Html-file Where The User Inserts A Search Path For An Excel File?
Jan 28, 2010
I have one html-file where the user inserts a search path for an excel file. When the user clicks the button the data in the excel file should be presented in a <TABLE>. (Yeah, I know, activex only works in IE .. but that's good enough for this project)
The problem is .. I started out with a "fixed" search path for the excel file, so I didn't have the code in a function. That worked just fine. Once I added the function {} around the code it wouldn't work, it works just fine if I comment out the form-part and the function-part, and give the search path, of course.
It also works just fine if I use the function and form, but remove the <TABLE>- and <TR>-rows
I'm using a script to include images into a slide show using direct URLs to the image files, but I am using fckeditor (PHP) for my users to edit their content. The script in the .js file that pulls the images into the slide show. The user's image file is going to be named something like, "userImage01.php". Inside that file would be their image location path ~ "images/user/image1.jpg".Therefore, I need the above javascript to pull-in "userImage01.php" INSTEAD OF the image's location path.
I am creating a html table in JSP file . I need code for 'Cut,Copy,Paste' functions ie. if someone wants to copy data from my table to excel file or from excel file to html table he shud be able to do that.
Can someone give me code for 'Cut,Copy and Paste' i.e. some javascript functions which can do cut, copy and paste which i can put in my jsp file
I'm trying to put in place a file upload validation check. So at the client-side, the User selects a file. Before uploading, at the GUI, if the file exceeds an imposed limit, it will prompt the User that it exceeds the permitted size for upload.
And if it is within the permitted size, the full file path of the file to be uploaded will then be obtained and then used for the actual upload to the Server.
My program is built on EXTJS and Java, running using Tomcat. Browser restricted to Internet Explorer 7 only.
I am using modal dialog to select some check boxes and when I click on the button I need to call a php script file witch is generating an excel file based on the selected checkboxes.I am getting the checkboxes value but not able to call the php file.
I'm trying to get the full path of a file with a file uploader form with FF. I see HTML5 permits this but I cannot find any concrete examples to access this value from a normal html file uploader form.
I have set up a script on my page which automatically reads the files in a specific directory on the server and displays them in a nice file tree on my website so users can download the files. Here is the script: http://abeautifulsite.net/blog/2008/...ery-file-tree/Here is the script in action on my website: http://ligonier-in.org/onlineservice...ents_test.htmlThe plugin is working fine as far as finding the files and displaying them. However, the root folder where the files are stored is not the directory you would go to to access the actual files.
Long story short, the script is trying to download the file at http://ligonier-in.org/home/cityofli...pplication.pdf I need to 'parse' that url and force it to download the file from:
I've painted myself into a corner, and I can't use any server-side solutions.
With some help, I've been working on a script on x.html that searches for a specific "image Y" within "Y.html" (inside an iframe). Then the script replaces the "Image x" url to the url of "image Y".
It drills through a specific div, to a specific span, to find this image Y. I have it this way, because it's a pre-built content management system that hasn't given me the ability to show the image on another page. I need to do this several times on one html file, so I'm running into huge load times, and there seem to be numerous clashes with servers and locking up. So I'm hoping there's a way to just avoid iframes and achieve the same result.
Here's the script that I've got, to help understand what I've done.
is there a way to assign an event to a file input so that when a user selects a file to upload the event is triggered and i can check out the file extension? The reason why is simple, i want to perform different actions depending on the type of the file.
Referring to following link, I would like to determine the link for "In-Depth.xls", based on following coding, I find related information for Excel.png, does anyone have any suggestions on how to determine the URL for Excel file? http://fx.aastocks.com/en/forex/market/dbindepth.aspx?country=66970&indicator=47
I have a situation where I'm displaying some information in a table on a web page. I've given the user the ability to make several different "queries" and show different sub-sets of the data.
I would like to add a button to the page that would allow the user to create an .XLS file that would contain the current contents of the table. I realize that I could create it on the server and allow him to download it but I'd rather let him create it right there on his machine. Is it possible to have a script that can do such a thing?
