Love the Cycle plugin.
- works as expected in that one photo fades into the next photo smoothly. Test page looks great - [url]
However, when I put the exact same code into Thesis/WordPress, I get a long delay between the images, and spend several seconds looking at a blank stage - [url]
Why would that be? How to make the images transition fade smoothly into the next image
I'm learning javascript, and was wondering if it was Possible to have buttons/links that you click, the whole page fades out, and then fade's in, with different stuff. here are my ideas for just changing the stuff
Text: 1. having a javascript src file to start, and then when the button is clicked, that is formatted to white, the text layer is moved down, and a new javascript file is loaded?
So, I have a document like this (leaving the formal body and head tags out):
<ul>
<li>Listitem #1</li>
<li>Listitem #2</li>
<li>Listitem #3</li>
<li>Listitem #4</li>
<li>Listitem #5</li>
</ul>
Now my plan was to make the order of the <li> elements random, so that at certain times it appears like this
<ul>
<li>Listitem #4</li>
<li>Listitem #2</li>
<li>Listitem #5</li>
<li>Listitem #1</li>
[Code]....
But trying to load the HTML it didn't work. Would you be able to explain me why and how this problem could be fixed? I have tried several alternatives, checked the error console all the time, but they all failed as well.
Images are displayed one after the other with fade in and fade out .There are 20 images in slide show ....I want to show "Locading ...." message till all the images are loaded ...or display some GIF which will indicate the images are being loaded...

What I'm looking to do is have a folder of images that I have show up on my website.I'm also looking to pull from this folder up to 6 or 7 times on the same page w/ randomized pictures that do not repeat.Finally, I'm looking to be able to size and name these images based on which image randomly pulls. b/c it's not grabbing the images.
images = new Array()
images[images.length] = 'images/example.jpg'
images[images.length] = 'images/example.jpg'[code].....
I am trying to find a script that basically does the following:
-I have a list of quotes
-A script that chooses one by random
-The quote fades in (through opacity). Is displayed for 10 seconds then fades out.
-Repeats by selecting a new random quote.
The whole thing started when we decided it would be neat if the web page looked slightly different everytime you visited.The functionality I'm looking for will fade the CSS associated to the html body tag. The tiled background image in particular. I have over 50 seamless tile background images of various dimensions stored in my default image folder. I'm hoping to find some script that will select and display one of the images at random and then fade to a new one every 10 or 20 seconds.It might work if I had some script that replaced the background attribute of the body tag with an animation.. selecting from an array of image paths?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use jQuery to produce something similar to this flash example [url]although I'd like the effect to be somewhat more controlled.
In a nutshell, what I'm trying to achieve is a 3 x 4 grid of (12) images which appears to load in a random order and then 1 by 1 (again in random order) fade out to be replaced by another image. I'd like the effect to be quite subtle, smooth and calming with the timing between image fades to be fairly even.
All images would be pulled from a folder on my webserver. I don't want the same image to be visible more than once at any time, although I don't mind repeating images as long as they're not already in the grid - hopefully that makes sense?
Ideally I'd like only one image to be changing at any given time with a pause before the next image starts to fade into new image.
The way I've been trying to tackle this so far is to use 12 different instances of a jquery image fade laid out in a CSS grid.
There are a few problems with my approach so far;
Doesn't appear random
Timing - multiple squares change at same time. (I only want one image to change at a time)
Same image often repeated at same time within grid
Its not long before a pattern emerges and you can tell which image will change next.
I'm sure this must be possibly, but my math or scripting skills aren't quite there yet.
I have a form with a number of inputs and also a div element that acts as an input. I want to make it so that if someone is in the input before the div, and they hit "tab", it'll tab to that div.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem. I have a div component where I'll drag multiple images. This part is working perfectly. But I am not able to read the order of these images played in the component. What happens, I can play any position in the image of the div component, however, like to read in order as they are, from left to right.
I believe it is possible, but the solution must be complicated. Some of his friends could help me in the routine javascript to read this?

I know that there are some really nice jQuery UI. However, I'm really new to jQuery and I need to save the order into a SQL Server database so that next time if the same user comes back to the site, the picture will be in the same order that he/she reordered it previously.

I'm still a beginner to javaScript, but I'm trying to write a script for a simple image change using next and previous buttons. The following script works, except that the images do not rotate in the desired order. The script works as long as you don't switch from next to previous, which is when the wrong images are shown.
<html>
<head>
<title>Button Click 12</title>
<style type="text/css">
button {
font-family:georgia;
font-style:italic;
font-size:12px;
font-weight:bold;
cursorointer;
border:1px solid red;
background-color:aqua;
display:inline-block;
padding:2px 20px;
margin:0 5px;
} .....
How we can modify this function in order to make it in use for many displays?

I am trying to make different images hover over a table of sliced images when you mouse over a particular image. ex. mouse over image 1 = have image 1.1 hover over entire table of images in spot A; mouse over image 2 = have image 2.2 hover over entire table of images in spot B....ect. what i have so far only allows me to mouse over image 1 and have image 1.1 hover over entire table in spot A. Any time i try to move forward with more div's on other images it just jacks everything up.
Here it is: <html>
I'd like to reorganize the third, fourth, fifth and sixth, as well as any
elements thereafter in an array in random order:
var a = new Array('first','second','third','fourth','fifth','s ixth','etc')
In other words, the first, second and third element should remain in
position 0, 1 and 2, while the fourth, fifth and sixth, etc. should appear
in random order.
My table columns are sorted by the Tablekit library [URL]. The user can click the columns to toggle the sort order either ascendingly or descendingly. I can save the current sort order (preference) in the server. After the page is refreshed, the web page is sorted by the original sort order. How to make the Tablekit library to sort with the current sort order after page refresh? My web page column is:
<th class="sortfirstdesc" id="urgency" onClick="reverseOrder($sortdesc)">ID</th>
How can i precache those menu pics in order to make them change immediately on mouse over?

I have a set of images that fade in and out when rolled over, using the following code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".thumbs img").hover(function(){
$(this).fadeTo("fast", 1.0);

But the problem is, the images start at full opacity when the page loads, and I want them to either a) start from 0.3 or even better b) fade in to 0.3 from 0.
I'm using Cycle to transition multiple (8) images at one time. I want to fade in the first 8. In a slideshow where only 1 image displays at a time, the Cycle FAQ advises using the following code to fade in the first image:
$(function() {
$('#slideshow img:first').fadeIn(1000, function() {
$('#slideshow').cycle();
});
});
This doesn't work on IE or Firefox at all; it kind of works on Safari, in thatthe fade actually works. However, this seems to have also changed the behavior of the slideshow. For some of the cycles, instead of sliding the slides off the page, it hides the old slides and slides in the new ones.
I have been trying to replicate a cool javascript effect that appears here (http://d3r.com). See the funky images fading in when hovering with mouse? I want that ;-) By using Firebug I think I have narrowed down the code needed to:
<div id="main" class="clearafter">
<div class="inner clearafter">
<div class="columns clearafter">
<div class="project hovers column" style="border-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); cursor: pointer; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">
