I am trying to create a series of links that will show an element and then open up up the a different element for each. I have it so that I can create on, how I can get it to do 2 times.

This is something I just can't seem to get to work at all. The script I am trying to make work is a fairly simple concept. I have a series of links generated from a database. Each link is a product category. The number of links depends on the number of products in the database. Threfore, to give each link a unique id, I append the product's unique key from the database to the end of the link name, so no matter how many products are in the database, each element id is unique. No problem there. The links all put the correct product info into the div when clicked. (To be accurate, it isn't really a link onclick it's an AJAX call. That is irrelevant.)
However, each 'link' also has a mouseover function that displays a set of thumbnails in the div. Specifically, this is the problem. Once the 'link' has been clicked, I want to disable the mouseover event. After the click, the div shows specific product information, because that is what the customer is interested in but if they move the mouse up or down, they get a set of thumbnails for stuff they don't want.Back to the programming. This is how I have tried to disable the thumbnails, (tinythumbs function)

I'm basically trying to make it so a link click will hide and display a series of DIVs to make my site look a bit neater and more professional. The code I have WORKS, it can make a DIV appear and disappear easily enough but the issue I'm having is that it only works if you click the same link to show nad hide. Click a link to show a DIV then click another link and both will be visible.
But the only other code I tried to hide all but the selected DIV just results in my page becoming invisible (Its constructed with DIVs from top to bottom) so its not a suitable result. I'm basically after this: [URL]. Where you click on the link (in this case an image) and it shows what you need. I did try searching through their HTML and code but their javascript file appears as one long string to me so its hard to find any real useful detail.

The Problem is that the serialize function only sees the first checkbox and indicates whether it has been checked or not. It does not see any of the other check boxes. Does anybody have an idea why the other check boxes do not get serialized and what to do about it?
I'm using jquery/ajax to create some links with window.open method. Here's the relevant code:

Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
I have three radio buttons, and when a certain radio is selected I want to show a series of checkboxes. If the other two radio buttons are selected, I want to hide the checkboxes. I *think* the problem is that I am using the wrong syntax to call the click() function on the radio "name" attribute.

I'm trying to create a questionnaire style series of radio buttons which are hidden and then a different set of radio buttons displayed depending on the previous answer. eg
Q1 Is it a man? (if select yes then display)
Q2 Is he called John? (if no then display)
Q3 Is he called Gary? and so on...
I've been testing using the code below but wondered if anyone had any ideas on how this could be done easily?
Please see URL: [URL] At the bottom of the page, I want to create nav links on these thumbnail images (NOT the large main images above them) so that each portfolio piece can go to its own page that has its own descriptive text in the left sidebar. There is no HTML for the thumbnails; they are generated via .js. Can this be done? .js file attached.
Better yet, if it's not too difficult, I would love to switch out the text with some cool .js code so all the functionality could be contained within this single page, instead of linking to individual HTML pages (like when you click another thumbnail, the text slides up and out of sight, and the new text slides up from the bottom to replace the former text) but I fear this may be over my head. I'll settle for the more primitive approach. Also, on a more minor issue, for some reason a thumbnail for the last list item does not display. You'll see my page displays 3, but the code contains 4:

1. First it gives you the prompt name then age. It checks whether they are both filled in and if they aren't it says to reload. Otherwise it writes down the link. Next we will go over the link.

I'm trying to parse my anchor tags, by getting all the href attribute available in the page, and then i will loop through this attribute values and then parse it. if each href value is equal to "mypage.com", the link will open to the same window, but if not it will open to a new window, more like the concept of determining internal and external links in a page.

The part in red creates a link which when clicked runs a function called show() with the relevant i variable value e.g. show(2) for the second node if that is relevant. Anyway the red part works in Chrome but not Internet Explorer (surprise surprise). I did some research which says that .setattribute is not allowed in IE. How can I change the red code to create links for the relevant records which works in IE?

View 3 Replies View Relatedtrying to make a simple web app that will let a user select from a catagory, then, when the catagory is selected, it stores the selection in a php session variable, which will be used in another sql statement to retrieve a locations list where catagory = "the stored catagory selection". The new list of locations will be displayed in a second div and each item in the locations list will also get information from the database when selected. Im able to pull the first catagory list from the database and show the div that they are displayed in using jquery and php but the new list of links will not change to show the contents of the third div.

We don't have any text input field tied to it, instead we have associated our own js-function with the onSelect attribute. But now the client wants to be able to click on the week number, or the month and then do something based on that. Preferably some onSelect function, just like when a user selects a specific day. I am trying to display an alert message when the user is in the middle of editing and clicks accidentally on some other link.
I want to display this error message for certain link and not for others.
I thought of using 'window.onbeforeunload', parse the url to find the link that was clicked. However, when I try to use the string functions (split, substring, lastindexof, etc.) inside 'onbeforeunload', they do not work.

how to write a script where when a link is clicked in the left nav column, it will display text in the right main column. So, when you first arrive to the page, nothing will appear in the main portion of the site. Content only appears after clicking on a link. I am getting to know jquery a little, and I am trying hide and show a div when a link is clicked.I have a page setup that has a flash video in a div on the main page. Then when a link is clicked, a lightbox window opens and plays another video. I am trying to get the video on the main page to hide while the lightbox video is playing. Then when a user closes the lightbox window, the div with the main video on the page is shown and starts playing again.So far I can get this to work with one link. But I cannot get the main video div to hide when a second link is clicked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a javascript code to display pdf files/links which are on a server onto a webpage. We are using an Oracle application and a javascript code can be embedded in it.
These pdf files will be generated everyday and going forward we will have almost 300+ files in a year. I tried using <a href="res/folderA/folderB/filename.pdf">Report for 10/01/2009</a> and it works fine. I could create 300+ links but most of the links would be dead since the pdf has not been generated for future dates and I don�t want to show dead links.
Can I show the pdf links/files dynamically? Like show only those files with links which are there on the server? The pdf files will be generated Mon-Fri and the naming convention for the PDF file would be MM-DD-YYYY-filename.pdf. Would it be possible to show the reports grouped by months? Getting the month from the file name and when someone clicks on that month then it shows only those files which have been generated in that month.
I tried using below code to get file names from a folder. It works fine on my local but doesn�t work on the server. But then it�s supposed to show only file names and not links :(

Also one more trivial question, I looked at the source code of the application and then saw that images used in that application are being called using href and location is under /res folder, where in the code is this specified? Pointer to that folder? What if I want to show some files/images which are not under /Res folder, where do I specify the location?
