JQuery :: Validation Of Generated Select Box?

I have 9 select boxes on my page containing lots of subcategories for businesses.I require the user to select an option from only 1 of the 9 selects. To make the user experience better I hide all of the select boxes with CSS and generate a dynamic select box of categories. When a category is selected from the generated dropdown, the subcategories select box which is hidden by CSS is displayed. I am trying to apply a few validation rules to both select boxes and have a few rules I need to follow:

I have a link here http://183.78.169.54/v3/addCVC.php. First if you select the name T1 via ajax the second drop down list is populated. Then pick anyvalue from the second drop down list and your will get a table populated below it. Then finally when you press submit button I call the validation function. In there I got this little codes.The alert keep showing me null even though the table is generated with its relevant values too. What is the problem ya?

I have a database that shows about 5 to 10 recorrds on a page that contain forms for the user to fill out. The number of rows is unknown and depends on the user query.On the page there can be 2 or 10 records displayed ..each containing a form that needs to be validated.How can i use that. The IDs of the elements would have to be generated dynamicly i suppose. Anyone of you got an idea how to do that ?

I have a large form. One part of it is a column with selects. All drop-downs initially set to "No". The only other option is "yes". I need to make sure that at least one select is set to "yes". Any number, even all of them can be changed to "yes", but only one is required. I can easily add a rule that requires all the fields of the certain class to have certain type of value, but can't think of a way in js to only have one required. I can easily count number of "yes" values with PHP and prevent submitting on the back end, but would really like to have jquery do it first.

I have a select list #technology. Due to some back end processing it's default value is "0" (Please Select) I am trying to write a validation rule to make it required. The problem I'm having is that if you hit submit when it shows "Please Select" which has the value="0" then make a different selection it's not removing the error msg. Also if you hit submit multiple times when it is showing Please Select it just keeps adding the error msg

I'm would like to add a light box to a site that has content generated by php. Basically it is a property site and will have a thumbnail image and description. When the user clicks on thumbnail I would like to display a gallery of pictures relevant to the property. Each property will be generated dynamically by php. My question is how do I enter the selector for the gallery into jquery. I am thinking of using Fancy Zoom as you can use hidden elements, as the gallery will be hidden.

Hey, I've been messing about with this Javascript select box validation and I can't get it to work.
At the moment all I want to do is alert the selectIndex value of the select box.

Is it possible to check an option/select box to see if it still has data in it? I'd like to be able to stop a user from updating a file IF the field they are copying from still has content in it. I.e.

So the button will display an error message (e.g. you aint sent the entire lot over)
I've tried to attempt it but my mind cannot really handle anything more than (Check kettle for water, IF water equal or less than 1 cup full, then fill kettle with water, If kettle equal to or greater than 3 then STOP).

I have a form and I have gotten all of my error checking to work except for this. I use an <select><option> list for a states dropdown. the 1st option is blank <option></option> I have not been able to successfully check for errors (no option selected) it either always gives and error using if(state==null), or never gives an error state=="" or " " this is the only dropdown on this form so I didnt notice the problem until I had gone through all the more difficult error checking, and somehow I cant get this one seemingly simple thing figured out

I've seen a variety of implementations around that enable selecting all or no checkboxes by using a checkbox to toggle that choice. However, I'm trying to find a way like this: I have two text links on my page: Select All, and Select None. How can I get those links to call a jquery function to select all or select no checkboxes in my form? As a little food for thought:

I have a form with multiple fieldsets which are visible conditionally. There are three submit buttons "Abandon", "Save" and "Save & Continue". Each button should validate specific controls of the form and submit it. I tried setting "onsubmit: false" and checking for "$('#myForm').valid ()" on click of these buttons., but that validates all controls of the form.

I have a formdivided into 2 fieldsets (see the image) : MASTER and DETAIL. When I press Add in the DETAIL fieldset a new item is added to an array where I store temporarly the data entered trough the DETAIL inputs and finally when I press save I send both the MASTER and DETAIL (the temporary array shown in the html table) data to the server. As you may have already noticed, I need to validate both MASTER an DETAIL, but I don't want the Save button to fire the DETAIL validation or the Add link to fire the MASTER validation. I've been googling for a while and though I couldn't find exactly what I've been looking for, I found that it's possible to add/remove a class (e.g, required, number); that gave me some ideas on how to simulate validation groups and here's the code:

Although this code allow me to stop the MASTER validation from firing when I press Add( and DETAIL validation when I click Save), I still can't manage to insert a new DETAIL if only if all of the inputs in the DETAIL fieldset are valid and, what's more I don't want the Add link to cause a form submission.

I am using the jquery validation plugin to validate a form's email address field. The validation works but with the minor exception that when trailing whitespace is entered after the email the validation fails. I'm not sure if this is because of the regexp or a missing trim.

I'm using the Validation plugin for JQuery and was wondering if there was a function to submit the form without causing it to validate the form. I have a table with a list of radio-buttons and above that is a drop down list of states. The drop down list of states is used to filter the table rows and when the selected item changes it posts-back to the server (via $("#frm").submit()). I don't want this to cause any validation to occur. Is there another function I can call besides submit(), or some other method?

I'm using the validation plugin available here and seem to be encountering trouble in IE7. The validation is not occuring and my forms submit. Not what I want.The functions below are working fine in FF3, Opera 9.0, Chrome, & Safari.I'm going to guess this is a result of some misplaced character or ...??? Maybe a second set of eyes will spot the error.

I've put together a pretty simple competition script - it's commented out below and you can find the demo at [URL] (you'll find the code at the bottom of the page) I am using a jquery plugin to achieve the validation: [URL] The problem is only in Firefox (3.5.2) - the form submits without any validation at all, and ignores the ajax. IE8 & 7 seem to be fine. I'm not really sure why Firefox is submitting the page with Refresh but IE isn't, I've looked over and over the code and can't find the error. Firebug is only finding errors in the jQuery library itself.

I'm new to the forums, yet not new to jQuery. Still, I never had to get properties from objects generated on-the-fly, till now. I have a pager generated by cycle plugin, for each slide, a button is created, and the container of those buttons is enlarged. The amount of slides is determined by the user, so can't specify a default or maximum width. When I examine the object with firebug, I get the full width, including the generated pager buttons. But my script keeps on getting 0 as width, which is the width of the element when the page loads.
Anyway, is there a way around this? In case I haven't explained myself well, say it and maybe I can paste the code.
