Scheduling An Excel File To Be Converted To A Webpage?
Jan 28, 2010
I have an excel doc. which is updated by many people through the day. I would like this to be converted to a web page every hour, and then saved to a directory where it can be pulled onto a website.
i am not able to compiled a file from java script to java class.Now its clear and working fine..now i can convert a java script file to java class.But now i am facing 1 more problem.i want to run that java class in IntelliJIdea.but its runnig with no error and not getting the out put.This is the converted java class for printing "HelloWorld".
import org.mozilla.javascript.*; import org.mozilla.javascript.optimizer.OptRuntime; public class Hello extends NativeFunction
I have one html-file where the user inserts a search path for an excel file. When the user clicks the button the data in the excel file should be presented in a <TABLE>. (Yeah, I know, activex only works in IE .. but that's good enough for this project)
The problem is .. I started out with a "fixed" search path for the excel file, so I didn't have the code in a function. That worked just fine. Once I added the function {} around the code it wouldn't work, it works just fine if I comment out the form-part and the function-part, and give the search path, of course. It also works just fine if I use the function and form, but remove the <TABLE>- and <TR>-rows
I am using modal dialog to select some check boxes and when I click on the button I need to call a php script file witch is generating an excel file based on the selected checkboxes.I am getting the checkboxes value but not able to call the php file.
Referring to following link, I would like to determine the link for "In-Depth.xls", based on following coding, I find related information for Excel.png, does anyone have any suggestions on how to determine the URL for Excel file? http://fx.aastocks.com/en/forex/market/dbindepth.aspx?country=66970&indicator=47
I have a situation where I'm displaying some information in a table on a web page. I've given the user the ability to make several different "queries" and show different sub-sets of the data.
I would like to add a button to the page that would allow the user to create an .XLS file that would contain the current contents of the table. I realize that I could create it on the server and allow him to download it but I'd rather let him create it right there on his machine. Is it possible to have a script that can do such a thing?
I am creating a template generator page that generates a webpage based on what I fill in for certain elements like image name, img src, book title, book author, etc. and these values are sent to me in an excel document which right now I just open and copy and paste everything from the excel document into the form fields for each section.So for example the client sends over a list of book titles they want featured on the page this week and they include author name, author link, book name, book url, img src, etc. and I just copy those new fields into my template and then click generate and the updated HTML code is there for me to copy.
This part works totally fine but in the interest of saving time copying upwards of 100 fields from an Excel file into my template, is there a way I can select the excel file (stored locally) on my page with a "browse" directory form and then have a button that runs SQL queries on my Excel document to pull these updated titles, images, etc into my form fields dynamically?Do I need to utilize server technology for this or is there a simple script that when I click a button, will look at whatever excel file I have selected and say "grab this row at this column"?What is the best way to do this?'m relatively a noob when it comes to this stuff but I do know javavscript and SQL pretty well.
I got a pre-formatted spreadsheet. would it be possible using js to copy the data from a table on the current webpage, open the spreadsheet and paste the content ? if so, anyone got any links or pointers?
i've already tried google - but all i get is ActiveX methods which work in a very few cases.
How do I use Javascript to loop through all the spreadsheets contained in 1 excel file?
I am now at the stage where I can open the Excel file and find a value on 1 spreadsheet. Is there any way to detect if the workbook has multiple spreadsheets and then loop through all the spreadsheets to find a value?
I am trying for a javascript code that would ask for the excel file location when run, fetch data from two columns till eof in an excel file (MS Excel 2010), append it to an existing text file and upload the plain text file to an ftp location.
The ftp username, password and location needs to be hard coded in the script.

I am looking for a way to select a file from a list and load it into a webpage. The page and the files are stored on a sd-card for off-line usage, I know that listing files remote dynamicly needs a scripting engine but since the sd-card is on the client side that is not possible, but I can make a list of those files when creating them.
