When my page loads, it automatically jumps down as if it were jumping to a named anchor. It's more apparent on longer pages (doesn't replicate if page fills screen). View 4 RepliesI have a section at the bottom of one of my pages that gets data that can be further filtered by weeks. Users can click on any of the weeks to see the data that applies only to that week. This works just fine, but when the function finishes and replaces the html content of the div, the page jumps to the top so that the user has to scroll back down to see the results. I'd like to avoid that. [code]...
It's nothing terribly complicated. The 'weekSelection' links are disabled until a stakeholder is chosen, then they're good to go. The weird bit at the url variable is just some ASP.NET MVC stuff.The StakeholderForecasting div gets its contents replaced and all will be good as soon as I can maintain the page's position.
At the moment my page will jump to the top (because of the #) whenever a new tab is clicked or when it automatically rotates to one.
Is there a way to stop this, maybe using an onclick event instead of relying on the #tabs links?
I am using on my site image slider and a drop-down menu.On different pages they work pretty good, but when i put them on the same page i am loosing drop down menu.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm far from a JQ guru but I built a page using two plug ins (slides and pagination) If I run just the pagination plug in ( for the images thumbnails ) and the slides plug in ( WITHOUT) the function code both seem to work OK. But I need the slide function code for the slides plug in to rotate the images as well and when I do this I get a grey area displaying the image numbers in between the div containing the slide and the footer, rendering the thumbnails not to work as well as the footer pop up menu does not function either see links below

The problem I am having is that on the main content page, you scroll down, click on link to pop up (page loads) but the main parent content jumps back to the top of page, meaning you have to scroll back down to where you were.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I call FadeTo or Hide, the fontstyling on my elements seems to get lost. This happens with both1.3.2 and 1.4.1 on IE8, running IIS6 on my local Windows machine. The attachment illustrates the problem. Click the Hide/Show button to toggle between the states. With minor and obvious modifications in the source code you can switch back and forth between the FadeTo and Hide/Show techniques. Both are set to happen slowly, so thatyou can see that the problem begins immediately as soon as the function is called. The font style on the screen visibly changes, and remains corrupted afterwards as you toggle back and forth. My own classes on the elements, linked to the embedded CSS,remain unchanged througout the scenario.The attachment is named test.txt because, of all things, this site doesn't seem to allow htm files to be attached. Rename it to test.htm (youwill also have to adjust the path to your jquery file) and give it a run.I'm a noob,so I fully expect that there's a simple explanation for this. I look forward to it.

Javascript handles the mouseover and mouseout events to set the background of the menu item/table element with an image. It works great. What my issue is right now is that when the user loads the Home page, I want that to have the background of the item already set. I had a function to do this with a switch clause in a separate javascript file. This function was called immediately (left it outside of any functions so it would execute first). But I'm getting an error because the actual element (a table) to set the background doesn't exist yet.

I'm making the Back to Top link into something more complex, and it will require three or four lines of code.
So that I don't have to repeat the code 50 times, and create a burden when I need to edit it, I want to place it in a .js file and call it x. Then below the information for each state I'll simply have:
Does calling code from a .js file 50 times slow down the page load? Which method would load faster?
Is it faster/more beneficial to have two snippets of code be generated by php at 2 different urls and then have a load function for each url? Or have the two snippets on one page, surrounded by id's and then load them that way?
