My page populates a table with a list of names and other information from a
JavaScript object. I receive changes (adds, change & delete) to that list,
convert it into a JavaScript object. I do understand how to add the new
names to the list.
I have 3 questions:
1) How can I search through the table rows to find the rows to be changed
or removed?
2) How can I resort the table, so the names continue to appear in
alphabetical order.
3) How can change or remove data in the cells, once I've found the
appropriate row?

ok basically i want to move two rows in a table.
for example i have the table:
1 name1 address1
2 name2 address2
3 name3 address3
4 name4 address4
and i'd like a javascript function to which i could pass a line number, a destination number, and it would then reorganize the table accordingly.
example: rebuildtable(4,2) would result in:
1 name1 address1
4 name4 address4
2 name2 address2
3 name3 address3
and rebuildtable(1,4) in:
2 name2 address2
3 name3 address3
4 name4 address4
1 name1 address1
I have tried a method using innerHTML, I seem to be able to access <tr>s' innerhtml (if i do an alert on them i can see their current status), however when i want to replace one tr with some other html it fails for some reason.

I want to make it that when moderator or admin is selected, a new table row appears under it showing options for the users permissions. Also, the PHP script for adding users checks the information for errors. If there are errors, it will display them. All of the form info is posted to the error page. Therefore if moderator or admin is selected, the permissions need to come up as well.

So there would be 3 numbers total the user must input. The script should present a 'warning' message if the user inputs letters or negative numbers. I have come very close to getting it too work but can't quite get past the last hurdle. Upon entering the 3 numbers, the output should look similar to this: (the 5 times table starting with 1 and ending with 12)

The table cells can be any width depending on the search results. I think a copy of the table header needs to be made and this would then float at the top of the page staying at the top no matter how far the user scrolls down, so that it's position would depend on the scroll bar position.
I have created a table that allows the user to edit specific cells by clicking on them. Their new entered values set the value on the table. They then should be able to submit a form which sets several hidden inputs equal to the values in the table then passing the information to a php page to process. The code to clear the text boxes and selection boxes work great. The code to clear the text from the table cells that do not have a form element do not work at all. The .Client and .Project cells that I want to clear are populated by an ajax call and the .total cell is populated by a function that sums the values the text boxes.

some new pages.
In one page we have a table with many rows. Now, I want to enable or
disable(showing and hiding also) 2 rows of this table depending upon
the value selected by the user from a drop down list.
What I want is a piece of code that reads a table and inserts new entries into a listbox on the user side. I dont want to have to "refresh" the page to get new entries into the listbox.Essentially, the table will get updated by an app on one side and I want users to be able to view the updates as they occur.
