Show Pdf Files From A Server Location As Links On A Webpage?

I am looking for a javascript code to display pdf files/links which are on a server onto a webpage. We are using an Oracle application and a javascript code can be embedded in it.
These pdf files will be generated everyday and going forward we will have almost 300+ files in a year. I tried using <a href="res/folderA/folderB/filename.pdf">Report for 10/01/2009</a> and it works fine. I could create 300+ links but most of the links would be dead since the pdf has not been generated for future dates and I don�t want to show dead links.
Can I show the pdf links/files dynamically? Like show only those files with links which are there on the server? The pdf files will be generated Mon-Fri and the naming convention for the PDF file would be MM-DD-YYYY-filename.pdf. Would it be possible to show the reports grouped by months? Getting the month from the file name and when someone clicks on that month then it shows only those files which have been generated in that month.
I tried using below code to get file names from a folder. It works fine on my local but doesn�t work on the server. But then it�s supposed to show only file names and not links :(

Also one more trivial question, I looked at the source code of the application and then saw that images used in that application are being called using href and location is under /res folder, where in the code is this specified? Pointer to that folder? What if I want to show some files/images which are not under /Res folder, where do I specify the location?

I was wondering if anyone has any idea how this can be done. I am
trying to show/hide navigation links based on server names or ip
addresses. So if, someone visits a particular url/ip address he/she
sees only a particular set of navigation links. I am sure this can be
done using some kind of Java script or VB script, just not sure how.
I have two servers with different server names and IP addresses. Based
on user's input I need to display the hyperlinks which then directs the
user to other utilities. For this I need to create a script which takes
the user input and show/hide those link based on server name or ip
address.
for example -if the user types in- http://wxyz.com or 166.xx.xx.01 then
only two hyperlinks will be shown but if the user inputs-
http://uvwx.com or 166.xx.xx.02 then we want to show all the
hyperlinks.

It launches in IE and give the user instructions, then at the click of a button, launches my setup.exe. I want my webpage to launch setup.exe then go to another webpage on my CD, congratulations.html, which says "installation is complete etc". Here's what I am trying to do through JAvascript. It doesn't work. Should the first instruction be flushed in order for the 2nd one to work?

I would like to open an html file locally (not fetch it from a server) and somehow use javascript to fetch the relative resources from the server. One solution would be to convert all of the relative links to absolute links. I can convert the html source file anyway I wish, but ideally I would like to modify the html source as little as possible, for example insert a function that modifies the result of the src attribute. How would I go about this? Is there any trick I can use to define where the relative home is? Am I going to get into any scripting security gotchas?

I have four folders and each folder has one images, let say ( images-one.jpg, images-two.jpg, images-three.jpg, images-four.jpg). now,in index.php page there are four buttons, each buttons for each images. if i clicked button numer two for images-two.jpg, and then it will show that images name from that folder in index.php page. and then if i reload same index.php page or refreshed same page, i want to show SAME images that I clicked before which is images-two.jpg. how can i write that code to show images from four files, each files are in each folder.

I am trying to make sense of the location hash etc. However, I have a few issues that I need to overcome in the process.I have 3 tabs, which need to create a hash and then allow return to that tab on page reload.This is what I need doing: firstly, I need to check the filename accessed and if it is the correct filename (say 'testing.php' or 'testing') then I need to check the GET parameters to see which ones have been called and exist, THEN I need to check the hash to see which tab to load.

I have a footer that is appended to all of my web pages as an include. The
pages are different lengths of course so that location of the div in pixels
from the top of the page changes with each page. I need to access the
location of a div within this footer for reasons I won't go into. The footer
may of may not be nested inside other absolute divs, depending on the page.
This:
var obj = document.getElementById('BottomMenuDiv');
var xlocation = parseInt(obj.offsetLeft);
var ylocation = parseInt(obj.offsetTop);
will give me the location of the div inside it's parent div. I would like to
do something like this:
while (obj.parent)
{
obj = obj.parent;
xlocation = xlocation + parseInt(obj.offsetLeft);
ylocation = ylocation + parseInt(obj.offsetTop);
}
to go all the way to the top of the page. (Or is there some way to get the
divs absolute position without going through it's parents?) What would be
the syntax to do this?

I have to create a web page to give to clients that is shipped on CD.
The idea is that they would open the page and it would display in their
web browser.
What this will do is to provide a list of most recent changes to the
software we're shipping. The idea is that there would be an un-ordered
list <ul/> with a list of changes (not sure of final desired mark-up).
What we want to do is to get the developers to edit a file that simply
contains a list of changes, putting in minimal markup. This "changes"
file would then be "included" in some way into a parent file that
contains all the branding and other information. We don't want the
developers to have to navigate their way around this parent file
looking for where to edit it.
As this page will be launched in a browser from disk, there won't be
any help provided by a web server, so I'm really stumped as to how to
accomplish this....could it be done with JavaScript at all?

