Editing Rotating Image To Rotate Random Instead Of In Order?
Oct 1, 2009
I am trying to edit some script to have the photos rotate randomly rather than rotate in order. (The first half of the script was generated by dreamweaver)((Also, this is not my own code to begin with))
I want the images to change (rotate) in sequence when the page is refreshed not random like i have below. Also I also need text to change on refresh to because I am going to have a descritption of the image below. So the image and text sync up together when some refreshes the page or goes page to the home page.I want the images to change like on this page Loading A Specific Image Sequence On Page Refresh Via JavaScript / DOM
Code: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"> var imgs = new Array('<a href="VW_1.shtml"><img border=0 src="img/samples/VW/large_1.jpg" width=165 height=109" class="thumbnail_img">', '<a href="fortshelby1.shtml"><img border=0 src="img/samples/Fort Shelby/image1-large.jpg" width=165 height=109 class="thumbnail_img">', '<a href="jaguar1.shtml"><img border=0 src="img/samples/Jag_of_Novi/large_1.jpg" width=165 height=109 class="thumbnail_img">', ..... var max = imgs.length; var num = Math.floor((Math.random() * max)); document.writeln(imgs[num]); </script>
I'm still a beginner to javaScript, but I'm trying to write a script for a simple image change using next and previous buttons. The following script works, except that the images do not rotate in the desired order. The script works as long as you don't switch from next to previous, which is when the wrong images are shown.
I am trying to figure out how to make an online quiz via Javascript, based on just a couple questions (4 to be exact) from a question-bank, and I want only 2 of the questions out of the 4 to appear when the quiz is taken (randomly of course).I found a great template online for what I want my quiz to look like, however, it does NOT have the random add-on functionality I would like.I am not looking for the 'answer' or for someone else to do the workHere is the quiz template I found:
<?xml version = "1.0" encoding = "utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-W3CDTD XHTML 1.0 StrictEN" "http:www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
I'm working on a small scrolling popup window that mimicks an instant message window. I've currently got it all set up and working however I would like a way to have multiple var html_code options that can be picked at random. For example, each option would have a different image and text in the box.
I came across this on a website, but i wanted to know if i can set a width="150" height="150" parameter somewhere inside this code. i really am i beginner at this javascript coding:
<script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var rand=Math.round(Math.random()*4); var img=new Array(5);
Does anyone know of a scipt that will rotate random div layers on page refresh? I have a primary content area front and center on my site homepage, and I'd like to rotate various chunks of html (in div layers) each time a user reloads the page. Right now I'm resorting to a random image rotation (those scripts are a dime a dozen) on refresh, but it's far from ideal for what I'm trying to accomplish.
But trying to load the HTML it didn't work. Would you be able to explain me why and how this problem could be fixed? I have tried several alternatives, checked the error console all the time, but they all failed as well.
I'm looking to build a user form where the user can drag and drop markers onto an image and then retrieve/send the resulting new image with markers back to the server for processing.
what UI functions / Framework will be in the right direction to achieve this?
Anyone familiar with some existing similar functionality?
For sites like Facebook that allow you to crop your picture/rotate etc... Is there a javascript plugin out there that one can plug into ones site to be able to achieve similar?bviously the JS script must say it to a server side script for it to be saved to disk. But how is this achieved. Is this something one can code from scratch? I am really keen using one
I'm trying to use Javascript to have an array of images that load randomly AND work in a slideshow manner so change every 3 seconds (in a logical order). The code I have below presents a random image but how do I get them to continue from the random image and change to the next every 3 seconds?
I am trying to create a banner rotating script. I want a random banner to appear when the page loads that can be clicked so you can visit a specific site which corresponds to the banner. I am able to get that to work.
I also want to be able to list the links to the other banners and have the banner image change when the mouse is placed on the link. I am able to get that to work too.
