JQuery :: Form Plugin With Multiple Submit Buttons?

Oct 2, 2009

I have a form with several submit buttons. I've used $(#myform).ajaxForm(options) method to make the form submittable with ajax. the problem is that no matter what button I click the form data is the same and <input type="submit"> element is not included into the form data, as if it were not a "successul control". so at this point form doesn't work as expected. is there a way to convey information of which button was clicked with the form plugin?

Multiple Form Submit Buttons?

Jul 10, 2009

I am trying to add an additional submit button to a form that has a separate action. This is for a shopping cart. The button I am trying to add is a "Preview" button. Which will have a different action then the "Add to Cart" button. Right now it works but after the "Preview" button is clicked the "Add to Cart" button will use the action that the "Preview" button is using. This is the script I am using for the "Preview" button.

var productPreviewForm = new VarienForm('product_addtocart_form');

JQuery :: Form Plugin Submit To Multiple Sites

Oct 5, 2010

I'm currently trying to use the jQuery Form Plugin to submit my form containing a file to upload and some other data to my 5 other servers.I'm using a php file with the following code to submit the form. It is working on every server and the file is getting uploaded correctly by the jsp usually.There are times when it will fail and maybe only the 1st and 5th will have the file. I'm thinking that maybe this is a syncing issue? Something to do with them all being called right away? Would there be any way to call them one after another as in letting the first one finish before submitting to the second?[code]

Validation Problem With Multiple Submit Buttons

Sep 14, 2005

I have a form with several fields.

Each field can be modified:

- individually (one submit button next to the field)
- globally (a submit button at the end of the form).

Before submitting the form, a validation needs to be performed.... so I added: onSubmit="return isValid()".

If the validation does not pass, the form needs to be shown with the data previously entered by the user.

Now, I haven't even come to the previous problem I have mentioned..... my problem is that if a field is empty, the function isValid() recognize it (message sent) .... but the reDirect function is performed!

Multiple Submit Buttons: Can I Control Which Values Will Be Submited?

Mar 29, 2006

I have a complicated page with several submit buttons. I don't want to
create multiple forms because much of the input is shared and the code
is getting very ugly. However I would like to determine which values
will be submited.

Here is a simplified example that may better illustrate my question.
Or maybe there is a better approach...

<SCRIPT language="JavaScript">
function submitform1()
{
document.myform.submit();
}

function submitform2()
{
// logic to submit only name parameter
document.myform.submit();
}

function submitform3()
{
// logic to submit only address parameter
document.myform.submit();
}
</SCRIPT>

<form name="myform" action="#">
<TABLE>
<TR><TD>Name</TD><TD><input type='text' name='Name'></TD></TR>
<TR><TD>Address</TD><TD><input type='text' name='Address'></TD></TR>
<TR><TD>Phone</TD><TD><input type='text' name='Phone'></TD></TR>
<TR><TD></TD><td><input type="button" onClick="submitform1()"
value="submit all variables"> </TD></TR>
<TR><TD></TD><td><input type="button" onClick="submitform2()"
value="submit just name"> </TD></TR>
<TR><TD></TD><td><input type="button" onClick="submitform3()"
value="submit just address"> </TD></TR>
</TABLE>

JQuery :: Malsup's Form Plugin - Submit Only PART Of A Form?

Aug 24, 2010

Malsup's most excellent and comprehensive Form plugin has me completely stuck on just one thing.Take a look at this: http:[url]....At the bottom are a variety of submit buttons, and when you click one, it knows which one has been clicked.And I've been through the js and the source and the examples and I can't figure out how the bleep it's done!I'll tell you why I'm asking, then perhaps you can probably tell me I'm doing it wrong anyway!Let's say a blind person logs in, and want to edit their presets.I don't want the form to be too complex or clever or ajaxy, as screenreaders don't like that, so it just iterates through as many presets as they have, and populates a form with edit boxes.But there's no point "pushing back" 29 unchanged items just to edit one row.

So my idea was I'd just "fieldSerialize()" the details of the row that was currently being edited and submit that to my little php routine that updates the db. Then they can do a refresh just to hear the list again.The js looks like:

$(document).ready(function() {
$('#myForm').ajaxForm(function() {
var queryString = $('#myForm').formSerialize(); [code]....

All works fine like that. But if I change line 3 to: var queryString = $('#myForm :button').fieldSerialize(); it doesn't work. I've also tried:

'#myForm :button'
'#myForm .button'
':button'[code]....

Maybe I should just generate as many separate forms as there are presets, but then I'm going to need as many ready(function)'s as there are rows, which is going to be very messy.

Form Focus With Two Submit-Buttons

Jul 20, 2005

i have a form with two buttons to submit it. One button (must be left) goes to a detail-page and the second button (must be right) goes to a basket-page. Also there is a input-field.

My problem: onLoad i give focus to the input-field. But when user submits the form with return, the first button ("show details") is executed, and you see the detail-page.
But i want to give focus to the ("into basket") button, but it comes after
the detail-button in source.

I cant change the buttons because it's not allowed by the designer :-(
Also on load of that page, the border of the first submit button is more
thick (i think 2 px) than the second (maybe 1px). How can i submit to basket, with the return-key and give them the same look?

Submit Form 2 Buttons (one Without Validation)?

Sep 21, 2010

What I would like to do is have 2 buttons to submit a single form. One button is to save the form for editing later the other is to process it.With...

$("#saveform_ns").click(function(){
$('form#form_main').attr({action:"http://path/to/save.php"});
$('form#form_main').submit(); })

I can get the submit button to work and the above button to work.The issue I am having is that I have jquery validation in the form and whenever I hit the SAVE button it wants to validate the form (which I dont want it to as I want it to save at any point in the form). Does anyone know of a quick way to bypass validation code in jquery. Say with using an ajax call and form submit or someway to say if the SAVE button is clicked ignore the validation plugin.