I am creating a template generator page that generates a webpage based on what I fill in for certain elements like image name, img src, book title, book author, etc. and these values are sent to me in an excel document which right now I just open and copy and paste everything from the excel document into the form fields for each section. So for example the client sends over a list of book titles they want featured on the page this week and they include author name, author link, book name, book url, img src, etc. and I just copy those new fields into my template and then click generate and the updated HTML code is there for me to copy.
This part works totally fine but in the interest of saving time copying upwards of 100 fields from an Excel file into my template, is there a way I can select the excel file (stored locally) on my page with a "browse" directory form and then have a button that runs SQL queries on my Excel document to pull these updated titles, images, etc into my form fields dynamically?Do I need to utilize server technology for this or is there a simple script that when I click a button, will look at whatever excel file I have selected and say "grab this row at this column"?What is the best way to do this?'m relatively a noob when it comes to this stuff but I do know javavscript and SQL pretty well.
Now blah .jsp is included INSIDE index.jsp. In blah.jsp I have a button that calls a function inside b.js. In index.jsp I have following code inside head tags:
and I figured since blah.jsp is included inside index.jsp, I should be able to access the javascript methods with ease. But its not happening that way. I get an error (object expected in the line that has button in it). BTW, its not a problem in my JS or JSP code, because if I put the js file's contents inside blah.jsp, then it works like a charm!
So what am I doing wrong?
I also tried moving my script import statements inside blah.jsp as:
i have this web application in which the user has to browse and select a folder but not file. i used <input type="file"> , which helps in retrieving only files.
I have a form item that uses file browse. It is returning full path and file name.ie. Z:imagesMyfile.JPGI want to always strip off the path (whatever it is) and get the filename only.ie. Myfile.JPG.I had used code below, but it only worked in IE. It needs to work in all browsers. ?
<script> function xtractFile(data){ var m = data.match(/(.*)[/\]([^/\]+.w+)$/);
I got a pre-formatted spreadsheet. would it be possible using js to copy the data from a table on the current webpage, open the spreadsheet and paste the content ? if so, anyone got any links or pointers?
i've already tried google - but all i get is ActiveX methods which work in a very few cases.
How do I use Javascript to loop through all the spreadsheets contained in 1 excel file?
I am now at the stage where I can open the Excel file and find a value on 1 spreadsheet. Is there any way to detect if the workbook has multiple spreadsheets and then loop through all the spreadsheets to find a value?
I have an excel doc. which is updated by many people through the day. I would like this to be converted to a web page every hour, and then saved to a directory where it can be pulled onto a website.
I got an [object error] from IE 7.0.5730.11 when moving the <script src="..." type="text/javascript" /tag from the <headpart to the <bodysection of a HTML file.
Is not possibile to include Javascript code via <script src="..." type="text/javascript" /from the <bodysection, instead from the <headone? If yes, anyone has any idea of which the problem could be? If not, how can I programmatically include a javascript external file inside the <bodypart of a HTML file, for example, using Javascript to some particular native functions?
I wanna send a file thru the JQuery.load, I want it to work exactly like the regular post without the JQuery. So I can check the $_FILES['file']['error'] in PHP and all its features like I do without using JQuery.
$("#load").load('gerenciar_itens.php',{/* This is where I wanna pass the file. */}, function(data){ alert(data); });
I have a external file for example abc.js ,in this abc.js file no functions ,it contains some scripting,i want to call the scripting file though html I use the code
I have a .js file, we want to make it to load a html file right next to it, both files are on client system. I couldn't find any such examples and some posts talked about JavaScript security issues, I wonder if it is related to what I want.
Someone said .js file is not really JaveScript file, though Microsoft named it 'JavaScript'.
note that I am trying to "call" .html file from the .js file, not embed html code in .js.
I have tested the gal_par_path in the body, it looks right! On the contrary, the file is executed if, instead of the local variable i write it entirely.
