I was browsing the jQuery site and the mouse position tutorial page has some questionable links.
I tried to edit the page to remove them, but the page has been locked to editing.
I am using mouse x,y onclick in one div (if mouse is in one set of coordinate range) to determine whether or not to show/hide another div, and am stumped as to how to compensate for the user changing page size, as the coordinates change. Is there an absolute xy, regardless of page/text size, or code to compensate for it? What is going on here is I have flash that I have no control over (wix) and I need to show Html (which wix doesn't), so I am having to determine if the user is over a certain button in the swf which I put in a div to give me some control over the flash. I'm using on click to bring the HTML to the front in a certain position, while the flash does its animation thing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text.
Now, I need help for the below issues:
1. Suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages.
2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page.
We are building a web app that will require non-technical people to build and edit a single HTML "home page". Ideally it would allow them to add blocks of text and images to the page, change simple styles, and add and maintain links.
I don't even know how to go about searching for such a thing. It's basically like a single page simple CMS. Something like CKEditor could be used for the individual blocks, but I was wondering if there was anything out there that allow us to put this together rapidly via the power of jQuery.
I found "editease" [URL] which looks close... but it's a bit out of date and it depends upon PHP. We run ColdFusion, but could port over PHP if we needed to.
Is there a way to make a script that edits something on a different page.

I want to edit its source so, that when entered username and password and clicked on "Login" button it did absolutelly nothing, but the form did not reset. I tried deleting from the source "form action = https"//....", "method = post", "onsubmit = ...".
So, when the form is submitted, nothing happens(as I want it to be), but the field values are reset(what I want to avoid). I also tried inserting to source code "form onsubmit = return false", but the username and password values are still reset.
I'm working on my personal website [URL] and I'm trying to use Javascript to edit some of the height and size attributes of elements on the page, based on the user's window size. I've got the code that gets the window size working, and calculates what I want to set as the "boxSize" but the part that goes into the external CSS to change the values is not working. "boxSize" is a variable that holds just a number. I'm not sure if it's really stored as a number or a string, but I don't think that's supposed to affect anything.
I'm just putting in the relevant part of the code right where it's failing. I figured out (using alert() statements) that the script is definitely working right up until before the two lines given, and failing to get through them.

I am making a webpage that can query a database table of employees
and return them in a html table. Currently I have submit buttons beside
each employee to open the page to edit their details. I have been using
php/HTML to do this, but wondered if it is safe to use javascript to
just click on the name of the employee to jump to the edit page. I've
been looking on the web for sometime about how to do this without any
luck. Any thoughts?
Is there a plugin for that so when you go to the next page to get same position which you were from the previous page?

View 6 Replies View RelatedHave a web app which consists of a form and have it set up to launch a dialog box containing information next to the subject label text field.Everytime, someone fills out the form and clicks on submit, the form's message body (from the text area of the form) is displayed on top and theform is displayed underneath it. Before, I had it set up as fixed (x,y) for the dialog box to appear next to the subject label. But, now, whenthe page becomes longer, the dialog box doesn't appear next to my subject label text field. It is displayed a lot lower.

How can I set it so my findPosition() calculation doesn't miscalculate when the page is too long (when scroll bars are needed)?
Is there a way to set the relative positioning to always have the dialog appear 40px right of the subject label?
How would I start to go about this? I'd like an <h3> to display and slide in whenever the user scrolls to a certain position on the page. For example, once a certain content div is 50% displayed in the viewport, I'd like the animation to fire.

Every time you click on one of the links in the navigation menu, you will notice that after a new page is loaded there is a sudden jump from the balls original position to it's new position. (Not that obvious in Firefox but very obvious in IE and Safari) My question is how can I resolve this.
I assumed that wrapping the code in the $(document).ready function would elimate this issue as everything inside it will load before the page contents are loaded.
