JQuery :: Plugins That Provide Similar Functionality?
Jul 22, 2009
I posted a while ago about the Truncate plugin not preserving html links in FF. I like the plugin, but it needs to present properly in FF. I couldn't figure it out and nobody responded. Is there any other plugins that provide similar funcationality?
I have an HTML page having a table and many columns.In that page i have to add new rows and cells dynamically. Adding new rows is working fine using inner HTML.But for particular textboxes i have two buttons namely "edit" and "save".the edit button will make the textbox editable and "save" button will make the textboxes in that row uneditable.Now my question is that as i am adding new rows using innerHTML how to add this functionality (making the textbox editable and uneditable) to the buttons that are dynamically created.
We have to develop a small engine which the client uses. It supposed to work like this. Our engine resides in a frame (frameA) which will be loaded only once and it provides set of functions. The client can call these functions. We inturn should get the values from the server or set the values in the server and return with the values. The way we are planning to implement is that we will have have another frame (frameB hidden) and submit it whenever the client (frameClient) calls our function and wait till the page reloads and return with the value ( set in the reloaded page by the server). The problem we face now is that we don't have any sleep functionality in javascript ( being event driven) and if we have a loop waiting for the reply, it will consume the cpu cycles and the the frameB wont load.
I have a relative path issue when using jQuery in that I am using the same ajax function sitewide and I don't know how I can send a request to a PHP file without needing to provide the full absolute path. For example, the below code works at top level, but will not work if called from inside a sub folder.
I am currently working on a site for my work. I have created the basics of the site in Joomla 1.5 as it is the easiest way for everyone in the business to be able to update pages on there own etc.
I am looking at being able to provide online print pricing/quotes.
An example i have found that i like can be found here [url] i like the layout style of how the quote is displayed and how everything seems to sit nicely together within the quote section.
As far as i am aware there is no Joomla component that can help me with this, however i have found a plugin that allows me to place javascript within an article.
Every 2 to 3 days I check the ticket system to see how the development of the latest JQueryUI 1.9 is doing and how the JQuery is doing. After several weeks of this I have found way too many tickets about IE6 issues and I started to ask myself why does JQuery and actually, many other projects still try to solve problems for somethings that is beyond repair. With this am talking to the fact that:
I have a quiz embedded on my site that originates elsewhere (QuizRevolution.com) and is embedded on my site via a link (plus some other code), part of that code being in an iframe. The quiz contains YouTube videos that, because of how the quiz is set up by QuizRevolution, will not play in browsers/devices without Flash (for example, the iPad). What I would like to do is put some script on my site that will load a SECOND quiz from QuizRevolution (this one without video) for browsers/devices without Flash. This second quiz will substitute for the first one. Does anyone know how to do this? The tricky part seems to be how I have embedded the quiz in my site, so I have included that part of the page here:
Does anyone know how to create a grid with grouping similar to itunes? I have searched the web and cannot find anything. I want to have a category and to the left and several topics to be grouped with that category. See image below.
I'd like to provide users with help regarding the form input areas with a help popup dialog box. I don't like the term popup because so many people block popups. I'll be providing a question mark next to the feature and if clicked would like a customizable dialog box to show with help text. There will be many of these involved and would like to know the best approach.
I'm looking for a jQuery slideshow plugin that will be similar to this MooTools effect http:[url]...Doesn't need to have the play/pause controls but I really like the way how the images are zoomed/moved and couldn't find any plugin for jQuery that will do the same.
What's the best simple way to filter elements by their index similar to the nth-of-type equation an+b , regardless of parent and node type? Something like...
$("input").filter(":nth-of-set(3n+1)")
... to filter every third input element (3n) starting with the first one (+1).
I wonder if jquery or javascript has the function adding line breaks which can be similar to nl2br() in PHP? This is the info i want to grab from a database, PHP will add line breaks (<br/>) when it is passed into nl2br(),
which works once the page hasn't been loaded using.load $(".toggle_cat_container").hide(); How do I adapt it to work when the page is loaded with .load? I am familiar with needing to use .live on click functions.
i.e. $("a[id^='mydiv']").click(function(e) { needing to be changed to: $("a[id^='mydiv]").live('click', function(e) {
My problem is that $(".toggle_cat_container").hide(); would trigger when the document was ready but when its loaded it won't trigger. What adaptation do I need? I suspect something similar to the below - just not getting it right $(".toggle_cat_container").live('onLoad', function(e) {
I have a small app, my first real ajax project, which gives you details for product availability, for each day. The user selects a day (from a calendar) and then a time slot within the day. The app then displays how many slots are available for purchase, on that day, for that time... I wanted to refresh the data, every 5s, to provide slick real time availability info... but alas, when you change day (look at another day and time), the old timer still runs with the old arguments, and so it keeps resetting the 'details' panel to the previous day's details... how do I reset the timer? or delete the old one?
I have used the jqueryui plugin for a couple of websites, and I've had this problem many times. I download the files to my site folder, and when I make the tab, the datepicker, the dialog, or any other, they look way bigger than what they are supossed to be. I've tried downloading the files again, and it looks the same way.
This is the first week I've been using jquery. I have successfully incorporatedthe "dialog" widget into a site. Now I'm trying to download and use plug-ins. I haven't found how to download a plug-in or instructions on how to install. (Maybe the instructions will show up in the download.)
I am trying to use 2 different jquery plugins on the same page of website. I can get one to work at a time, but not both at the same time. The plugins are a Countdown and Slider.I am a graphic designer, with very little javascript experience. The red code is for the Countdown and the blue code is for Slider
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I've beenstrugglingwith this for a while now and I don't believe I'm the only one. So let's hear it, how do you call to different plugins on one page and not clutter it with DOM ready's?I'm currently doing it like this, but there's probably a better way:
In the <head /> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
