JQuery :: Set Of Images That Fade In And Out When Rolled Over?

Jun 25, 2009

I have a set of images that fade in and out when rolled over, using the following code:

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".thumbs img").hover(function(){
$(this).fadeTo("fast", 1.0);

[Code]....

But the problem is, the images start at full opacity when the page loads, and I want them to either a) start from 0.3 or even better b) fade in to 0.3 from 0.

Creating A Dice Game Where 6 Dice Are 'rolled' By You And 6 Dice Are 'rolled' By The Player

Nov 14, 2011

Create a game where 6 dice are 'rolled' by you and 6 dice are 'rolled' by the player (simulated by the click of a button). Add up both rolls. The goal is to come as close to a score of 100 as possible, without passing 100. Have a STOP button to signify when you are ready to stop rolling and compute the winner. The highest score under 100 wins. Display the number of times you win and the number of times the computer wins using javascript. So far I have the following code, however, my dice images are not working(they display as little broken symbols when I run the game). The game itself is running just fine but I can't figure out how to get the game to do the "Add up both rolls" step and beyond.

JQuery :: Cycle - How To Fade In First Set Of Images

Dec 2, 2010

I'm using Cycle to transition multiple (8) images at one time. I want to fade in the first 8. In a slideshow where only 1 image displays at a time, the Cycle FAQ advises using the following code to fade in the first image:

$(function() {
$('#slideshow img:first').fadeIn(1000, function() {
$('#slideshow').cycle();
});
});

This doesn't work on IE or Firefox at all; it kind of works on Safari, in thatthe fade actually works. However, this seems to have also changed the behavior of the slideshow. For some of the cycles, instead of sliding the slides off the page, it hides the old slides and slides in the new ones.

JQuery :: Fade Non-:hover Images By Class

I have a grid of images. For the sake of my question, let's say there are different categories of images: cats, dogs and cars. All images belong to one of these categories, but all are different. When the page is loaded, all images have their opacity lowered to 0.7.

So far I've got:

What I'd like to achieve is that when you hover the mouse over a picture of any dog, all images with a class of "dogs" have their opacity adjusted to1.

JQuery :: Getting Multiple Images To Fade In And Out Randomly?

Aug 15, 2010

I have a concept I want to develop but haven't been able to find a jQuery plugin that will do what i need. I am hoping if someone knows of a script or even to share if this is possible.

What I want is to have about 10 small images to be displayed horizontally and have each of these images fade in and out at random times and being replaced by other images.

I have a flash example that i would like to replicate that would give you an example of what i want to achieve. If you look at the bottom of the page where the platinum sponsors are this is what i want to replicate.

Love the Cycle plugin.

However, when I put the exact same code into Thesis/WordPress, I get a long delay between the images, and spend several seconds looking at a blank stage - [url]

Why would that be? How to make the images transition fade smoothly into the next image

JQuery :: .hover Functions Not Firing Correctly When Rolled Over Too Quickly?

Jun 22, 2010

I am building a sliding menu with .hover() and I have a series of three functions within handlerIn() and three within handlerOut(). If you quickly run your mouse over and then off of the hover area, without letting the animate() function complete, the handlerOut() functions don't fire correctly.

Here's the page: [URL]

And here's the code for one of the three (all three are the same):
//image sliders
$('#build-nav').hover(function() {
$('#build-trans').animate({top:'180px'},{queue:false, duration:300, complete:

JQuery :: Animation - Fade Plugin Onto A Page To Automatically Cycle Through Images In An Unordered List Without A Click Event

Feb 18, 2011

I have just added a jQuery fade plugin onto a page to automatically cycle through images in an unordered list without a click event. It works well but when I preview the page with JS disabled all images become visible and it messes up the layout. What I need is a method that works when JS is disabled. I have seen methods where the {display:none} CSS styles are applied then changed via JS but can't figure this out. If anyone can either recommend a decent plugin with provisions for JS disabled browsers

I have been trying to replicate a cool javascript effect that appears here (http://d3r.com). See the funky images fading in when hovering with mouse? I want that ;-) By using Firebug I think I have narrowed down the code needed to:

Cycle Through And Fade Images In Header Of Webpage

Jan 19, 2010

I'm building a website which uses javascript to cycle through and fade images in the header portion of each web page. The javascipt os located in an external file and called via the master page. Here is the code in the content.js file which specifies where the images are located:
// create array of images
var CyclingImages = new Array("header/images/tankimage1.gif",
"header/images/tankimage2.gif",
"header/images/tankimage3.gif",
"header/images/tankimage4.gif")

Here is the code in the master page which finds the javascript:
<script language="javascript" src="<%= Page.ResolveUrl("~/content/content.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script>

Here is the function call in the masterpage to fade and cycle the images:
<body onload="FadeAndCycleImages()">

Here is the code in the masterpage which references the cycling images:
<span class="fadingimages">
<img src="<%= Page.ResolveUrl("header/images/tankimage1.gif") %>" width="142" height="124" title="" alt="" name="cyclingimage" />
</span>

Each webpage loads the masterpage. If the webpage is located at the root of the project, the cycle and fade functionality works great. When I start to place some of the webpages in separate folders - which I need to do - the cycling and fading functionality breaks down, meaning the images cannot be found. The image place holder is there with the standard red "x" in the upper left. I have done a lot of research and tried many approaches to try to resolve this issue, but with no success. The root of the problem seems to lie in the fact that I cannot apply Page.ResolveUrl within the content.js file.

JQuery :: Fade In Fade Out Hover Effect In Gallery?

Dec 19, 2011

I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.

<a href="#"><img.... /><div>the info</div></a>

I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.

JQuery :: Fade In / Fade Out Poor Rendering In ALL Browsers

Feb 15, 2010

I'm having problems with my text appearing aliased and turning blue when it fades in and out. I've tried using the Newsticker plugin and the Easyticker plugin, and I'm getting the same result in IE7 and Firefox 3.6. I'm using jQuery 1.2.6-min Specifying a background color doesn't fix it. The examples on the plugin websites look fine, but when I try and implement the effect myself, my orange text becomes aliased and fades to a light blue color before dipping to white. Same thing happens on the fade in. attached is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.
