Provide Users With Help Regarding The Form Input Areas With A Help Popup Dialog Box?
Sep 25, 2010
I'd like to provide users with help regarding the form input areas with a help popup dialog box. I don't like the term popup because so many people block popups. I'll be providing a question mark next to the feature and if clicked would like a customizable dialog box to show with help text. There will be many of these involved and would like to know the best approach.
when a popup window appear, can I force users to focus on the popup window "ONLY" that mean, if users don't close the popup window, they can't do anything to other ie window (include close the opener window...etc)
My popup code doesn't appear to work with Internet Explorer 7 and before I spend time bug hunting I would appreciate it if a few IE7 users could visit my site and confirm if the code doesn't work for them too.
Visit www.microbuild.com and in the top right hand corner you will see three buttons for Online Support, Email Us and Call Us. Just click any one of those three buttons then let me know if the popup was successfully opened using Internet Explorer 7.
My client wants me to have a pop up with the login and password to autorize users. When the correct l/p is entered I want to close the pop up and load the page within the parent window. How could I do that? I have looked at Mike Foster xlib library bur I can only see the code to create the pop up. How could I close it and load a certain url in the parent windwo?
I'm trying to figure out a way to add a simple tool to allow users to click an input box (or a nearby button if using the input box is not possible) and a small box will pop up displaying a bunch of images. When one of the images is clicked, I need a specific URL related to that image to be added to an input box. I've put together a demo page showing where I'm trying to use this: [URL].
As you can see in the demo, at the bottom of the page is an editing box, in that box is a small label of "Bkgrnd image" and there is an input box below that with a URL for an image in it. I want users to be able to either click the input box (or a nearby button if necessary) and a list of images to pop up for them to select from. When they click the image, a URL will replace the original one in the input box.
I'm attempting to make user's input choice dynamically create the scrambled word game. The only thing that changes between the HTML page, and the JS files is the Array used to make the game. I researched Dynamic Arrays, but was confused, as nothing seem related to what I'm doing. What I've got going is all wrong. I know there is a better way to do this, but am confused. SelAry I've tried using too, but I can't get that code to work either. I don't know where to put the eval function. I know that window onload is not preferred, but am too confused.he crap code, using my crap method:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- function myChoice() if(myChoice = 1a) {
to users input? And, just to be clear, I don't mean to CMS stuff. For example: let's imagine I want to make script that every enrolled number multiplies by 2 (I don't know if it's common for jQuery to do this, but it is just an example). User need to enroll number, let's say, in some bar, or little window that displays on screen. So, that is what I mean by open for user. Script interact with user textual information. How to leave script open for users inf.I mean, this is very often thing in various scripts like form validation, contact email forms etc. In fact, I am typing this in something like that
I would like to create a program which converts some letters into different ones.
1) I want 2 text areas (input and output) + "convert" button
2) if I type in the input area the letters "ea" I would like it to be converted into "a", so that If I type "cambrea" and press "submit" the output text will have "cambra".
3) if I type "e " which is (e+space) I want it to be converted into " " which is "space" example: if I type the word "spine " it should be converted into "spin , note that there is a space after "spin ".
4) If I type any vowel before "o" it should render "o", example: gambuo becomes gambo. would this be possible? I'm not very familiar with Javascript even though I can modify it.
I am setting up a form to enter a chat queue on my website for work. The form script comes from the company we are using to host the chat, but the problem is that customers don't have to fill out anything to enter the queue. I want the users to have to fill out 3 of the 5 fields before they are able to click the sumbit button. I've found a few scripts on the web that looked they like would work, but they were all for radio selections, and I don't have enough javascript knowledge to switch the correct parameters to work with input.
This is the script I am using; <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]"> <html xmlns="[URL]"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> </head> <body> <form name="channel00000" action="[URL]" method="post"> .....
I need the name, comment1, and comment4 sections to be filled out before the submit will go through. I don't care if the button is not available until they are filled or a popup that asks for them to be filled out, just so long as they can't enter chat without us knowing their name and whatnot. From what I understand, the bulk of the form script needs to stay the same so it directs to us and not another company.
I am using jQuery (wdCalendar) Scheduler Calendar in my Website. I want to show Popup moduler of Add/Edit Event Form at the right top position of the window. But There is no functionality to change position of popupdialog.
