Allows To Select 2 Buttons And Comes Up With Alert If More Buttons Clicked

What happens is the user selects the number of buttons depending on the number entered in the text box. If the number is 3 in the text box, then the user can only select 3 buttons, if more buttons are selected then it comes with an alert message saying user is beyond limit deselect a button to be able to choose another button.
But these are the problems I have encounted: If I type in "2" in the textbox for example, it allows me to select 2 buttons and comes up with alert if more buttons clicked.
problem 1: but if I change the figure in text box from "2" to "5", then it only allows me to select 3 buttons (I think it is adding 2 from the previous value and 3 to make the current value 5)
problem 2: If I enter a value less than current value, so in this example if I enter in 1 in the textbox which is obviously less than 2, then it lets the user select unlimited number of buttons.
So does anyone know how to fix these problems so that the amount of buttons selected matches correctly to the value in the textbox?

I'm just learning javascript. I need to create an onclick event for a three-state rollover. I just can't figure out where to place the event. I know it needs to go in my setup rollover function, but can't figure out where to place it so an alert pops up when one of the buttons is clicked. Anyone have any guidance for me? I just don't see any possibility to change the height of a button. I am developing an application to list many articles. The height of the collapsible buttons/select buttons is therefore to large, i want the buttons to be as small as possible.

I have 10 buttons on a page, and 10 more "onmouseover buttons" that correlate to the first set. Each button or onmouseover button is only 1-2KB! But I can still hold the mouse over a button for a couple seconds until it loads the onmouseover button. I'm using javascript to have the buttons change. The page does load a 2MB video. Could that be the cause? Can I tell it to load the buttons first somehow?

got 3 groups of radio buttons that, if not all checked, needs to give an alert message when button clicked to continue. The button is not a submit button, but just to continue to the next part of the form which is hidden.

The onClick function on the image is to hide these and display next part of form.
I understand that I could just check them automatically to force user to change them if they wanted to or just continue but if there is way to do it another way.
Or if possible to hide my continue button until all 3 groups are selected, also without using checked="checked"

so basically this is what I have its 2 sets of radio buttons named budget, premier and superior which values are $2,$3 and $5 respectively. a checkbox that if checked the value would make the the first group of radios multiplied by 2 if not it will remain the same the second group would be weekly, monthly and annually which the values will be multiplied to 1,x(52/12) and 52 respectively to everything above. the total would be displayed as an alert message if the none of the first group is selected an alert would be issued when calculate is pressed and that would be please select level of cover and if none of the second group is selected it would display please select frequency of payment but if none is selected at all both alerts would be displayed on a single dialogue box, i cant make a script to make it function properly .i didnt include the script because i suck it doesnt work

and here are the directions where im stuck at, just right click view source to see the code. I believe what i am doing wrong is where i enter my variables and i dont know how to get an alert message to pop up using an if statement as well as getting the values for the distances to show up correctly

So we will use an if statement to check that. If they have entered the same origin and destination city then we will tell them that by using an alert statement and make them select again. All of your code to validate the input code goes in between the single quotes of the onClick event in the Calculate Fare button. Follow these steps: a) Assign the value of the origin city to a variable called origin Note that the value that gets assigned to origin is actually 0, 60, 90, 120 or 150 (and NOT Bellingham, Everett, Seattle etc.) since the value we gave to the each element of the list was its distance from Bellingham. This will make our lives easier later when we compute the fare. b) Assign the value of the destination city to a variable called destination in a similar fashion. c) Write an if statement that will test whether origin is equal to destination and if it is then do two things. i. Issue an alert message that says input different origin and destination cities ii. Stop the execution of the JavaScript code in the onClick event. Use return; as the second statement inside the if statement. Remember to use curly braces to denote that two statements are contained within the if statement. Your if statement will have the following structure to it.

There are two submit buttons and I would like to change the hidden field value for one of the buttons when it is clicked. I have tried various ways to assign a value to the hidden field in the javascript but none of them works including the above. I have tried "formElement.form.customerID.value", "formElement.form.getElementById "customerID"); etc but it does not work. What is the right way of assigning the hidden field value in javascript.

I have a piece of javasacript code that searches through several iframes for buttons with specifi id's. When I find the button, I bind a click event to that button. This works perfectly fine in IE, but only works in Firefox if I alert something. After I click on the alert button ok, the click events are assigned correctly and the buttons work fine. See my code below for achieving this:

right now im using a percent bar to redirect the page when all buttons are clicked but i want a more efficient way of doing the redirect there will be a total number of buttons on my page, for examply 5 every time one is clicked, is there a possible way of subtracting 1 and when buttons = 0 the page redirects

I currently have some buttons representing letters and a textbox. When a button is clicked, its value is copied into the text box. I have an onkeyup event which means that every time a button is clicked, a function is called which searches some arrays using the current text box value.
However, the problem I am currently having is that the onkeyup event which calls the function works if I type the value in using my computer keyboard, but not when using the buttons (even though the buttons enter values into the textbox).
How I can make it so that when I press a button, the onkeyup event triggers and the function is called?

