JQuery :: Leave Script Open For Users Input?

to users input? And, just to be clear, I don't mean to CMS stuff. For example: let's imagine I want to make script that every enrolled number multiplies by 2 (I don't know if it's common for jQuery to do this, but it is just an example). User need to enroll number, let's say, in some bar, or little window that displays on screen. So, that is what I mean by open for user. Script interact with user textual information.How to leave script open for users inf.I mean, this is very often thing in various scripts like form validation, contact email forms etc. In fact, I am typing this in something like that

When you try to select some HTML modified by the user like an input, it returns the original html.
Example : <input type="text" value="" name="test" />
If the user write "something" in the textbox and then echo the html, the input value will still be null. (At least in firefox)
Is there a way to catch these inputs as well ?

I'm trying to figure out a way to add a simple tool to allow users to click an input box (or a nearby button if using the input box is not possible) and a small box will pop up displaying a bunch of images. When one of the images is clicked, I need a specific URL related to that image to be added to an input box. I've put together a demo page showing where I'm trying to use this: [URL].
As you can see in the demo, at the bottom of the page is an editing box, in that box is a small label of "Bkgrnd image" and there is an input box below that with a URL for an image in it. I want users to be able to either click the input box (or a nearby button if necessary) and a list of images to pop up for them to select from. When they click the image, a URL will replace the original one in the input box.

I'm attempting to make user's input choice dynamically create the scrambled word game. The only thing that changes between the HTML page, and the JS files is the Array used to make the game. I researched Dynamic Arrays, but was confused, as nothing seem related to what I'm doing. What I've got going is all wrong. I know there is a better way to do this, but am confused. SelAry I've tried using too, but I can't get that code to work either. I don't know where to put the eval function. I'd like to provide users with help regarding the form input areas with a help popup dialog box. I don't like the term popup because so many people block popups. I'll be providing a question mark next to the feature and if clicked would like a customizable dialog box to show with help text. There will be many of these involved and would like to know the best approach.

I am setting up a form to enter a chat queue on my website for work. The form script comes from the company we are using to host the chat, but the problem is that customers don't have to fill out anything to enter the queue. I want the users to have to fill out 3 of the 5 fields before they are able to click the sumbit button. I've found a few scripts on the web that looked they like would work, but they were all for radio selections, and I don't have enough javascript knowledge to switch the correct parameters to work with input.
This is the script I am using;

From what I understand, the bulk of the form script needs to stay the same so it directs to us and not another company.

I am using a very simple search-type page to enable users to input a model number and its page appears in a inline frame. Its not a true search as it is simply relying on a person entering the correct html page name to find it. But this works perfectly in my application.The problem I have is that I cannot get the type box to accept enter key as a submitt, only a click of the mouse will submitt the request. If enter is pressed the box loses the users input but no action is taken.I think this may be a javascript issue. I have posted the code below.

I've created a form using datepicker to choose the birthdate, now I'm trying to control what's in my inputs, but I have issues when it comes to the input of my datepicker
When I have focus on my input I diplay a message to guide the user, when the event blur happens I check if the input contains a valide date and display an alert when it's wrong, but the blur is launched even when the user clicks on the calendar of datepicker, so the alert message is displayed which isn't supposed to happen
I'm looking for a way to wait for the user to select a date before executing the blur, or at the blur event check if the calendar is open or closed before doing any control

I'm using superfish for a drop down hover menu. It works perfect except I would like the sub menus to remain visible when one of the <a> tag from the menu has class="active". Here is a quick overview of the menu html:

If the current page is main -- class='active' is automatically added to the A tag (with Drupal). If you are currently in page2, the class='active' is added to the A tag of the sub-menu. Now, how can I get the sub menu to be always displayed -- regardless of superfish, either when item parent 1 A tag is set as class='active'of the item child A tag is set as class='active'.

I want to put a little search on a single standalone webpage of names and numbers.
I'm using the code below - works a treat but when you first visit the page, you have to click in the search box before typing a string, How can I make it so that the input box is actively awaiting input upon the page being displayed?
Also as a second question.. can i make it so whenever 'enter' is pressed on the keyboard, the search button is effectively actioned/clicked so it highlights the next matching string?code...

Is there any way that I can get the first text input field to be active and READY for input.I am trying to save the user the trouble of clicking on the text input field before the user can type any information there. I have everything working accept the last part and I don't know what to do.function show() works and shows data entered in text box.function open_win() works,but I only need it to open when there is a input match say like the name Tom,otherwise I want function show() just to show the input.
Currently the new window opens every time the button is pressed needs to match input string only before window opens and then string print to window I think these two lines are the problems(whatever the input) document.getElementById('myDiv').innerHTML = string; And var bselect= "Tom" open_win(); I think I need to set var to the string printed to page to solve the last part. how to I get the blank window to the center of screen,as it covers the data in the function show.

I'm also having trouble with a popup on leave javascript. It seems that it
pops up when I browse to another page instead of waiting till I completely
leave my site. What am I doing wrong. Mind you, I'm using Front Page. I have

i have just started learning & understanding JavaScript. I am just trying to do a small project for my Brother regarding Leave Management, for which its required to Select the From Date & To Date, wherein the Total no. of days should be calculated, excluding the weekends.
I have just worked around to calculate the number of days but i am not sure how to exclude the Weekends. & what if the the Year is a Leap year - So how will i include the Extra days of Feb month. I am using RAD date-pickers to get the Value & split it.
But being a newbie to the Coding world i m really N'joyin the JavaScript....
Just need help regarding this coz i m totally helpless...
I am taking the 2 Dates from 2 Rad Datepickers & diplaying the Number of Days in a Text Box.

how to check if a user didn't leave the site.Ofcourse you can use the Onunload() or Beforeunonload() function.But some browsers like Opera and Safari and who know what other browsers don't support it. And I don't want to have false information about users still being there while they left.Is there any other alternative? Like expecting server side each X seconds a AJAX request from the user?If the user doesn't send a request, the user has left.

The online documentation for "slideDown" and "slideUp" says that only the height is affected by those routines. That claim is false: the value of "display" is also changed, and for me that's a problem. I have a div that's set up with "position: absolute" and "display:inline". I want that box to appear in the layout relative to its surrounding content, and that's the simplest way I know to do
that. I also want the box to be animated. I do not, however, want jQuery to touch my "display" alue, because setting it to "block" reaks the layout completely. Looking at the (not trivial to understand) code, it *appears* that the original value of the "display" attribute is saved, or rather that the code attempts to save it. However, that's not working for me: my divis definitely display:inline to start off, but a call to "slideUp" or "slideDown" always leaves it either "display: none" or "display:
block".
