was posted offering to display the server-side validation code used and the link was dead. I can't be the only person here who is stonewalled by these thoughtful, yet overly-general tutorials and books. if any of you have suggestions where I can find a concise, true step-by-step tutorial or book, I would love to know. Right now, it's just one frustrating day of research after another.
I have built out a fairly rhobust app using jquery and jquery-ui all was going well until we started to bring different screens together inside a tabbed interface. Seems that now when we execute our validation code on one form its checking the fields of all other forms on the page.All of my forms do have unique ID's and all elements within all forms have unique ID's.My understanding of using this.find inside of the submit event was that it should only find the forms elements am I wrong? Method that performs the actual validation:
function validateForm(event){ var allOk = true; $(this).find("*[validation]").each(function(){[code]....
JQuery newbie question re using validation plugin with Django newform.I have a simple email feedback contact django form that I wanted toenhance with some JQuery validation. I created a standalone (NonDjango) version of the form and it works correctly.However when I create a Django version of the form the validationrules seems to be ignored and the form is always posted - I wouldexpect the form to fail, and never post. One difference (not sure ifit's siignificant) is that the Django forms are created from classes/templates and render as tables. However the exact same HTML code worksfor the basic form.I'm now thinking that there must be something different re how thesubmit is being processed for the Django form - but I'm stumped.
I've used the excellent validate plugin (http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-validation/) to add JS validation to forms. I'm aware there's a built-in setting to validate an email address. However, I'd like to validate a list of email addresses, and I don't think the plugin contains a built-in solution. What's the best way to implement this?
I know that Javascript is client side, but I'd like to know the best way to populate HTML drop downs in real time based on information typed in the other HTML form fields with information found on the server as opposed to the client.For instance if a user wants to select certain files located in a directory on the server, as they type in the pathname supposedly containing the files the drop downs continually refresh themselves with the server files listed in that directory (if it exists, and apache has permissions to see what's inside) as if it was showing client files instead.
What would be nice is if my browser could continually query the server for some of its private information and not have to refresh itself to obtain it, whether that means the server-side would have to continually refresh itself makes no difference to me as long as the client-side doesn't have to. But I guess this is not possible because no matter what you would have to at least refresh the client-side page once?Submitting the form to a CGI or PHP script would not work because I need this functionality to help populate the form BEFORE I send it.I would like to not have to press a button to update the form every time I change the pathname and need to update the drop downs since this would be annoying.
I will like to know if there is anyway to view all the rules that I have currently in the Jquery validation plugin. Currently, I am trying to add in rules dynamically through the rules(add) function after adding some dynamic fields through the user inputs. the rules are added in this manner.
I'm trying to create a dynamic form, and for the most part it's working out fine.I'm using javascript with onclick and onchange on checkboxes and select boxes to change the form as the user makes selections.However, there's a few issues I'm running into that are giving me problems.
One is that when the user reloads the page, all of the javascript inserted or removed form elements are reset, but the choices on the checkboxes and select boxes aren't, which looks very strange to the user. How can I avoid this? I'm currently including scripts tags in the body of the html, but this is pretty messy and hard to manage. Is there a better way? Second is that I'd like to be able to insert javascript function declarations into text that is dynamically inserted by javascript.However, when I do so, the browser does not recognize the functions. The reason I'd like to do so is that I am using Ruby on Rails, and would like to be able to keep the scripts in the partials to which they relate. I have to use inline javascript, because the scripts are having element ids inserted based on Ruby variables. Is this a lost cause, or is there a technique that enables dynamically inserted javascript to be loaded?
Lastly, my dynamic form's javascript shows or hides portions based on what it encounters while loading. The main reason is that I want to show the whole form for users without javascript, and then hide advanced or obscure details unless they are activated with a checkbox on the form for users with javascript. However, this is creating a jarring pop-in effect, where on first load, the pre-javascript formatted page is shown for a split second, and then the javascript kicks in and fixes everything and the page visibly jumps and changes. Is there a way to avoid this to create a more polished effect?
I have a page generate by ASP and I want to validate the form value. Generated page by ASP :
<form method=post action="<%=strPrgName%>" name="OrderForm"> <% for i = 1 to itemcount %> Name : <input name=toname<%=i%> onBlur="validateName(this)"> <% next %> <input type=submit value="View">
For example itemcount = 2, html code will be like this : <form method=post action="<%=strPrgName%>" name="OrderForm"> Name : <input name=toname1 onBlur="validateName(this)"> Name : <input name=toname2 onBlur="validateName(this)"> <input type=submit value="View">
Javascript : <script language="JavaScript"> function validateName(field) { var val = field.value; if(!/[a-z]/.test(val)||val=="") { alert("Format name wrong !"); field.focus(); field.select(); } } </script>
I got this script and modify it, the original code for validating number only. My need is this script validate the form to check if input only alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, "," and ".").
Here is my code for a table the "Add" button adds a dynamic row into the table. I need to do a client side validation for the table so tht all the text boxes and the selection boxes shall have a value entered or selected. None should be left epty as well atleast one row of the table shall be complete.
is there a way to ask if the #FORM.fieldname# exist to proceed with the next one ? FYI : StartDateName22 is a dynamic generated textbox i am using the following code :
<cfif not isDefined (#FORM.StartDateName22#) or #FORM.StartDateName22# or EQ "" > <cfoutput> Elemnt 2,2 is not defined </cfoutput> <cfelse> <cfoutput> [Code]...