In my application what happens is that the user chooses a button by clicking on the (open Grid) link and selecting a button. Then what happens is that a set of buttons appear below depending on what the user has chosen. The user is supose to determine how many answers he wants to select in the text box (in other words how many buttons does the user want to select). For example if the user enters "2" in the textbox, then the user can only select 2 buttons below. The problem is that if the user types in a number in the text box, then it would not allow the user to select a button, (a button is selected if the color of the button turns green). but if I remove the number which is in the text box, then if I click on a button it comes up with an alert message stating that you should determine the number of answers you want, this is correct. So why is it not allowing me to select any buttons if there is a number inside the "Number of Answers" textbox? Code is in jsfiddle, click [URL]

I want my radio buttons to become submit buttons as well. So when a user clicks on a radio button it submits the action and refreshes the page accordingly. As of now using only using onclick="this.form.submit()" the page only refreshes with no change. Here is a copy of the entire form. It is a custom shipping options form (I did not create it).

I create buttons from an array of objects that such as:
buttons = [{ text: "button 1", action: 1}, {text: "button 2", action: 2}];
I then loop thru the array to assign the text and bind the click event after having created the buttons with IDs of "button_<index>".

The text appears correctly in the button, but every button defined only fires the list bound click, in this example the action equal to'2'whether I push "Button 1" or "Button 2".My actual case has four buttons, all firing the event for the fourth button.I've tried not chaining the .click(), going thru the loop twice once for the .html and once for the .click, neither of which made a difference. If I hard code each button .click, it works fine.

I'm trying to create a questionnaire style series of radio buttons which are hidden and then a different set of radio buttons displayed depending on the previous answer. eg
Q1 Is it a man? (if select yes then display)
Q2 Is he called John? (if no then display)
Q3 Is he called Gary? and so on...
I've been testing using the code below but wondered if anyone had any ideas on how this could be done easily?

I have a list of items in a table. For each item, I have a set of radio buttons, with values of 'yes' and 'no', and a name/id unique to the item. There can be any number of items at any given time (usually 20-30)
I would like to have a link at the top that will select all of the 'yes' values and one that will select all of the 'no' values.
I have been able to select using name and value, but I need to be able to select soley by value, as the names will all be different (it should be apparent that I have very little experience with Javascript and less with Jquery).

and now I need to de-select the radio buttons after it has been selected. I've looked around and can't seem to find a way. Only other way I could figure is to refresh the page but if I do that I loose all my variables. It's not at all finished yet, but if you want to see what I've done so far: javascript currency ranking I'm liking Javascript much more, it's not as difficult as I thought it was.

On a form on one of my pages I have two <select> elements, and each one
is paired up with a radio button. The idea is to choose an item from
one list or the other and select the radio button of the list you want
to use.
I'm using JavaScript to automatically select the radio button
corresponding to a list when you click on the list (using the onclick
event handler). Is that the best event to change on, or should this
behavior be triggered on the onChange event - so if they don't change
the value they won't have to re-select the other radio button?

I develop a component that inserts radio buttons into an div, after this it use the jquery ui buttonset widget on this elements.
This works like this example:
This works like expected.
But when I submit the parent form or when I register an change event with $('#thediv > input').change(function() {alert('test');}); it does not send the values of this radio buttons.
With firefox it works fine only matters IE7 .

I have a very long form full of items that the user rates from 1 to 3. There may be 100 items that the user needs to rate. For each item to rate they are given three radio buttons for 1, 2 or 3 for them to choose from. Now initially all the radio buttons are unchecked, but each item to rate is required. So this process can take quite a bit of time having to check each radio button. I need a way at the top of the form to have three master radio buttons for 1, 2 and 3 to where if they click 1 it will select/deselect all of the radio buttons for the rating 1 and the same for 2 and 3. I would like to work off of the CSS class selecter for this so I will be giving the radio buttons classes of "radio1", "radio2" and "radio3". What's the best way to go about this?

What I want to know is that how is it suppose to be coded so that the user can only select the same amount of buttons as the number from the drop down menu? For example if the user selects the number 3 from the dropdown menu, then if the user clicks on a button, it will highlight the button in a color (lets say green) but the user can only have three buttons selected. If an additional button is clicked then that button would not be selected.
The additional button can only be selected if the user unselects a selected button and then selects the button he wishes. This means that only 3 buttons can be selected at maximum. Also only 3 buttons minimum can be selected, if more or less buttons are selected than the number 3 then it should come up with an alert. Is this suppose to be done in Javascript or Jquery and how can I use css to change the color of the buttons to green if selected or back to grey if unselected?
