View 5 RepliesI have 4 text boxes that are supposed to load 4 seperate values of data from one field in one table from a database. The field is called interface_cropsettings (from the interface table) and these values have been concatenated and comma seperated in this field.
Code:
Once the form is filled out and saved, the data is inserted into the database and the values from these 4 text boxes are concatenated, comma seperated and inserted into that one field correctly.
(Example)
If the 4 text boxes have the following values:
In the database field they become:
However, if the form is closed and then re-opened, each text box displays the entire database field rather then each value seperated in the corresponding text box.
(Example)
All 4 text boxes display this:
I already know why the data appears like this in the form, my problem is that I'm not sure how to write the javascript to seperate the values into the correct corresponding fields, assuming javascript is what I should be using!
Also, this is kind of irrelevant but just in case you're wondering, this form is part of a cold fusion application!

This is a simple meal order selection.When i click on the radio button,it will insert a new row to a table and insert the value. And there also got delete button to delete each row.
After finish order,i need to total up the prices.But,when i click on the calculate button, it shown error on page.How can i get the values and total up all the values?
My problem is that I have a table where I show products and costs, then when I entry the amount other cell be updated with the overall
For example:
The amount is entried for the user, it's a textfield
For example I have this code, but doesn't work good
See this page -> [url]
How can I get the sum of cell values that is checked after submitting the form...here's the basic html that I have..
Code HTML4Strict:
<form>
<table>
[code].....
I have some TD tags like this
I want to give the cells a background color green, where Percentage to Total Balance when added together exceeds or equal to 60%.
For example row 3, row 4 and row 5
I have a form that gets values that a user has selected from a list menu field, that end up like this added to the URL:[url]
Instead of the Field being mentioned more than once, how can I have it where it could mention the field once with the values coma separated eg:[url]
Would I use JS to change the URL? or VBscript?
I have this layout
And then I have this code to determine the cell height.
So basically I need both my first and last cells to be able to have the mainbody cells height, but that code only works when placed in or after the cell being measured, in this case "mainbody", my question is this, is their a way to get the size of the mainbody cell before its done loading somehow?
I have a javascript program that uses a HTML table as an Excel-like grid. The user can use arrow keys to navigation the grid. When the user selects a cell and then hits <Enter> key, the program turns the cell from read-only to editable (an input box), and select all the text in the input box. When the user hits <Esc>, the program cancels the changes that the user has made and turns the cell back to read-only. So far so good. The problem is that as soon as the user hits <Esc> key and turns the cell back to read-only, I find that I cannot move the input focus back to the cell any more. Actually I cannot move the input focus back to _any_ cell in the table. When this happens, the user cannot use arrow keys to navigate the grid any more (like the grid has lost the input focus). The user needs to use the mouse to click at a cell in the table to get things working again.
The user can get around with this problem by un-selecting the text from the input-box before hitting <Esc>. But this is not something that I expect the user to remember to do. I need a way to fix this problem. I tried the logical thing and programmatically un-select the text before turning the cell back to read-only. But this actually made thing worse - this causes the workaround to stop working.
The only browsers that I have tested this program is IE6 and IE8. I have not tested this in any other browser.
Attached is a simplified version of the program that can show this problem in action. This simplified program first adds an empty table on the web page, and then creates an instance of the CEstGrid class that takes care of the grid. CEstGrid will add two rows of test data into the table with two columns in each row. The user should use a mouse to click at one of the cell, and the cell should be highlighted. The user uses arrow keys to navigate the table. When he reaches the end of the table, he will wrap around to the other side of the table. Let say the user reaches the cell in row-1 column-2, he hits <Enter> to change the cell to editable. He will find the text in that cell to be highlighted. When he hits <Esc> at this moment, he will find that he cannot use the arrow keys to navigate the table any more, and this is the problem. Please rename the test program from .TXT to .HTML to test it.
I have a form where when three numbers are typed I want to move to the next cell so I found this code on the web
Code:
But when I put it in my web page I get one of those java errors in the bottom left of my internet explorer, is something wrong with this code?
imagine table with 15 rows and 3 columns. If I move mouse over any cell I want some other specific cells to change their borders like with pseudo-class :
example
<style>
.boryellow {border: 3px solid yellow}
.borblue {border: 3px solid black}
</style>
this will work, a cell can change itself
<td name="third" class="boryellow" onmouseover="this.className='borblue'" onmouseout="this.className='boryellow'">cell</td>
even when dealing with empty images - click on link will change border of different element - imgs, but not span or td ...
<a href="#" onclick="document.all.xxx.className='borblue'; document.all['name'].className='borblue';
[code].....
Replacing any element link by "third" or "spanx" will cause stuck ant not executing other actions.
In my jsp project i am using the calendar control which selects the Birth Date of the client and on that basis it calculates the age after completion of all the fields user get registered successfully.but when registered user trying to update his date of birth his age field is blank, tell me why this happening Also tell me the javascript function.
