Edit A Web Page Using A Editor And Display New Content In Same Page
Aug 18, 2010
I am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text.
Now, I need help for the below issues:
1. Suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages.
2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page.
I have divs that contain html text. What I need is when I move mouse over that div link is displayed to edit content.
I have such code: $J('div.editable_content').mouseover(function(event) { $J(event.target).css("border", "1px solid black"); $J('div.content_edit', event.target).show(); return true; }).mouseout(function(event) { $J(event.target).css("border", "0px"); setTimeout(function(){ $J('div.content_edit', event.target).hide(); }, 2000); return true; });
But the problem is that if I move mouse on content that is inside this div (for example image) than mouseout event is triggered. One solution would be adding this event to all elements inside that div. What selector should I use to select all elements inside div ("div.editable_content *" and "div.editable_content > *" does not seem to work for this problem)? Any better solutions how to do this without attaching events to all elements?
this is the code I'm using in order to display the contents of an xml file into a page. It's working fine with IE but with Firefox.I have searched over intrenet and have applied all suggestions I've found about this issue. Unfortunately it's still not working
function importXML() { if (document.implementation && document.implementation.createDocument)
I have a simple how to question and I'm fairly sure the answer is equally simple, however I'm new to web developing and searching the web didn't help me any further either. Maybe the question hasn't been raised because the answer is too obvious?
Anyway: I want to have one classic textarea/textbox with a submit button, such that when some one enters text in this area and hits the submit button, this same text is displayed elsewhere on the page (this may be displayed in a second textarea as long as I can hide its area borders so it looks as if the text gets displayed on the page itself). Preferably, the input text in the first area should be pretty standard, but the displayed content should be larger and in a different font.
I know that when you "display: none" with CSS it will not show the div content in the browser, but will still show the div and content in page source.Is there a way (via javascript or anything else) to also remove the content from page source at the same time?
I'm trying to display content dynamically in a DIV My Script is a merge of two other scripts I found online one function (showUser) uses a GET method and the other (funcionPost) uses a POST method independently they work like a charm, but combined in the same script they throw some issues.

I've been looking for a way to edit table data in a mysql db without having to refresh the page. I found DHTMLX GRID [URL] which is amazing, I just can't afford it right now. I have have lazy users who don't want to have to click submit to make a change.
i just came from the CSS board, where i asked if it was possible to edit a pages css from the main page through a IFrame. I have posted all code there, take a look: [URL] Just wondering if its possible, and if it is possible, how?
I have Google Mail login page, saved locally to C: disk. I want to edit its source so, that when entered username and password and clicked on "Login" button it did absolutelly nothing, but the form did not reset. I tried deleting from the source "form action = https"//....", "method = post", "onsubmit = ...".
So, when the form is submitted, nothing happens(as I want it to be), but the field values are reset(what I want to avoid). I also tried inserting to source code "form onsubmit = return false", but the username and password values are still reset.
I'm working on my personal website [URL] and I'm trying to use Javascript to edit some of the height and size attributes of elements on the page, based on the user's window size. I've got the code that gets the window size working, and calculates what I want to set as the "boxSize" but the part that goes into the external CSS to change the values is not working. "boxSize" is a variable that holds just a number. I'm not sure if it's really stored as a number or a string, but I don't think that's supposed to affect anything.
I'm just putting in the relevant part of the code right where it's failing. I figured out (using alert() statements) that the script is definitely working right up until before the two lines given, and failing to get through them.
Stuck in the bottom-right corner of this page is a Social Media sharing tool floating over the page content. It's semi-transparency changes upon hover. It grows out from the corner upon hover as well. [URL] I'm thinking it's ShareBar but I don't see anything like it on the ShareBar site.

Here is the preliminary design of a site I'm making in Adobe GoLive (CS2) in OSX Snow Leopard:I'm using CSS for the layout.What I'd like to do is have the nav menu at left be a separate HTML page that I only have to edit once, and then have repeated throughout the site.I achieved something similar with a javascript code I learned from a friend for the title and top menu of this site:The script on the ScorpioMartianus page looks like this:
I am making a webpage that can query a database table of employees and return them in a html table. Currently I have submit buttons beside each employee to open the page to edit their details. I have been using php/HTML to do this, but wondered if it is safe to use javascript to just click on the name of the employee to jump to the edit page. I've been looking on the web for sometime about how to do this without any luck. Any thoughts?
I have a simple page with an iframe on; frame.html Inside this frame is a simply page; page1.html. Page1.html has a link to a stylesheet called style1.css.There is also a hyperlink to page2.html. Page2.html has a link to a stylesheet called style2.css.Now what I want to achieve is for the main page, frame.html, to style itself according to whatever is contained in page1.css, as it is page1.html on the frame. When the user uses the hyperlink and jumps to page2.html, frame.html should automatically restyle itself according to page2.css.
I want to display the title of my pages (the title which appears on the top of your browser window) in the actual page aswell. How do i do this, i need javascript or some kidn fo script to look at the title and then write it to the page.
finding a "find on page" script that will display the results in the middle of the page for IE. I have tried several different ones to no avail. The ones that work in all the browsers display the result in IE at the very bottom of the page. I am not very familiar with programing in Java and I am unable to modify any for my needs. The one I found that did work in IE didn't work in any other browsers.