It is intended for a datalogger on a tractor-puller, I create csv files with a bash script on the logger and for off-line viewing I use a javascript charting engine which loads the csv file, the files have the creation date as filename and I can make (and maintain) a list of files when creating them. The plan is that the we can select another data set (run) from within the browser and show that one. I have setup an example at [URL]
Im opening an excel worksheet and adding data to it using Javascript ActiveX Excel Object as below
var Excel,Book; Excel = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application"); Book = Excel.Workbooks.Open("c:/example.xls"); var excel_sheet = Book.Worksheets("Sheet1");
[code]....
In the above code the column A in excel worksheet will have a unique value.I need to delete the entire row matching the value in column A and shift the rest of the rows up using this Javascript ActiveX Excel Object.
My company has a website where we have some case studies in pdf format . People can download or view them . Is there any way we can know how many times people are downloading or viewing pdf files on that web page through java script . Server side scripting languages is not enabled at the moment but javascript is.....
In a MySQL database I have the following entry: "Fruits & Vegetables". I retrieve this to display on a webpage using PHP, convert to JSON, pass to client, process using JavaScript.
The PHP code that is passed to the client is: Code: $z = rawurlencode(json_encode($reqVar)); echo $z; where $reqVar is the array of results queried from database, including one that is "Fruits & Vegetables".
When it's passed to client using AJAX, the JavaScript to process the string (decode it and then convert from JSON string to object using Prototype framework) is. Code: var response = decodeURIComponent(transport.responseText) var respObj = response.evalJSON(true);
I can then display it in page. But when I pass it back to the PHP script using AJAX using the exact same process in reverse, at some point & is converted to & and if I re-enter it into the database it looks like "Fruits & Vegetables". How can i prevent this conversion? Does the order in which I convert to and from JSON and encode/decode need to be changed?
im working on a web application that generates dynamic data. My question is: i want users to be able to save the generated data, but not the whole web page, just a table in the web page that holds this data. I searched and found out that showing a "save as" dialog box is possible with javascript, with a method like: onclick="javascript: document.execCommand('SaveAs',Ƈ',null);. However, i coulnd't find out how to change the document object (or is it possible?) or a trick to print just the table of dynamic data.
I tried to cover the table with <div id="myData"></div> and use onclick="javascript: myData.execCommand('SaveAs',Ƈ',null); but as you might guess, it didn't work and gave this error message: "object doent support this property or method". Indeed i dont have any idea what div tag can and can't do, so it was just a meaningless try. By the way, i want to add that i can't use iframes just because of program design issues. Anyway, do you have any suggestions?
I have web page where user can upload file. He can select which file to upload with standard HTML input of type file. I want to add this feature: when user select some file (e.g. picture, pdf etc.) in file select dialog, I want to add link to selected local file. When user click on it browser(maybe associated application) should open local file so user can review what he selected. I was experimenting with urls with "file" protocol but it works only with html file located on local computer not for one on web server. I found that this is because of security restriction in browsers.
i am trying to have the content of a txt file loaded in a page (which works), but this file changes on a regular basis and I need just the text to refreash, not the whole page, this is what I have... As mentioned, it correctly displayes the content of the .txt file, but from the code I have, I need it to refresh
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head>
it is possible to redirect content that would normally appear on a webpage into file instead. I have webpages that I want to be able to switch into LOG mode where the entire content is instead written to a file.
Whenever execute the following code, the URL that is formed has "?" before my name and an "=" before my value (so the URL would be "[URL]"). I need the URL formatted so that a "+" is in front of the name and a ":" (colon) to be before the value (i.e. formatted like "[URL]"). Is there a way to change this behavior? $.ajax({ url: lansaUrl('proc', 'func'), global: true, cache: false, type: "GET", data: ({"acct": object.value}), dataType: "json", success: function(result){ $("p#customerInfo").innerHTML += " "+result; }, error: function(xhr, desc, exceptionobj) { alert(xhr.responseText); }});
I work for a small college and we were recently given permission to use a particular GPA calculator on their website. They sent us a javascript file, that I now have. I am trying to incorporate this into our website, but I don't really know much about javascript and I am having trouble making it work.
You can view the GPA calculator here to help clarify what I mean... If someone could just help point me in the right direction or if anyone know a site with tips that would be helpful to me..
