I have 8 peices of data in an Array and I need to add the final 6 to give me a total, but the results are not what I expected. Array example - Code:
var Networking_2009_1 = ['Justin Hopkins','JBH','1','2','3','4','5','6'];
I am adding the values like this -
Code: var feeEarnerTotal = 0; for(t in Networking_2009_1) { if(t > 1) // 0 and 1 are the Long Name and Short Name, so must be skipped { feeEarnerTotal = feeEarnerTotal + Networking_2009_1[t]; } }
The problem is that when the value is output to the screen it is '123456' rather that '21' as expected. I suspect this is because there is writte data also in the Array, but I'm not sure how to fix it.
Everything works great - the returned value is loaded into .postcontent perfectly. However, a 0 is appended to the end. Every time. Even if I return nothing, a lonely 0 shows up inside .postcontent.
I'm trying to clean the HTML DOM which my script creates by wrapping, appending, adding css.. etc. so I needed to join the same identical tags together like: <font style="font-size:12px;color:#bbee00">My </font><font style="font-size:12px;color:#bbee00">Plugin</font>
and then if there's any tag with empty style attribute, remove the tag but keep the contents for example:
<font style="">Example</font> to "Example". The second seems to be easy with unwrap() (I didn't tried it yet) so about the first one.. Has anyone an idea how to do it? It might be a DOM tree inside the element so it should work multidimensional :)
I have the following code to load some pages into a div using the load function. When I click one of the links though, nothing happens. I have read a couple of books on JQuery and looking at the examples they give, this looks correct so I am at a loss.
I have an array of objects that I would like to sort through and "join" objects that are the same. And if they are the same, I need to sum up the number value given for those two items. So I guess Im sorting through and maybe even recreating this array to get rid of duplicates while I tally quantities. see the screenshot of my array of objects to help understand better. The highlighted 'sPSPN' would indicate that it is a duplicate item and its 'fUnits' need to be totalled. in the end I would have a total of 3 objects, because 'sPSPN'= BT-221-44 would now be only one object with 'fUnits' = 35.
I have an array of strings. Some of the strings have a continuation character at the end (in this case '='). What I need to do is append the element that contains that character (eliminating it) with the next element and reduce the size of the array by 1. My problem is arising (I used variations of split/join) when that character occurs someplace other than the end of the string. How can I check the last character in a string element and join it with the next string element? TIA. I can do it using brute force but am looking for something more elegant if possible.
Code: for ($i=0; $i<$lines.length; $i++) { if ($lines[$i].substr($lines[$i].length-1)=="=") { $lines[$i]=$lines[$i].substr(0,$lines[$i].length1)+$lines[$i+1]; $lines.splice($i+1,1); $i--; } }
In part of my form, I have 3 inputs (one textarea and two text inputs),I am validating their value format using AJAX (each input triggers error message on its label in case format is wrong). Also I have one button, "NOT submit button" (type = button).Now, when clicking on the button it must enter the value of those three inputs in my database in case they are true then all inputs values must be cleared. In case AJAX validation is wrong and in case the user clicked on that button, the value of fields must kept as it is.
Actually I can not use submit button because I have it for the whole form and what I am taking about is a part of the form and it's not possible to make nested forms as I know it violates html rules. It's easy to make it if I am taking about submitting button as I can view session values on fields after submission in case ajax returns error.I can clear inputs from Javascript, but it will be cleared on both cases if AJAX validation true or wrong. Each input field has AJAX Error message that will be triggered when the input format is wrong.
I have 4 text boxes that are supposed to load 4 seperate values of data from one field in one table from a database. The field is called interface_cropsettings (from the interface table) and these values have been concatenated and comma seperated in this field.
Code:
Once the form is filled out and saved, the data is inserted into the database and the values from these 4 text boxes are concatenated, comma seperated and inserted into that one field correctly.
(Example)
If the 4 text boxes have the following values:
In the database field they become:
However, if the form is closed and then re-opened, each text box displays the entire database field rather then each value seperated in the corresponding text box.
