What I want is a piece of code that reads a table and inserts new entries into a listbox on the user side. I dont want to have to "refresh" the page to get new entries into the listbox.Essentially, the table will get updated by an app on one side and I want users to be able to view the updates as they occur.

And when it is not filled in, the border of the textboxes and dropdownlist would turn red, followed by an alert message notifying which field have not been filled in.Else, the border will revert back to black, and the form will be submitted successfully. Right now, I would like to prevent the user from entering blanks (like entering a space to cheat the system). How should I tweak the codes to make it work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm busy creating a website and I've implemented a gallery of sorts using this script below to make it move the images, however when it gets to the end of the cycle of images it reads the last image as the last one to reach the left hand side which is obviously quite unattractive. So all I would like to know is if there is someone who can alter this code to make it so the last image is read on the right of the block thus resulting in no blank blocks. I have an ASP.net page where I load a record set server side and upload it into a listbox. I'm trying to do all the movement functionalities of the listbox items client side. Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to copy selected listbox items from one listbox to another -- on button click. I've searched for a while, but every example that I found moves the actual item into another listbox, I just want to copy the selected item to another listbox.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a form which goes to my insert page which inserts the data into the table. Except I didn't want to do a redirect to another page so I thought I would do an Ajax call. Both pages work until I change it to an ajax call.
I am pretty certain that it is because I took out the <form action="insert.php"> because otherwise the page would redirect but if that is the case I don't know my way around it and if it isn't the problem I'm not sure what is.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the following PHP code, which uses server-side validation, which works fine. It the user leaves the text field empty it stores an error in a session array which is outputted on the page where the $_GET['id'] variable came from. I also implemented a snippet of javascript code that just checks to see if the cell is empty and throws up alert box. The problem is that both the javascript code and php error validation are both running when I click submit. The PHP code should be a backup to the javascript code in case the user has javascript turned off. The client-side validation should be the default. Not sure if this change should be made in my PHP Code or Javascript Code.

I have one html-file where the user inserts a search path for an excel file. When the user clicks the button the data in the excel file should be presented in a <TABLE>. (Yeah, I know, activex only works in IE .. but that's good enough for this project)
The problem is .. I started out with a "fixed" search path for the excel file, so I didn't have the code in a function. That worked just fine. Once I added the function {} around the code it wouldn't work, it works just fine if I comment out the form-part and the function-part, and give the search path, of course.
It also works just fine if I use the function and form, but remove the <TABLE>- and <TR>-rows

There are only 2 option values in the sParent listbox and they are vParent and vChild. If the user chooses the vChild option from the sParent listbox, than the second listbox named sChild is suppose to become visible, but if the users chooses any other option value or no option value at all from the sParent listbox the sChild listbox is to remain hidden. It works fine with input fields but not with textarea. Even when I dont insert message into textarea, the script allows to submit the form. I have given the name for textarea "userinput". I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?
I have a table that changes its cell (input text) colors when their contents
have changed (actually on keypress) and shows a couple of buttons
automatically, UDPATE and CANCEL. This works partially, though detecting
enter and escape doesn't seem to work, or parhaps calling the button click
events directly doesn't (see below).
In addition to getting the ENTER and ESC keypresses to fire their
appropriate button clicks, I need to be able to collect information on which
cells have changed, so on the page loading again I can read this
information, perhaps from a hidden field, to use to update a database
server-side.

I have a table with a header row, and the left column that are both labels (tabular data), I'd like to turn it on it's side so that the left column becomes the header, and the header becomes the left column. I'm hoping there's a jquery plugin that can already do this. I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. Anyone know of anything?

I do have expand and collapse columns in my table I am not able to sort the parent row get sorted along with the child rows. I want the parent row to be static and only the child rows getting sorted ..
