If running off of the local filesystem, in Firefox, or if the security
settings are set appropriately, in Internet Exporer, XmlHttpRequests
can be sent to any domain of your chosing. But what about cookies?
Can cookies be accessed for any domain of your chosing?
For example, although www.domaina.tld can't access cookies for
www.domainb.tld, can c: access cookies for www.domainb.tld?
The way cookies are accessed in javascript (document.cookies) would
suggest not, but I just wanted to make sure.

to users input? And, just to be clear, I don't mean to CMS stuff. For example: let's imagine I want to make script that every enrolled number multiplies by 2 (I don't know if it's common for jQuery to do this, but it is just an example). User need to enroll number, let's say, in some bar, or little window that displays on screen. So, that is what I mean by open for user. Script interact with user textual information.How to leave script open for users inf.I mean, this is very often thing in various scripts like form validation, contact email forms etc. In fact, I am typing this in something like that

I'm using lytebox to open an iframe, but the iframe url is in another domain that the parent window. i need to close the iframe when user clicks a button. I can do that with javascript : top.$lb.end(); the $lb.end(); starts lytebox scripts in parent window which close the iframe and modify all the css stuff. That works when my iframe url is in the same domain. But when it's in another domain, that does'nt work.

I need a Javascript that will delete specific cookies when a popup window is closed.
So, the idea is when a user clicks on our link, that link takes the user to a popup window where they can enter information on an external site. We need the script to delete specific cookies that were saved after the popup window is engaged. Upon the popup window closing, I need the specific cookies deleted.
I have the name of 3 cookies that engaged when the popup window is open.

I have multiple parent sections on the page. Each section has 3 child sections. Each parent toggles open and closed. and within each section there are buttons to toggle the children open and closed.
In the case of both the parents and their children, when a parent is toggled open I want the other parents to toggle closed . The same applies to the children of each parent. I want to close all the other open children when a child is toggled open. Rather like some accordions - which I can not use for this function. This way there is only one parent and one child open at any time
Because of the number of parents and children on the page I can not use Ids. All are designated by classes

Trying to learn the basics... Here is a script for three toggle buttons that each when clicked open their corresponding divs. Fine. Now how does one go about automatically closing an open div when clicking on a new 'toggler' that opens it's div? I see other posts about this very question, but I'm just not grasping the logic.
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$("#toggle1").click(function () {
$("#toggle1div").toggle("drop", {direction:"right"}, 500);
});
$("#toggle2").click(function () {

Before the user can close a page, I would like to have a message come up that asks if this is really what they want to do. the page needs to stay open.
I got this, edited, from msdn
function closeIt()
{
event.returnValue = "";
}
<body onbeforeunload="closeIt()" >
It works just fine, too well. I get the message when the user refreshes the page, something I do not want. Any thoughts?

Ok after much research I have created a script that will search godaddy for domains using javascript. Now the problem is that it doesn't open in a new window when you click search. How do I get the script to open the godaddy results in a new window? btw target="_blank" isn't working.
CODE:
<form onsubmit="var loc='http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/registrar/search.asp?domainToCheck='+this.elements[0].value+'/';location.href=loc;return false" method="post" action="" target="_blank">
<input name="query" size="38" style="border: 1px solid rgb(126, 157, 185);" value="" type="text">

Using Javascript, ASP.net with C# code behind. I am validating a textbox using the onblur event. It is being validated in that it must have an alphanumeric entry before the user tabs off of it to the next box. The validation part works, the part that doesn't work is that I get the validation alert textbox if I close the window. I have a workaround in that I am assigning that textbox a character using windo.onberforeunload but I know that isn't right.
Here is what I have so far...
Code behind on Page_Load...
txtCLBRTNWC.Attributes.Add("onblur", "return reqVLD(this)");
Here is my textbox field...
<asp:TextBox ID="txtCLBRTNWC" runat="server" Width="75" MaxLength="4"
ontextchanged="txtCLBRTNWC_TextChanged" TabIndex="1"
onkeyup="clbwclngCHK(this);" ></asp:TextBox>
And here are the 2 functions being used...
function reqVLD(alphanumericChar){
var chk = /^[a-zA-Z0-9]+$/;
// var boxid = document.getElementById("<%=txtCLBRTNWC.ClientID%>").value;
// var matchArray = boxid.match(chk);
if(document.getElementById("<%=txtCLBRTNWC.ClientID%>").value.match(chk)){
return true;
} else {
document.getElementById("<%=txtCLBRTNWC.ClientID%>").focus();
document.getElementById("<%=txtCLBRTNWC.ClientID%>").value = "";
alert("Please enter a Work Center.");
return false;
}}
function clbwclngCHK(obj_in)//When txtCLBRTNWC entry hits the max of 4 auto focuses to next box. {
if (obj_in.value.length == 4) document.getElementById("<%=txtSTRTDT.ClientID%>").focus();
}
Here is my work around...
window.onbeforeunload = function (){
document.getElementById("<%=txtCLBRTNWC.ClientID%>").value = "1";
}
User has to enter something in box before they can move on. This is checked and validating using an onblur event. Problem is, the onblur event fires if closingexiting the window.

I am encountering a problem where I have a window and there are three
frames, one in the left, right and in the bottom. The bottom most frame has
common submit buttons. There are several tabs in left frame. Each one loads
a different form on the right frame. After fetching the contents of the form
from user, I am validating the text fields in the form using onChange() event
handler. After entering the text value in the textbox, if I press Submit
directly, the "Submit" as well as the validation routine happens concurrently.
Only at the end of validation, the field is marked as dirty. Now, if field is not
marked dirty, the Submit function will close the window without actually
submitting as nothing was changed. So when an invalid value is entered and
the Submit is pressed directly, an alert pops up temporarily but the close()
call from the parent frame immediately closes the alert window before user
can respond. This problem does not occur in IE as in IE, unless the alert
window is responded, the close() call cannot close the alert window. Code:

But it doesn't close any windows, not even the one it just opened. Any
