"back To Top" Link That Follows Page When Scrolling
Nov 16, 2007I am looking for a script that allows a "back to top of the page" link to follow and always be present on the screen when the user scrolls down or up.

View 1 RepliesI've gotten .load to load content into a div but if the window is not at the top of the page it scrolls back to the top each time the new content is loaded but I wanted to avoid any sort of change on the page other than the content in the div. It seems pointless if the user has to scroll back down to the div where the content is each time? code...
Is there a way to keep the window in the same position? Also while I'm at it - is there a more efficient way to write this considering I have 9 pages or should I just write this code out for each instance?
I need to use self.scrollTo(x,y) as the last action in a js function called
by a onClick event. It seems that the scrolling actually takes place, but
the document is then scrolling back to top when js code execution has ended.
In the following example I get this effect in IE6 with the third and fourth
calls, while the first two work fine. Code:
jQuery - Scrolling browser Window. I have two demos of scrolling page content with jQuery.
This one - [url] is scrolling the contents inside a container and it works as I wanted on Mac/PC
Code:
I need the same effect as above but I need to scroll the whole browser window.
I have a demo here - [url]
Code:
Problem here is on the Mac the transition are jumpy and it seems to flash the first yellow div before sliding up or down. Testing on a PC it will slide down but won't slide up. How can I get the whole browser window to slide up and down with a smooth transition.
I'm trying to add a back and forward button to some scrolling images. The code that handels this runs on load and will cycle the images.
Code:
function rotater() {
if(document.layers) {
document.placeholderlayer.document.write(items[current]);
document.placeholderlayer.document.close();

When a user in somewhere of a site, he/she may want to login to access some user restrict pages. He/she clicks a login link on the menu and sign in on the login page. How to use JQuery to let the user back to the page where he/she clicks the login link?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is the url:The issue, as you will see, is initially when my front page loads the "menu" animates into place. Then after a button is clicked:
$(".home_button").click(function() {
$('#content_menu').stop().fadeOut(1000,function() {
window.location = "http://jquery.com/";
[code]...
That all works fine. The issue is when I use the back button on the browser to return to the home page the animation never triggers and the page remains unusable until a refresh. How can I have this page refresh when the user uses the back button and/or is there a better way to do what I'm asking?
I am trying to write a script that uses the IF statement to see wether or not a user clicked the back button to come to a page, and then if it's true to not let the page load and kick them back X number of pages (say 4) This is what I have so far:
<script language="JavaScript"><!--
if javascript:window.history.back == 1
{
javascript:window.history.back(4);
return false;
}
//--></script>
in the right direction on how this can be done, I got the idea from some ad company.http://mcstuff.co.uk/static/likethis.jpgOnce I hover over the link, the thing pops up.All I really want is that once someone hovers over a link, a small image pops up beside their cursor until they scroll off it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a site with two frames. In the top frame i have a link with this href: javascript:window.parent.frames['main'].history.back()
And this should make the bottom frame (main) go one history back, but it only works in Firefox but not in Internet Explorer...
I am having a problem with a site I am working on right [URL]..clicking on the "Kontaktieren Sie uns"-Link it triggers an unwanted scroll in the slider just underneath it. I am also getting a java script error when I view the site on ie/windows. I am clueless since I am not at all confident with java script.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got this client that would like the menu to slide out from the left nav bar, horizontally. So far I've put together a jQuery toggle you can see working here:Slide out Menu.What I need is to fade out/slide back when another menu link is clicked. Right now they are overlapping and there are more menu items to come.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a script that has several links and when you rollover the link it changes a main picture to be view as an image. But, when you no longer mouse over the link, it switches back to the default image.
I'd like for the last link that was rolled over to stay enlarged as the main pic until you roll over a different link.
Here's the current script...

I'm using this to change some tabs around. Is there a way to add hashes to the URL too or some way that i can enable back/forward buttons functions and link to a particular tab?
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".buttons").click(function () {
if ($(this).hasClass("current_tab_button")){ //is it the tab that's already displayed

I have this piece of javascript code, which enables me to get my Picasa photos without link back feature, in my webpage. The issue is with the hardcoded RSS url feed. I want this to be dynamically passed as a variable to the java script.I use a PHP code, where this javascript is coded.
In the below code, if I say
var samples = <?php $url_code ?>,
the javascript does not recognize.

There are 3 graphics (top left of page) which open a linked page in a pop up window; each popup comes into focus the first time it's opened - clicking on the same graphics again doesn't bring the already opened popups back into focus.I had originally sized each popup as 320x430px in the body at each of the 3 references to the linked pages, but discovered that (in FF portable 3.65.13) the popups all opened full-size windows. In an attempt to resolve this I removed the size info from each of these 3 page references (lines 84, 89, 94) and moved it to the head (line 67) which seems to have resolved the size issue, but works only when I specify the popup to be any size except the original size of 320x430 (e.g. 320x431; I have now settled for 321x431)

I am trying to get the back button or just a go back to work with an Ajax div? here's a minimal ajax enabled bldd.nl/stackoverflow/pagination/indexMinAjax.php but i want it to be ajax enable with the back button and for this i am trying BBQ
(benalman.com/code/projects/jquery-bbq/)
bldd.nl/stackoverflow/pagination/indexBBQAjax2.php
bldd.nl/stackoverflow/pagination/indexBBQAjax3.php
But i can't get back to a resulting page after filters have been selected?
What I need is a javascript, that scrolls an image togheter with the page, so, the images is always visible. You can see an example on britannica.com , in the right bottom corner there's a little '+', that's scroll with the pages, well I want the same with a simple image.
View 6 Replies View Relatedthe problem with ajax is that the page content generated cannot be bookmarked, nor does the back button work (in some browsers), ive read about history libraries and all sorts of heavy stuff, but i would like to know one simple thing.i want to add a Code JavaScript:
window.location.hash='#';
upon a link click, but theres a catch, when this hash add's, i don't want the screen to jump to the top, i want it to remain where it is.clarification:
1. i open page
2. i scroll down
3. i click link that adds a hash (maybe with a value #test)
4. the page MUST not scroll back to the top.
note: i see that adding a hash has different effects in different browsers, is there a cross browser way?
how to load page while scrolling? For e.g. If i want to load 200 records, i will first load 100 records and when the scroll reaches bottom, i will have ajax to get the remaining records. Here, when i get the next set of rows (in responsetext), these rows are seen as text and not as table rows.

I thought the return false would prevent this but the page scrolls up a bit. What's wrong?
On this test page, if you click the contact link, then submit, the page jumps to the top.. i guess that page is refreshing?? How can I prevent this jump to the top and have the page stay still?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI an onclick event that pops up a calendar box to choose a date. When it is clicked, the page automatically scrolls down so the input box is at the top of the windows. It's not a very far move, so it's not a terrible inconvenience... it's just startling.
Here is the code.
Code:
var ds_i_date = new Date();
ds_c_month = ds_i_date.getMonth() + 1;
ds_c_year = ds_i_date.getFullYear();

Is it possible, when a page is reloaded, to replace a link to a javascript in the head with a link to a different script?