What I'm trying to do is have a 'Save As' dialog box pop up when I click an anchor tag. What's hidden in the anchor tag is base64 information, so my anchors look like this: <a href=# src='data:image;base64, (base64 string here)' ></a> So when I click on this, it gives me the option of downloading my base64 info just fine, but the problem is, the name of it looks to be just the entire base64 string. I was wondering if there was a way I could set this name? I can get the file name, so I'd love to just put '....jpg' as the name that the user downloads.
The reason I'm asking is because when I download the file, it comes out as (random characters).bin.part, and if I know the download is a pdf, I try opening it with a pdf viewer, but get yelled at by the MIME type... however, if I simply change '.bin.part' to '.pdf', I can open the file just fine, so I'd love for an automatic naming system, but not sure how to implement that. I've tried the document.execCommand('saveAs', '1', '<filename here>'), but I think this is for an actual file that you serve from the server... I don't have the actual file, just the base64.
I need "No-Block PopUp Window" for my web site.. for example if users open my sites another sites show or opens for them.. even a full page site like full pages ads..and it be like One time per hour or more..I found some script like that but some of them being blocked by IE or other browsers..
i nees a scriopt to create a form in which i need to ask 10 questions from users. each question will have two answers. yes or no (radio button). visitor will have to select either yes or no. no question can be left unanswered. above question answers (in same form), there will be data field for user where he will submit his name, email, ph, address etc. after submitting all fields, visitor will submit. now following will happen.
a. a unique id will be created to be associated with this form b. his data will be emailed to one email or two emails c. in next screen, he will see his unique id alongwith results of his questions and answers d. if he replied all questions as yes, he will be passed e. if he replied no (even to a single question), he will be failed
In my Web Form I have more than one Textbox for user input. If I hit enter to any Textbox its submitting the form. How can I prevent Form submission if users hit enter to the textbox? I want to submit the form only when user will hit submit button.
I have a simple three-field form in a UI Dialog that, prior to POSTing, I need to validate using the jQuery Validation plugin.Currently, if the user clicks the form's Submit button (the form's action for the PHP form handling is the page with the link that opens the Dialog in the first place) with a field not properly filled out, the Dialog just closes.Clicking again on the link that opens the Dialog form will show the form with the error message(s) that the Validator generated on the previous click of the submit button. How can I keep the Dialog open and prevent a POST until the form validates?
Simple form which includes a drop down list of users obtained from a database which is displayed using a form select entry with options for each entry. problem is, the list can be quite long, upwards of several hundred.
In PHP, I added a filter box (text box) which the visitor can enter in a substring that is then used to obtain and display only matching entries. Works great, but it needs to reload the page to do its thing.
I've been told that jQuery can be used to do the same thing without having to reload the whole page.
The filter box would be used to call an existing PHP script which obtains the names based on the filtered string. I can change this script to output the data in any format necessary including raw format to full option formatted strings.
how to set this up so that it gets called and replaces the current option content.
I'd like some direction on creating a small piece of Javascript that will populate my <select> boxes. Basically, I have a form for users to create events, with a start time and an end time. (These are the two select boxes). For example:
What I am trying to do is: 1) Have times populated in 15 minute incrementals from 12:00AM to 11:45PM 2) Have some type of "error checking" available to where the End Time must be after the start time. It would be nice for the script to automatically change the end time field to a time that is after the start time.
Goal: get query string and email the sting upon users submitting form. Reason: To know what marketing ad unit the user can from Details. I need to get a query sting from the url (ex. example.htm?id=22e&moreid=99lk) and store the stings as vars and be able to pass these vars from page to page (hidden from the user) and when the user gets to a registration form and submits the form, the vars get attached to the email that is sent to me, so I know where they came from.
I am using a very simple search-type page to enable users to input a model number and its page appears in a inline frame. Its not a true search as it is simply relying on a person entering the correct html page name to find it. But this works perfectly in my application. The problem I have is that I cannot get the type box to accept enter key as a submitt, only a click of the mouse will submitt the request. If enter is pressed the box loses the users input but no action is taken.I think this may be a javascript issue. I have posted the code below.
I have an HTML page having a table and many columns. In that page i have to add new rows and cells dynamically. Adding new rows is working fine using inner HTML.But for particular textboxes i have two buttons namely "edit" and "save".the edit button will make the textbox editable and "save" button will make the textboxes in that row uneditable. Now my question is that as i am adding new rows using innerHTML how to add this functionality (making the textbox editable and uneditable) to the buttons that are dynamically created.
I posted a while ago about the Truncate plugin not preserving html links in FF. I like the plugin, but it needs to present properly in FF. I couldn't figure it out and nobody responded. Is there any other plugins that provide similar funcationality?
