My problem involves input elements not being visibly updated after $('#selector').val(...) and non-working datepickers (the hasDatepicker class is attached, but the datepicker control doesn't fire up when the input gains focus).

Nutshell version: I need to fire off a javascript call whenever an ASP.NET UpdatePanel is updated, and I'm not sure how to do it. Detailed version: I have an ASP.NET page that has several UpdatePanels. Some of these are in my own code and I have access to, some are used by third party controls (e.g. ReportViewer) and I don't have direct access to them.
My website also uses jQuery Mobile to render the controls in a mobile friendly way. The problem I'm having is that whenever something in an UpdatePanel is updated, the newly updated contents don't get re-parsed by jQuery Mobile, and so they revert to their original style(s).

The problem I'm having is that I can't figure out how to make that happen. document.Ready() doesn't refire on an AJAX update. I've tried using $('div').live(),$('div').load(),$('div').change() and a few others (I am adding these to the Master page for the website) but nothing seems to fire off when the DIV updates.
Problem in the timing of the script. The problem is that when I try to get an id of an object that was added by ajax, the script doesn't recognize it. The html:

And I have developed an Ajax based search module that primarily does the following:
Lets the user select a Country and then loads via AJAX a drop down full of areas and then when an area is selected loads another drop down menu full of towns.
The Ajax functions fine and it all looks great in Firefox. But there is a problem with the background in internet explorer.
When the new <select> is loaded the background stays white in a small strip. Does anyone have any experience with this bug?

It worked like a charm, until I had to change a dropdown dynamically with ajax. I have two dropdowns, the second being populated with ajax (php, mysql) by the option selected in the first one. The second dropdown has the title attribute filled so the previous function can validate and ask the user to select something. However, it seems like fields loaded dynamically with ajax wont appear inside the x.elements[] array. I've tested it over and over, it keeps ignoring it. It isn't even in the array. Why?

The problem is that the updated value is not sent along with the post data. Instead the old value is sent along.
When i submit the form with a button afterwards though (not auto submit after the value is set), then the value is sent along fine.
But that's not how I want it to work...how I can send the value that I'm setting with JS along with the post data like this?
I am not getting the tinymce edit textarea in an html page that is generated by ajax. I am calling the ajax using jquery. I have kept the tiny_mce.js file on the page that is generated via ajax. The path is correct but am not getting the page displayed. There is no problem for the source hence i am getting the tinymce editor without using ajax.

It seems that looking in firebug the function is called and I've tested it by sending myself an email. It just happens that it is always an empty string. I've got a page that lists a bunch of info in a large table. In each row is a link, and when that link is clicked on, an ajax call fires that returns detailed info on the item in that row. I usually display the html just to the right of the table, but the table has gotten too large. I need to display the info in a pop up now. The only thing is, how do I get the results of my ajax call into a pop up window? I've been having an awful time getting this to work.
I'm using JQuery to make the ajax call, what can I put in my success of complete event to create the pop up using the data the ajax call returns?
I'm having a little problem with a jQuery/JS script I just wrote in IE7/8. The problem is the first 2 lines of the returned data are not being displayed (w or wo styling) but only in IE. The strange thing is though if I alert the returned data it's there.

If I put an alert message in function showLoadingImg() or the make the red line uncomment (making the line a error), Then I am getting the loading gif functionality work..
But, all next functions fail due to above red lined error (if its uncommented).
I am creating a form in which I want a custom drop-down. Instead of displaying the normal drop-down list, I want, when I click a button, to display a dataView element directly below the textbox showing the currently selected item. What I'm not sure about is how to display the dataView directly under the textbox but on a different z-axis as the rest of the form. Currently, when I display the dataView, it pushes all the data under the textbox down to fit the dataView. I know I've seen this done with drop-down menus, but I don't know how to get it to work.

My problem is that I need the search results to appear in a different URL but at the moment they just appear in a new DIV on the home page. My knowledge of JS is limited and can't get my head around what the OS script is doing. I think the relevant section of the search form is as follows:

This code works to insert a MySQL record to a Database using AJAX. It works fine on IE, but it's not working on FF or Chrome. When I test it on FF/Chrome, i just get the text "Just a second..." and it doesn't advance from there.

I need to store the checked value of the radiobutton into an array and then display the result from that array.I have created an empty array to store the input from the textbox of the form using the JS insert() function and then used show() function to display the result... but I am unable to display which option the user has selected from the radiobutton.if you look at it in the browser, and type in a name in the name textbox and click submit....it displays the result (which was stored in the inputarray) but the radiobutton doesnt work...gives.."undefined" and should give either Male or Female, depending on what the user selects.