I have written a custom slideshow script which gets the images from an array... The script will change the src of a img, which is a fullscreen background. Now here's the problem, I've been trying to write a function where can define a folder "gallery est", and then get all image files in that folder and repopulate the slideshow array. So, is there a way to scan folders? I've searched around and found some solutions where PHP is used, but i really want to keep this pure js, if possible (?)

I'm trying to extent a simple news editor that my company uses. I'd like users to be able to browse the files on the server and insert a link to a given file in a textarea. I'd also like them to be able to assign a class to the link, for different file types (e.g. one for PDF, one for DOC etc), or no class at all. I've seen AJAX file browser scripts and WYSIWYG editors but none that combine these two features.

On uploading files (PHP and javascript) to the server from local machine via dreamweaver, Google Chrome reported the presence of malicious codes (like loto-49) inside the server page. Later when I checked, I found that a HTML Code:document.write('....loto-49.com....'); was automatically added at the end of each javascript *.js files. On their removal, the warnings were gone.Recently, they again appeared. Between the closure of the head tag (</head>) and the start of the body tag(<body>) the following code is added automatically:

I am trying to make the link on each day in the calendar go to a new page on the site instead of populating a form with the current day.
For example, if you click July 6, 2011 I need it to go to /events.php?page=calendar&event-date=2011-07-06 The link shows "/events.php?page=calendar&event-date=" when you hover over it, but it does not actually link to anything. I also need to dynamically pull the date clicked into the url.

From the little I've read in this plugin's source code, ajaxSubmit() switches to "iframe mode" whenever it detects a file link in the form. The file is uploaded fine, but the server, which normally replies with different content. based on HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH header, fails to do its thing. This header is normally set to "XMLHttpRequest" on normal jQuery .ajax() calls.
The server I'm running is on rails, and I'm using the "request.xhr?" test.
I admit I'm not too familiar with iframes (or jQuery, for that matter:), but surely there must be a way to get around this, so that this can act as a simple drop-in replacement. Should I be looking at other headers, like "Accepts" or the kind, or should the plugin (or my code) be forcing the HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH header?

what I want to learn to do is have a feature on my website: [URL] where under the portfolio section there are multiple links (product, packaging, identity etc) I want different carousels to show up on the .index page when you click a certain one of those links. In old school HTML I believe you would use a frame but I know there is a better way to do it using jQuery. [URL](work section) does exactly how I want it to be except I don't need the fancybox feature.

I am trying to open some SWF videos from an HTML page. When the user clicks the link, I would like to have the videos open in a transparent window (not a separate browser wndow).
I have figured out how to embed the files and have them open in a transparent window as soon as you load/refresh the page but I want to open the SWF using a link.

I have a page that is on a secure server, lets say https://server.com and I have a link on a page /somelink.html. I am trying to use jQuery to change the link to http://server.com/somelink.html
Here is the code I have come up with:

I have created a photography website myself and coded it all in dreamweaver cs4. Now i have created it using html, as i didnt want to limit it to flash users and loading times etc etc. So today i found myself a nice simple slideshow tool that uses html and javascript. i created it using a site online (which i will not post as i dont think we are allowed to post to online sites).
The slideshow loads images up in the background, and it plays them in a random order.
Now i am able to define individual image links to either a url of the an image, or point it to individual images, listing them one by one in my coding, which as a photographer having differet galleries is goign to be a royal pain when i want to have new images showing up.
So my idea is to replace the code that retrieves in dividual images from url's, to replace it with a piece of code that will display an image from a list of about 7 or 8 folders on my server all containing images....
i.e. displays an image from the folder .../images/models/pic01.jpg then it brings up an iamge from a different folder .../images/portrait/pic08.jpg.
Is there a way to do this and how can i go about it?

I have to include:1) 10-20 pictures2) a title that is displayed at the top of the page3) the file name of the current picture4) a drop down list that allows the user to ynamically change the background color. Black (default), red, green, orange, brown, and blue.5) Right under the pictures there should be five clickable images for first, previous, next, last and random. 6) I can use any images for the above described buttons.7) The slide show should rotate through images whenever border conditions are met. Alright so this is the case:
So what happens is, that Firefox shows it correctly, but in IE it just writes ALL of the raw XML file data straight in a row (it does not use the stylesheet) why?
I have been trying so many solutions already. Could there be something in the XSL file that IE rejects but Firefox allows to be shown?

I recently started my college work placement and have been asked to make a website using the DHTMLXTree to show folders and files within them. I am not totally sure how to use the DHTMLXTree (maybe your not either) but I thought that using the FSO and creating an array would at least get me the files within the folder. This site is for a contracting company that wants to upload project files for other businesses to view if they are interested, these files also need to be downloadable.
