JQuery :: Keeping Modal Dialog With Validated Form Open Until Form Is Filled Correctly?
Feb 7, 2011
I have a simple three-field form in a UI Dialog that, prior to POSTing, I need to validate using the jQuery Validation plugin.Currently, if the user clicks the form's Submit button (the form's action for the PHP form handling is the page with the link that opens the Dialog in the first place) with a field not properly filled out, the Dialog just closes.Clicking again on the link that opens the Dialog form will show the form with the error message(s) that the Validator generated on the previous click of the submit button.How can I keep the Dialog open and prevent a POST until the form validates?

I am new to JQuery and want to know how i can submit a form that is in a JQuery Dialog Modal Form. I have a button on my main page, which opens up a modal form, with a form inside. Here are 2 snippets from the code.
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function(){
// Dialog$('#dialog').dialog({
autoOpen: false,
width: 330,
buttons: {
"OK": function () {
alert("FORM SHOULD SUBMIT HERE");
},
"Cancel": function() {
$(this).dialog("close");
}}});
// Dialog Link
$('#dialog_link').click(function(){
$('#dialog').dialog('open');
return false;
});
//hover states on the static widgets
$('#dialog_link, ul#icons li').hover(
function() { $(this).addClass('ui-state-hover'); },
function() { $(this).removeClass('ui-state-hover'); }
);});
</script>
Code on the dialog.
<div id="dialog" title="Search by Job Number"><form action="SearchByJob.asp" method="post" name="JobForm">
<p>Enter Job Number:<input name="JobNumber" type="text" class="TextSmallBlack" id="JobNumber" size="30"></p><form>
</div>
How can I get the form to submit to the SearchByJob page?. If I put $("JobForm").submit() under the OK function, nothing happens.

I am creating an form dialog that will be slightly different for creating data than editing data. I'm pretty new to jquery, but I'm using the jqueryui and it seems to be working fine, but now I'm looking to change the labels of a couple of buttons and have one button available during editing (but not creating)....

I'm going to preface this by saying I know next to nothing about implementing jquery. Thus far, I've just been very lucky and able to figure out a few things on my own.
I have a simple form on my site that, upon clicking "submit" calls a PHP file.
I'd like to have a modal dialog box open when you confirm submission(like this.... [URL] but can't understand how to target the submit button to make this happen.
[URL]
I already have jquery script on my page but dont know what to do from here.

I have a very simple form. I start with the submit button disabled and once all of the fields have been validated I would like the submit button to enable. I only have required fields so the standard options that come with the validation plugin satisfy my needs. I only have this code along with the corresponding classes.
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#myForm").validate();
});

I have this create user form, and I'm checking if the email hasn't been used already. This works... But what my problem is, that if the email has not been used before, it will not send the form, while I return true.
I've tried to use $(this).submit, but that will just make it loop and never stop.
So basically: ifdata.is_dublicate = true show error else data.is_dublicate = false submit the form
$("#add_user").submit( function(){
var error = $('#dublicate');
$.post(domain.com/check_dublicate_email', {email: $("#email").val()},

I'm working on a little project where they have a slider form and I need to piggyback a tiny line of code into the validation function for the form.
What I need to happen is when the user has filled in all the fields and clicks the submit button AND the data validates THEN a class is added to the body tag. My jQuery knowledge is very minimal - I added the code to where I 'thought' its supposed to go but it didnt seem to work.
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
jQuery('#scroller').css('overflow','hidden');
// Set up the scrollable registration
var wizard = jQuery('#scroller').scrollable();
[Code]....

I am trying to validate a form with a couple of elements being required if a checkbox is NOT checked. Now if I submit the form the rules fire - and then I check the checkbox on - the validation rules have already fired - and even though the checkbox is now checked - the validation rules still apply and the form will not submit until I enter the fields.What I was hoping was that the checkbox could toggle the rules on or off.
var validator = $(".cmxform").validate({
rules: {
txtAddress1: {

What I want to do is: disable the submit button while not all form fields are filled out and eneble it when the form fields are filled out. Disabling works, the enabling doesn't, at least not 'automaticly'. All of the code is in the $(document).ready(function(){}
I have this code:

function checkAll()

How do I disable the submit button if all required fields in a form are not filled in? Say I have a form with Name, Age,message, and email. Name, message and email must be filled in or else the submit button will not show or will be disabled and then enabled once filled. If the fields are filled in then the submit button will show. If the fields are filled in but then one is deleted then the submit button will hide. Ideally if I can have it disabled that will work, if not I will settle on hide at this point.

i have created an option on a website to give the possibity to the user to change the font size (smaller, bigger, reset), like the famous x3 'A' that we see in most of the websites. the code i have is based on a plugin copywrite to [URL]. now i'm facing a problem with different font size for different elements. to make the text bigger and smaller works like a charm but to reset the font size is not working so good. here is the code of the plug in the reset part:
//on clicking default font size button, font size is reset
jQuery(container + " .defaultFont").click(function(){
jQuery("#content *").css('font-size', defSize);
// coockie to rememebr the selected font size
updatefontCookie(target, defSize);
});
here is how i'm calling the function: fontSize("#container", "#content *", 8, 12, 20); container is where i have the images to make the text smaller or bigger content is the div that has the content that i want it to be changed 8 is the smallest fonr size 12 default 20 max now the thing is that i have different font sizes in the page and some of them don't have a class just the <font> ....</font> when i'm clicking the rest button then i'm getting everything with size 12 and this is what i want to change. i want to remember the current font size and set it back.

I have a form that has 9 pairs of fields on it. I'd like to change this so that there are only two blank pairs of fields displayed. As the user fills out a pair of fields, it adds another pair of blank fields. This way, the user can fill out as many as their heart desires, but those who don't have that much information to provide, aren't confronted with an unnecessarily huge form of blank fields.

Basically, I've setup a form to have all the required data written to a csv file. Now, The only thing is some of the non-required fields are filled in and some people don't fill them in, so when I import it into excel, the fields move about. What I need to know, is there a condition I can set to have a value written into all the empty fields when it is submitted?
Here is where I am with that so far:
if (app100.address2.value == "") {
doc.write("N/A");

I have a form in which a user can create from 1 table to 10 tables which will dynamically create 2 HTML radio buttons, 12 checkboxes and 1 select drop down and 7 input textbox per table in JavaScript.
I need help with printing the whole form with currently filled values.I tried window.print() but it only prints which is visible on the screen. It doesn’t print the bottom section which you have to scroll down to view.
I also tried the following code as well but it prints radio buttons, checkboxes and select drop down with default value, not with the values currently selected or checked.
function CallPrint()
{
var answer = confirm("Do You Want to Print The Case?")
if (answer)

What I would like to achieve is that when a user goes back to the first page that his/her selection of the cities is still available. All items that have been selected are in the right hand box. This list is again empty when they return to this page via the "history.go(-1)" link.
The page is in dev status and in german, but it is very easy to understand, so it shouldn't be any problem for you guys. The javascript code can be seen in the source code on the first page. The left list is filled with a mySQL statement in the first place.
Of course I can to some PHP workaround by evaluating the submitted variables, but this would be much more work. I want to know if there is an easier approach? Code:

I am trying to get a dialog box to open another dialog box. Clicking on "more search options" the first time results in opening a dialog box. Clicking "search" within the dialog box results in opening up a second dialog box. But this only works the first time I click on "more search options". In other words, the second dialog box only opens up only once. To get the second dialog to open again, I have to reload the page in the browser.