My jsp code is:
Whenever I try to join variables I get results for first item (CustNum) only...PartNum returns as 'undefined'.
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".mybutton").click(function(event) {
$("#myDiv").load("Test.asp?CustNum="+ $('#CustNum').val() +"&PartNum="
+ $('#PartNum').val());
});
});
<script language="JavaScript">
function changeColor(cell_id){var state1="#dde6ed"; var state2="#ffc20e"; var cellid = new Array ("id1", "id2", "id3", "id4", "id5", "id6"); for(var i = 0; i < cellid.length; i++){var nav = document.getElementById(cellid[i]); if(cellid == nav.id){nav.style.backgroundColor=state2;} else {nav.style.backgroundColor=state1;}}}
</script>
what is wrong with this script. I put an onClick= changeColor(this);" in my <td> tag to call the script but still not working.

I'm what you could call a total newcomer to jQuery. I've got a page with a jQuery DatePicker in which I wan't to block out some specific dates that are fetched from an MS-SQL database (I'm using ASP.NET). I've gotten so far as to understand that in order to accomplish this, I should create a .aspx page that returns only the blocked dates as a string. It's done, however, I really don't understand how I am to load the string into the jQuery script.. :P
[Code]...
My code looks like this:
$('#edit' .postcontent').load('admin-ajax.php', {'action':'qe-
getpost'});
Everything works great - the returned value is loaded into .postcontent perfectly. However, a 0 is appended to the end. Every time. Even if I return nothing, a lonely 0 shows up inside .postcontent.
I'm currently using this bit of code which submits some form values to a php script which then returns the results into the target html as specified.
Code:
$("#ajax_totals").load("shop/calculate_order_cost", $("#shop_form").serializeArray());
However what i'd like to do is submit the form items using serializeArray but then return multiple items from the php script and insert them in multiple places on the page, not just in the form itself.
I know i could simply use that line of code 4 times over with 4 different html targets but i don't feel it is very efficient or DRY. So i'd like to know the best way to submit multiple values to a php script, return multiple responses and use those responses in multiple places in the html.
I'm handling a form submission event. Is there a way to modifiy the value of a text input within the form before the form is finally submitted? I tried setting the value using, 'val()' - it updated the text field but the value sent with the POST was the original value
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a table with two rows and 4 columns, the first cell has rowspan of 2. How do I insert something into the first cell only? How can I get the cell index of the first cell?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI put the following line in the onchange tag of a listbox to use the values to manipulate an iframe:
document.getElementById('viewer').src=('Location_Files/')+(this.value)+('.htm') There it works perfectly but I wanted to do more so I decided to build a function around it:
function display()
{
document.getElementById('viewer').src=('Location_Files/')+(this.value)+('.htm')
}
When I put the function in the onchange tag instead, the iframe tries to work but I get a "can't load page" message like the src is broken. Now when I first made that line it took me hours to figure out that I can't use a "" because if I do it fails. So I went with "/" and that works but I wonder if that rules change when I specify it in the java script instead of in the onchange tag itself. Either way it still breaks if I try to use "".
I have a form that has many text boxes that the user enters the
quantity of an item. Each item has a unit value.
How do I display on the page the total value of each item next to each
text box as the user enters the quantity in each text box in turn.
I feel the "onblur" event may be the event to use for each text box but
can't seem to get the calculated value displayed on the page.
Can someone help with some javascript for a form? here's what I need:
I have 10 option fields that allow the numbers 1 - 10. I need to use javascript to allow the total of all fields to equal 10, no more, no less.
What code should I use? I know barely any JS.
I need another set of eyes on this. I can't see what I'm doing wrong here:
Code:
<TR>
<TD width=100><P class = "query">First name:</P>
<TD width=75><INPUT size=20 name='FirstName' />
<TR>
<TD width=100><P class = "query">Address:</P>
<TD width=75 colspan="3"><INPUT size=40 name='AddLine1' />
<TR>
<TD width=100><P class = "query"></P>
<TD width=75><INPUT size=40 name='AddLine2' />
<TR>
<TD width=104><P class = "query">City, State, Zip</P>
<TD><INPUT size=30 name='City'>
When the code below gets hold of the form above it sees the AddLine1 and AddLine2 values and returns undefined for FirstName, LastName, and City.
Code:
var theForm = document.memPage;
var FirstName = theForm.FirstName.value;
var LastName = theForm.LastName.value;
var AddLine1 = theForm.AddLine1.value;
var AddLine2 = theForm.AddLine2.value;
var City = theForm.City.value;
Can anyone here tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I have a form where dob is generated using 3 select boxes, 1 for day, month and year. My output needs to be in the form dob=dd-mm-yyyy rather than day=dd, month=mm and year=yyyy.It has been suggested that i do the following:
"On submit button click, use JS to create a hidden input (Q5) in the form and assign its value, then disable the day, month, and year fields so they are not submitted."
I have a textarea on my page and I wonder if its possible for a visitor to type in something in the textarea and then it will store in XML is it possible?
