how to embed YouTube videos into a vBulletin installation of mine. How would I go about making a vertically expanding table that expand when the user would click on the "YouTube" text? I'm thinking of starting out out as a size maybe 100px high and 400px wide, and expand to 375px high and 450px tall. I've checked Google, but nothing seemed to come up that I could use.
I'm trying to halt a function's execution while waiting for user interaction.
For example, I have a function called getUserValue() that pops up a hidden div containing several buttons. Each button sets a value. I want use a function to pop the box, wait for the users' button press, and then continue the function based on what the user presses.
Behold, simi-code:
function getUserValue() { ... lots of code ... var returnValue = doPopBox(); ... lots more code based on users selection in doPopBox(); }
I've written quite a bit of supporting code, but the getUserValue() continues to execute after the box is popped up, even before the user presses a button.
I used setTimeout() to check to see if the button has been pressed -- but when the timer starts, the interface is locked and a button cannot be pressed. I also tried using a recursive function, (check value=null, if it is, recheck), but Firefox and IE apparently don't like what may seem like an unending recursive loop.
I make a table that shows invoice, JobName, and date.
It might show up like this...
Ok, then, when the user clicks one of those invoice numbers, I'd like to have a table expand from within that table that shows the details of that invoice
Details might look like:
So the final product would look like this when the "10001" invoice button is clicked:
Is this something I should use AJAX for? I'd like it to look pretty like what I saw in this "Welcome to ruby" page. The page seems to reference AJAX only once, and it's in the below snippet... I'm confused how it works since I can't find and AJAX imports
I tried messing around with an html tag table, but here's where I got... which doesn't even work without the complicated expansion effects:
On my website I have a Table with 2 columns, each column has a DIV in it. How can I make it so that each of the DIVs take up the entire space in the Table TD? I can post an example or link to the site itself...if that's allowed.
I have very limited experience with web development so apologies if this is a stupid question. I'm using some code I found online to show/hide a table using javascript. Everything works as it should EXCEPT that in Firefox rather than having the table auto-size each column to fill up the entire width (900px), the table uses the minimum width for each column necessary to display all of the data. I've tried a number of things (setting overflow, manually specifying div width or table width, etc.) but nothing seems to get it to take up the full width as it does in IE and Chrome. You can see the page / code here: [URL]
The javscript I'm using is: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function showHide(_myObj,_action) { var _myTableObj = document.getElementById((_myObj.parentNode.id).substring(0,(_myObj.parentNode.id).indexOf('_'))); if (_action == 'show') { .....
I will have multiple li's of the same structure below on the same page. I click "more" and then the overlay appears. The only issue is that it appears for each instance. I understand why but I don't understand how to use the $(this) to isolate the interaction.
<li class="marketingItem"> <div class="thumb"> <?=img(array('src'=>'images/marketing/gil.jpg','alt'=>'Book 1'))?> <div> <div class="overlay"> lorem ipsum overlaysum. </div> <div class="title"> This is the Title<br /> <a href="#" class="more">more</a> </div> </li>
I have 6 tabs. Each one of them contain many elements with class 'column' I'd like to know, when a tab is selected, how many such elements in that selected tab. no matter how I tried, it gives me the right count on the first one selected and start incrementing them for all subsequent selected. $('#columns > .column').length;
I've been looking for a gallery that interacts with a ligthbox and I can't seem to locate one to my needs. It either is a good gallery with a lame lightbox implementation or vice-versa. very spiffy prototypish gallery carousal type with a lightbox implementation?
Whenever firebug detects a js error on a page, it prevents you from interacting with the page, so you can't scroll, you can't click, you can't do anything except close the window.
Im working on jquery drag and drop inv scripts for my web based game but i need help about item limitation.I want to limit number of items in inventory.How can i do this?
I'm working on a content management system for my website, and when you add a new user, there is an option to select the users class, such as member, moderator, administrator. I want to make it that when moderator or admin is selected, a new table row appears under it showing options for the users permissions. Also, the PHP script for adding users checks the information for errors. If there are errors, it will display them. All of the form info is posted to the error page. Therefore if moderator or admin is selected, the permissions need to come up as well.
I am trying to create a js script that will prompt the user for a times table (example the 5 times table, the 7 times table, etc.) & prompt the user for 2 more values; the 'start' number and 'end' number. So there would be 3 numbers total the user must input. The script should present a 'warning' message if the user inputs letters or negative numbers. I have come very close to getting it too work but can't quite get past the last hurdle. Upon entering the 3 numbers, the output should look similar to this: (the 5 times table starting with 1 and ending with 12)
I am trying to modify the table found in the following Link (section 4, Post Event Calculated tonnes) to recreate an identical table that I require:Special Event Follow UpSomeone prior to me create this sheet and I would like to modify the formula and the headings in that specific table only. How can I recreate an identical table with different headings to represent the items I require.
I am looking for a javascript way to make a table header visible as the user scrolls down my web page. The table header is produced by php from a mysql db. The table is populated by results based on the user filter inputs.
see: [URL]
The table cells can be any width depending on the search results. I think a copy of the table header needs to be made and this would then float at the top of the page staying at the top no matter how far the user scrolls down, so that it's position would depend on the scroll bar position.
I have created a table that allows the user to edit specific cells by clicking on them. Their new entered values set the value on the table. They then should be able to submit a form which sets several hidden inputs equal to the values in the table then passing the information to a php page to process. However, the php page doesn't output anything when it is submitted. This is the form layout.
I am maintaining a site which is written in ASP. Now i have to create some new pages.
In one page we have a table with many rows. Now, I want to enable or disable(showing and hiding also) 2 rows of this table depending upon the value selected by the user from a drop down list.
What I want is a piece of code that reads a table and inserts new entries into a listbox on the user side. I dont want to have to "refresh" the page to get new entries into the listbox.Essentially, the table will get updated by an app on one side and I want users to be able to view the updates as they occur.
I'm trying to create a function to show a custom message as a tooltip when a user hovers over a table row.
My tr tag looks like this
The javascript function looks like this:
jQuery seems to be loaded correctly, as I get the alert. I don't get the tooltip, however.
What I'm trying to do, in case this is totally retarded and impossible to see, is to hover a tooltip over the clicked row instead of passing it in as a variable.
I have been trying to get a simple javascript that expands and collapse's a set of div's. Now this works a treat in its own html file. but when I use the div's in the product display the javscript doent work?? :-( anyone know why??
My shopping cart is template and database driven, with each part having its own template file. the divs are in the product discription which is pulled from the database.
i have 1 div with scrollbars and another div with a table inside. when user scroll horizontal bar in div1 i want application to scroll the table header from the same amount of pixels and in the same direction. i did not find anything under jQuery about that.. :-(
1. how can i detect in which direction the scroll is done (to the right, or to the left) ? 2. how can i determine how many pixels this scrolling is about ? 3. how to scroll the table header (table tag or th tag) from the same amount of point ?
i found just scrollLeft for now and i'm not successful to use it
