MooTools Fade On Images (Blending Into One Another)
Feb 17, 2010
I love this site: [URL]. When you click a number at the foot, it suddenly changes to another image in the background. Is there an easy way that these 'blend' into one another, rather than the sudden switch? Their JS file is here: [URL].
Images are displayed one after the other with fade in and fade out .There are 20 images in slide show ....I want to show "Locading ...." message till all the images are loaded ...or display some GIF which will indicate the images are being loaded...
I'm looking for a low-overhead algorithm implemented in Javascript for blending between two sine-curves defining distance as a function of time for DHTML animation.
The "primary" motion is described by the equation (1/2)-(1/2)cos(pi*time), which creates 1/2 a cosine curve normalized on (0,1) on both axes, which is useful because I can multiply the amplitude at any given time by the total pixel motion needed to get how far along the movement the object being moved should be at any given time. What I've accomplished so far can be viewed at http://ryan.octospider.com/dev/
The final default behavior of the script will be to cycle through all 6 images endlessly. However, when the user mouses over one of the menu buttons to the left of the design, I want the images to smoothly transition to a faster scroll (the same curve as before, but over a shorter time) without stopping and accelerating again from zero velocity, that carries it to the selected image.
This's easy enough to work out with calculus -- unfortunately, I don't know how to perform the multiple derivatives needed in Javascript in a timely manner.. myself and an engineer friend have been poking at this problem for a while, thinking about weighted averages (with the weights changing linearly over time) and such, but if this has been done, I'd like to know how, to save myself a lot of trial-and-error effort.
But the problem is, the images start at full opacity when the page loads, and I want them to either a) start from 0.3 or even better b) fade in to 0.3 from 0.
I'm using Cycle to transition multiple (8) images at one time. I want to fade in the first 8. In a slideshow where only 1 image displays at a time, the Cycle FAQ advises using the following code to fade in the first image:
This doesn't work on IE or Firefox at all; it kind of works on Safari, in thatthe fade actually works. However, this seems to have also changed the behavior of the slideshow. For some of the cycles, instead of sliding the slides off the page, it hides the old slides and slides in the new ones.
I have been trying to replicate a cool javascript effect that appears here (http://d3r.com). See the funky images fading in when hovering with mouse? I want that ;-) By using Firebug I think I have narrowed down the code needed to:
I have problem with javascript for image effects. Here is the link [URL] login with these nick and pass: nick: google pass: googleads When you log into, on the top of the page are 4 images with fade effect. But effect is wrong. When I came first I see those images in full colors. How to change my script to show them in grey when I first came?
I've created simple javscript gallery using previous and next links. The problem is that I want fade effect between images like this: [URL] I've pasted few lines of jquery code in my javascript functions but the fade effects aren't the same
I have a grid of images. For the sake of my question, let's say there are different categories of images: cats, dogs and cars. All images belong to one of these categories, but all are different. When the page is loaded, all images have their opacity lowered to 0.7.
So far I've got:
What I'd like to achieve is that when you hover the mouse over a picture of any dog, all images with a class of "dogs" have their opacity adjusted to1.
I have a concept I want to develop but haven't been able to find a jQuery plugin that will do what i need. I am hoping if someone knows of a script or even to share if this is possible.
What I want is to have about 10 small images to be displayed horizontally and have each of these images fade in and out at random times and being replaced by other images.
I have a flash example that i would like to replicate that would give you an example of what i want to achieve. If you look at the bottom of the page where the platinum sponsors are this is what i want to replicate.
I'm building a website which uses javascript to cycle through and fade images in the header portion of each web page. The javascipt os located in an external file and called via the master page. Here is the code in the content.js file which specifies where the images are located: // create array of images var CyclingImages = new Array("header/images/tankimage1.gif", "header/images/tankimage2.gif", "header/images/tankimage3.gif", "header/images/tankimage4.gif")
Here is the code in the master page which finds the javascript: <script language="javascript" src="<%= Page.ResolveUrl("~/content/content.js") %>" type="text/javascript"></script>
Here is the function call in the masterpage to fade and cycle the images: <body onload="FadeAndCycleImages()">
Here is the code in the masterpage which references the cycling images: <span class="fadingimages"> <img src="<%= Page.ResolveUrl("header/images/tankimage1.gif") %>" width="142" height="124" title="" alt="" name="cyclingimage" /> </span>
Each webpage loads the masterpage. If the webpage is located at the root of the project, the cycle and fade functionality works great. When I start to place some of the webpages in separate folders - which I need to do - the cycling and fading functionality breaks down, meaning the images cannot be found. The image place holder is there with the standard red "x" in the upper left. I have done a lot of research and tried many approaches to try to resolve this issue, but with no success. The root of the problem seems to lie in the fact that I cannot apply Page.ResolveUrl within the content.js file.
Where all images are loaded in, so scroll bars know how far the scroll is. Then they are faded up (using jQuery Cycle) once you scroll an image within the viewable area of the browser.
We're using a fade image slideshow from : [URL]. On our webpage: [URL]. It works perfectly in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. However in I.E. ( were using v.9) it shows no images at all, just a blank space. The code is exactly the same as the page on javascriptkit yet his images fade as they should ours do not show at all.
I'm trying to write a function that rotates images with a fade. The function work properly, however I can't make the images fade back in. The fadein function won't add to the .style.opacity Here's the code with the php
- works as expected in that one photo fades into the next photo smoothly. Test page looks great - [url]
However, when I put the exact same code into Thesis/WordPress, I get a long delay between the images, and spend several seconds looking at a blank stage - [url]
Why would that be? How to make the images transition fade smoothly into the next image
I have just added a jQuery fade plugin onto a page to automatically cycle through images in an unordered list without a click event. It works well but when I preview the page with JS disabled all images become visible and it messes up the layout. What I need is a method that works when JS is disabled. I have seen methods where the {display:none} CSS styles are applied then changed via JS but can't figure this out. If anyone can either recommend a decent plugin with provisions for JS disabled browsers
I found this script for a navigation fade-in/fade-out and I want to modify it so it'll only trigger the fade-in/fade-out functions of the span class is NOT set to active. Here is the javascript:
Code: $(function() { $("#nav ul#menu li span.active").css("opacity","1"); $("#nav ul#menu li span.active").hover("opacity","1");[code].....
It's the part of the code beneath the comment CONDITIONALS BELOW that I want to be able to only trigger it if span is not set to class .active.
have this Multiple Image Viewer very similar, -in fact almost identical- to the one in the main page of economist.com It uses the following code and its woriking nice,
Code: function switch_product_img(divname, divnumber, divtotal) {for (var i=1; i<=divtotal; i++) { var showDivName = divname + '_' + i;
This is a really awesome script that I'm sure all of you can put to use if you haven't yet heard of it. However, I'm trying to get it to fade a background image on my css styled navigation for my a:hover. Here is the script with a little simple tutorial on how to set it up: [URL] My only other knowledge is in PHP, so after about 2 hours of fail in this client-side language
This is the link to my site so far: [URL] You can see the script working as it is on my little yellow MW logo on the right side of the navigation. So in my scenario, I am looking to fade button.png to button-hover.png (both repeating on the x axis).
I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.
<a href="#"><img.... /><div>the info</div></a>
I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.
I am php developer,[URL]... a fade in fade out effect (image + text) which is working very nice but Can i do this like with text on top(not on an image)and image below it like header : text below that an image
example <table> <tr><td> header for image</td></tr> <tr><td> image here</td></tr> </table>
Can you pls suggest any other script to display an html page or pages like this just the way i had defined above in fade in fade out ....