What I can't get to work is for the url to change when the new banner appears after the mouseOver. Code:
I have a script that rotates images every 5 seconds - the only probelm is when the page loads you have to wait 5 seconds for the first photo to load. How can I edit the code so when the page loads it starts with a photo already displayed and then starts changing photos every 5 seconds?
I am sure its a simple fix of adding an if ... else - but I am not really seeing it at the moment. Code:
I need to know level of difficulty/hours needed to do this:
A user uploads a photo into an editing tool. It takes a couple of seconds to upload the full res version. Then, when the photos are being edited in the tool (cropping, color, etc.) it converts to low res for faster editing, so the high res image doesn't have to load every time there's a change. Once the user is done, and/or adds their final product, the manipulated image is saved to hi res again, for print.
What is the time estimate/level of complexity if this? The code is there for the tool (some advanced JavaScript), just need to change the speed of editing. Server disk write speed is plenty fast.
I've been searching for a way to rotate an image a div say 90 degrees when a link is clicked, but can not seem to get it to at all. Here is some code I'm trying at the moment amongst many others, using thejQuery Rotateplugin.
Edit: I can get it to kind of work with css3, although it doesn't animate, and it only rotates once. I would like to keep rotating each time a link is clicked.
I am building a site to replicate an existing site for a non-profit.[URL] want to have a rotating image on their home page, and I have it working using the following jQuery Code:
The problem is that I can't figure out how to clear the previous slide's decription (in the <p> tag of each Div). At present the descriptions do rotate, but they are all visible since they are within the stacked Div's. How can I get the descriptions to show and hide in sync with the images?
I'd like to have something similar to the rotating images and text on my website. The website that I would like to mimick is: [URL]
You can see that the images move but there is still text over the image that I can click on. How would I go about doing something similar to this on my website. I'm guessing it's a combination of Javascript and CSS but I figured I'd start here.
I am rotating images at one location of my web site. My problem is if I set the width and height of the new image before I show the new image, the old image is stretched first to the new image dimensions, and if I show the new image before setting its dimensions, the new image is stretched first to the old image dimension before it is adjusted to its own dimension. I would like to load a new image with its own dimension at the same time. How can I do this?
on the right hand side I have rotating images in four image place holders. I'm rotating a total of 12 images. I need to add one more to the mix and for some reason I keep getting an undefined error on the second and third image place holder. I would have thought adding another image to the array would've been easier than this but I must be missing something. It worked fine before with each script taking the same number of images. That's what I'm thinking is wrong, the script which is replicated four times has three images rotating except the last, which has four for parameters. Code:
Let me start of by saying that I'm a designer, not a programmer so I'll apologize in advance for having very little knowledge of javascript.I found a free script for a auto-advancing slideshow that allows you to give each image in the slideshow a unique link. My problem is that when you click on one of the pictures the link opens in a new window instead of loading in the default browser window. I have tried to search google for an answer but my lack of javascript knowledge has left me scratching my chin.Here's the code in the head of my page:
I know that it involves css, but I'm not sure which functions to use. I'm trying to have somesort of triangle, with its tip pointing right, but when slide down, it points down. How do you do that with css and jquery?
How to get background images to rotate with a fade in a header without using an image in div in the body. A combination of javascript and CSS -- not sure if this is the correct forum or not? I can achieve an image changing/rotating in a div using the code just below. But I have to refresh the page for the image to change.
Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "[URL]"> <html lang="en"><head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Rotate Images</title> <script type="text/javascript"> var backgroundSrcs = new Array("list-of-images"); function pickimage() { .....
And I can get the image to rotate, change on its own, with the javascript below but have to do it using through an img div, a place-holder. Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "[URL]"> <html lang="en"><head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Rotate Images through img tag</title> <script type="text/javascript"> var rotatingImages = new Array("../list-of-images"); .....
So what I really would like to do is have the image rotate through the div and not have to have the img tag present. I haven't even tackled the fade but have some thoughts about this. Since it's the header div I want to do the fading not the img tag, I'm thinking the way to make the fade work will be the same.
