I would like to add Show All / Hide All links to the top and bottom of the page that will show and hide all answers at once.
how to write a script where when a link is clicked in the left nav column, it will display text in the right main column. So, when you first arrive to the page, nothing will appear in the main portion of the site. Content only appears after clicking on a link. When you click on another link, the previous content is hidden, and the new text is displayed. Here's what I have so far:

I am getting to know jquery a little, and I am trying hide and show a div when a link is clicked.I have a page setup that has a flash video in a div on the main page. Then when a link is clicked, a lightbox window opens and plays another video. I am trying to get the video on the main page to hide while the lightbox video is playing. Then when a user closes the lightbox window, the div with the main video on the page is shown and starts playing again.So far I can get this to work with one link. But I cannot get the main video div to hide when a second link is clicked.

I have four links which show a div and when you select another link it closes the current div and shows the new one. I'm trying to add a 'Close' button within the currently open div which obviously will hide the div and allow it to be opened again by selecting a link.

The id of active is on the currently selected menu item. In the above code the home page. How can I get the subnav to show only if the main menu item which contains a subnav is active? The rest of the time I want the subnav hidden. I have found the effect I want on another site [URK]. If you select advanced treatments a sub menu appears. If you select say jobs then the subnav for advanced treatments disappears.

View 3 Replies View Relatedtrying to make a simple web app that will let a user select from a catagory, then, when the catagory is selected, it stores the selection in a php session variable, which will be used in another sql statement to retrieve a locations list where catagory = "the stored catagory selection". The new list of locations will be displayed in a second div and each item in the locations list will also get information from the database when selected. Im able to pull the first catagory list from the database and show the div that they are displayed in using jquery and php but the new list of links will not change to show the contents of the third div.

Like in the first examples i have 5 panels, and i have a meta navigation, contact, links ect. all thedifferent content for the meta-navigation is displayed via jquery in panel 5, and is working fine.
Now my question; when the user is for example on the second panel, and the clicks on links, the page should show panel 5 (which is the index page(default.asp)), and then show only the content for the links.
I tried different stuff for loading the defautl.asp page, but it doesn't work. how do i tell, that if i click on the link wirh class="kontakt" the page should load the default.asp, and THEN do all the jquery stuff?
Below is one example, what i tried, but did not work.

All these divs are in the same from the right_nav-class.I guess the problem lies within line 6, where I want to select the div that should show up and is given as the argument of the function.The commented lines are things I already tried, but didn't work either, especially $(this).style seems to be invalid.It does hide all divs as i want, but the one i want to show again doesn't show up. It just stays hidden...

I'm trying to get jquery to show a specific div "apDiv2" after a hide effect. Basically the click function will hide all divs with ids containing 'adDiv' in the id and then I want to fade up a specific div based on the id of the clicked object. It hides all the divs correctly but the show doesn't seem to work.

I'm having a problem on: [URL] I've got a menu on z-index:0; and a footer on z-index:1; if you're doing a mouse over, the menu pops up under the footer. But the menu is longer than the footer (it's a png image) so you see the menu stock under it what isn't exactly the meaning. if there was a overflow-bottom:hidden; it's was solved but now i don't know what to do!

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor me one of the best things about jQuery is that I don't have to worry about browser compatiblity.I wrote some code to extend an excisting jQuery application (Galleria) and only tested it in FireFox. I split a long list with thumbs in several blocks: deel0, deel1, deel2 etc. After that I hide every block except the first one. If the visitor clicks on "Next serie" I hide the first block and show the second. All seemed to go well until I tested the page in IE6. The jQuery effects "hide" and "show" work fine in FireFox but not in IE6. When I click on "Next serie" the next block of thumbs don't show.

Note that these issues are specific to IE8, and I am using for the purpose of creating a program which works in IE, FF, Chrome, so I've only tested my solutions in those 3. I wasn't sure whether to start this as a question (as I am asking for an easier solution) or if I note it as a problem or discussion.
Any time I've used .show(x) where x > 0 on anything inside of a table, I get this "flicker", which has been mysterious to me for a while. As I need the row to expand it's height when the object grows, so I can't use "position:absolute;", which I found as a suggestion elsewhere (and does work...if the space is already allocated).
