Code For Buttons Isn't Working - 2 Different Lines Of Changing Buttons
Mar 21, 2011
Why doesn't this code work?
Code:
Code:
It is supposed be just 2 different lines of changing buttons. I was planning to use the "+" and "-" buttons to add/subtract button lights from a column. Unless I did something wrong, I think it should work, but it doesn't... Why?
I have 10 buttons on a page, and 10 more "onmouseover buttons" that correlate to the first set. Each button or onmouseover button is only 1-2KB! But I can still hold the mouse over a button for a couple seconds until it loads the onmouseover button. I'm using javascript to have the buttons change. The page does load a 2MB video. Could that be the cause? Can I tell it to load the buttons first somehow?
I just don't see any possibility to change the height of a button. I am developing an application to list many articles. The height of the collapsible buttons/select buttons is therefore to large, i want the buttons to be as small as possible.
I have 4 pictures (Picture_1, Picture_2, Picture_3, Picture_4) and 2 buttons. I am trying to make it so that when you click the 'next picture' button it increments a variables andchanges the current picture to the next one ("Picture_" + CurrentPicture) I am aware that I would need to delete the current picture before creating the next one but I am unsure how to do this I use document.write("<img src = 'Picture_Example'>") to display my picture but if there is a better way Here's all my code:
<html> <head> <script language = "javascript" type = "text/javascript">
I hope that someone can help me with this strange problem I have here. I have some script which changes a button and changes the onclick event. The strange thing is that although it is changing it. All the events have the same parameter even though my code is giving each button's onclick event it's own unique parameter.
what i need to do to add all the radio botton and check box. i already finish the add formula on the checkbox but i do not know how to add the two selected radio buttons to my checkbox buttons.for example:
What happens is the user selects the number of buttons depending on the number entered in the text box. If the number is 3 in the text box, then the user can only select 3 buttons, if more buttons are selected then it comes with an alert message saying user is beyond limit deselect a button to be able to choose another button.
But these are the problems I have encounted: If I type in "2" in the textbox for example, it allows me to select 2 buttons and comes up with alert if more buttons clicked.
problem 1: but if I change the figure in text box from "2" to "5", then it only allows me to select 3 buttons (I think it is adding 2 from the previous value and 3 to make the current value 5)
problem 2: If I enter a value less than current value, so in this example if I enter in 1 in the textbox which is obviously less than 2, then it lets the user select unlimited number of buttons.
So does anyone know how to fix these problems so that the amount of buttons selected matches correctly to the value in the textbox?
I'm trying to understand how jQuery works, so I wanted to create something in order to learn a little bit ;-) here's the case:
I want to create a box with a text in german. Above the text, there are buttons in order to change the language. So, by clicking on "French", the german text disappears and is replaced by the french one. So, I created the buttons and the DIV-Blocks.
The question is, which function I should use with jQuery in order to achieve my goal (?) show / hide ? replace? First, I should show only one DIV, and hide all these others, no?
I have an image slideshow that works fine and, I may be being over ambitious but I'd like to combine the Play and Pause buttons so that when the slideshow is playing, the Play button is replaced by the Pause button and when it is paused the Pause button is replaced by the Play button.
Sounds like a simple JavaScipt change image function but both buttons have roll over effects and they both have different JavaScript functions assigned to them so I'm struggling to get my head around what I need to do.
I've highlighted the relevant chunks of code below...
i'm trying to set up a page that has 5 radio buttons at the top of the page and when you select one of them, without needing to hit a 'submit' button, it will change the contents of the second half of the page, which will contain form elements.
i'm trying to do this without frames or iframes, and am hoping there's a way to do it with cfloop or something.
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function toggle() { var ele = document.getElementById("toggle");
[Code]....
The above toggle code works perfectly.
How can I edit the code to use buttons instead of text? In other words: How can I replace two different texts that say "Show" and "Hide" with two different buttons that say "Show" and "Hide"?
I have a script that lets you add tasks to a task list and then you can click a button to sort them, but I cannot get the "Delete Selected Task" and "Delete All Tasks" buttons to work correctly. I will be eternally indebted to whoever can help me fix these two buttons. The code I am working on is posted below.
I want my radio buttons to become submit buttons as well. So when a user clicks on a radio button it submits the action and refreshes the page accordingly. As of now using only using onclick="this.form.submit()" the page only refreshes with no change. Here is a copy of the entire form. It is a custom shipping options form (I did not create it).
I then loop thru the array to assign the text and bind the click event after having created the buttons with IDs of "button_<index>".
for( var index in buttons ) { $("#button_"+index).html ( buttons[index].text ) .click( function() { clickButton( buttons[index].action ) } ); }
The text appears correctly in the button, but every button defined only fires the list bound click, in this example the action equal to'2'whether I push "Button 1" or "Button 2".My actual case has four buttons, all firing the event for the fourth button.I've tried not chaining the .click(), going thru the loop twice once for the .html and once for the .click, neither of which made a difference. If I hard code each button .click, it works fine.
I'm trying to create a questionnaire style series of radio buttons which are hidden and then a different set of radio buttons displayed depending on the previous answer. eg
Q1 Is it a man? (if select yes then display)
Q2 Is he called John? (if no then display)
Q3 Is he called Gary? and so on...
I've been testing using the code below but wondered if anyone had any ideas on how this could be done easily?
I have been looking around for a while on google and have come accross a few things but still am unable to find the exact codes. I am trying to have a page setup so that when the user clicks a button it will add preset text to a form box and keep the chronological order of buttons that are clicked. This is going to be used for my ambulance service to assist dispatch so basically i am looking for preset buttons that the dispatcher can click disp. and have the dispatch and time added to a list in the form box that can later be copied and emailed to our cell phones.
The images stop at image 3; if I press next it doesn't loop. How can I make it continuously go round and round when I press next/previous? I'm new to JavaScript and I found this script online ( might be old ) and I just need to use it for a simple gallery where images switch as I press the navigation. My problem is that when I preview the design in my browser ( Safari & Firefox ) is doesn't work. Nothing happens, they are marked as links, but I just can't click them.

I have 2 tables with Add/Remove Row buttons. The first table's Add Row button adds a row that belongs in the second table, and the Remove Row button gives me an Object Error. The second table works properly. The JavaScript for both tables is identical except for the ID's. When the tables are put into seperate html files both of the Add buttons work properly, but the remove row button from table one is still giving me the Object Error.
just learning javascript and DOM. i'm writing a form creation system. this code works in FF 1.5 but not in a default configuration of IE 6 on WinXP SP2. i'd appreciate any help getting this to work in IE.
what i'm attempting here is to create a module (in this case one with a text area) using the DOM and this module itself has controls that make use of the DOM (example code is a delete module button). in IE i first "Allow Blocked Content..." via the information bar. after this the module creation button works fine but the buttons that are part of the module do nothing. Code:
Ok so the problem is when I mouse over the left nav menu all is great, when I mouse over the newly created DHTML menu in the middle the seperators(black before mouse over of the DHTML menu) disapear on the left nav menu and there is now white space surrounding the buttons on the left nave menu. IF you switch to full screen mode(F11 I think) I can see the actual graphic on the left nav menu changing and that is what is causing this, but I cant find it in the code.
I have narrowed it down to my framework.js script but no idea where it is within this code. I can post that code in here and maybe you can see what I mean and I will attach a screen shot of the problem.
Following is the sample code <div id = "radio"> <input type = "radio" id = "radio1" name = "radio" /><label for = "radio1"> Choice 1 </label> ..... I want to select the radio button programmatically using its label value. And I want to get the label value of selected radio button programmatically.