(Example)
All 4 text boxes display this:
I already know why the data appears like this in the form, my problem is that I'm not sure how to write the javascript to seperate the values into the correct corresponding fields, assuming javascript is what I should be using!
Also, this is kind of irrelevant but just in case you're wondering, this form is part of a cold fusion application!
I need to get the values of two hidden fields and values that make a query in my database and return this column to a text field in the same form, I have already informed the forum here that can do that with Ajax, researched and made an example But it is not working.
I'm what you could call a total newcomer to jQuery. I've got a page with a jQuery DatePicker in which I wan't to block out some specific dates that are fetched from an MS-SQL database (I'm using ASP.NET). I've gotten so far as to understand that in order to accomplish this, I should create a .aspx page that returns only the blocked dates as a string. It's done, however, I really don't understand how I am to load the string into the jQuery script.. :P
However what i'd like to do is submit the form items using serializeArray but then return multiple items from the php script and insert them in multiple places on the page, not just in the form itself.
I know i could simply use that line of code 4 times over with 4 different html targets but i don't feel it is very efficient or DRY. So i'd like to know the best way to submit multiple values to a php script, return multiple responses and use those responses in multiple places in the html.
My web page consists of 3 js jquery.js, a.js and b.js. This js are in order one after the another as posted. I have ajax call in a.js $.ajax inside a function fun() and this function is getting called from b.js function fun()return the value objtained from ajax call.No here is the tricky thing. Everything executes fine but in my b.js from where i am calling fun i am not able to get the returned by fun;But if i simply have an alert box then i am able to get the value/I tried jquery ajax with asynch attribute as false But still no results
I'm loading some page content with the ajax load event. The loaded content contains some <script> function calls. These appear to get evaluated, but the script ( a google map ) doesn't perform as expected.
Is the inline function run with the code on its page, or with the scripts on the page I'm loading it into?
I load content to div using ajax. In that new loaded content are anchors which make another ajax requests, but they don't work. I suppose that it's caused by $(document).ready();
For example:
Anchor with class '.dokosika' in loaded content doesn't work as I want to...
<div id='ad_fulldiv'> //Some text and images <div id='ad_content''> require_once('/include/adcontent.inc.php'); </div> </div>
I have also a Jquery code with Ajax request. In the file adcontent.inc.php there is a switch loop which echoes random content what depends on the content in a database. After the user clicks on a button a Ajax request is called which updates the database. After success the div ad_content should fadeout en should be reloaded with adcontent.inc.php. It should have other content now, because the Database is updates.
But how can I reload the div? I think the load option doesnt work.
I am having trouble with jumping into ajax. My old application is all php and I was trying to switch it to ajax for the users who have javascript so there is less page refreshing but also to keep the links working for those who don't or don't want the change. Here is a test files I've been working with: Code HTML4Strict: <html> <head><script src="[URL]" type="text/javascript"></script></head> <body> <div> <div id="content"> <script type="text/javascript"> $('h1').live('click', function(){ alert('I clicked H1');}); </script> <h1>Can you see me now?</h1> </div> </div> </body> </html>
Loaded just like that everything works fine. However, when loaded via ajax from this file: (jQuery is loaded above this and this is all in <head>) Code HTML4Strict: $(document).ready(function(){ $.ajax({ url: thisurl, success: function(html){ var stuff = $("#content", html); $("#main").empty(); $("#main").append(stuff); }, error: function() { alert("AJAX ERROR"); } });
Everything is closed properly, etc. even if it doesn't show here, this is just an excerpt. This url is a variable that pulls the href field from my hijax script. So, for the ajax call, I just want the stuff in the content div, and not the whole page. If I take off the #content I get the whole page and all the javascript works. Like this, with the #content, the javascript doesn't run and doesn't appear to load into the DOM.
I am trying to assign a value to a java variable inside the script that I am calling via ajax but once the call is over it shows variable as undefined:
i want to load my entire front page with jquery, after a button is hit. Something like redirect to front-page.
I've already got the handler on the button, that executes document.location.href = '/index.php' Its working, but i'd like to make its behave like(pseudocode): $.ajax('/index.php') or: $.load('/index.php')
Is that possible, and if it is, how can i do that?
