Id like to get the amount between "(+$" and ")" and add it to the value of the inputbox.For example, you select the following:
Solero Exotic (+$1.85)
Cappuccino (+$2.49)
iMac 27-inch 3.1GHz (+$1,999.00)
[code]....
Anyone know of a javascript that can get the values of the id's from the selected options and add them to the inputbox?For instance, if you select "Product 3" and "Service 2", the inputbox will display $1699.99
HTML Code:
<form action="">
<fieldset>
<ul style="list-style:none;padding-left:0;">
[code]....
I'm trying to make an ajax post to some php and whenever the user clicks the submit button, it reloads the page and is adding the serialized data to the URL thus breaking the page and giving me an error that I do not have a person selected. I've tried adding "return false;" everywhere I can and it still doesn't work. Here's my code:
// EDIT CONTACT AJAX
$("editForm").submit(function() {
$.post("/ajax/edit-contact.php", $("editForm").serialize(),
function(data) {[code]...
// I've tried adding a "return false;" here and it doesn't work
}
// I've tried adding a "return false;" here and it doesn't work
);
// I've tried adding a "return false;" here and it doesn't work
I'm having a problem where the serialize method isn't serializing form elements that are added to the DOM after the page load. Specifically, when the user clicks on a button some elements are displayed in a dialog that are generated from my server and returned via AJAX. I'm converting from Prototype and didn't run into this problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use a .load or a .post or some other method to send a request to the server to update a page based on passed data and to return the updated html section and also to return an XML data structure back to the callback function in the .load method?I would assume at that point the load would load the #div section of the document to the target. If it is possible to send XML data also, how would I structure that and how would I send it and access it in jQuery or javascript?
What I want to do is update one section of the page with new html and then make some changes to another section using jQuery or javascript based on the XML data. Both changes are based on the data passed in the initial .load request so having to do it twice is redundant.
I am trying to copy data from one element to another on page load.
I want to copy the below data within each element

I want to load data after loading related php page. i used ajax and even jquery.
jquery was not sure this is jquery code:
But this and when i was using ajax it changes data, but unfortunately, the pay now button (pay pal) was not working. curser changes but button don't work...
I have a page with a lot of data validation on it (for a form). But the validation is not actually executed until the user hits Submit. The page loads really slow. Is there a way to control how a page loads so that, as I suspect, the validation Javascript loads after the form actually displays? I want the user to see the page/form displayed as quickly as possible while I recognize that the the page load may not be complete because its still loading the validation routines. What I can do to speed it up?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo here is my problem...I've been banging my head against the wall for days with this one.How do you send data through the URL to be handled by a script in page.html, where page.html processes the data and dynamically displays the data in a modal. I can get the script to execute without trying to display in a modal, but as soon as I attempt to display in a modal, all I get is the static HTML without the jquery dynamic html.I know some code should be given, but if anyone could just walk me through the logic of why static html might be shown but not the dynamic, I think i can figure it out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a section at the bottom of one of my pages that gets data that can be further filtered by weeks. Users can click on any of the weeks to see the data that applies only to that week. This works just fine, but when the function finishes and replaces the html content of the div, the page jumps to the top so that the user has to scroll back down to see the results. I'd like to avoid that. [code]...
It's nothing terribly complicated. The 'weekSelection' links are disabled until a stakeholder is chosen, then they're good to go. The weird bit at the url variable is just some ASP.NET MVC stuff.The StakeholderForecasting div gets its contents replaced and all will be good as soon as I can maintain the page's position.
I have a jQuery plugin that creates a list of news items and appends the <ul> to the element(s) calling the plugin. Each <li> gets a document key added to its data.
A brief snippet of the code:
(function
($){
$.fn.NewsList=function
(options){
[Code].....
None of the <li>'s have the data attached to them. I've tested the selector shown above in line 3, and it does pick up the correct <li>'s. The data is not visible in Firebug as it is on the other page. Both functions are called after document.ready and insert the elements after page load.
The onlydiscernible differences between these two circumstances is that in the working case, the plugin is called against an ID, whereas in the nonworking instance, it is called against a CLASS. In addition, in the working case, only one DIV is affected, and in the nonworking case, there are two DIVs that receive the treatment.
I've always had this limitation when adding inline content using JQuery. Such as adding one more text field inline let's say. Basically, if I had defined some code related to input fields outside the scope of the function that adds the inline code, this new input field will not recognize it.
Something like
Code:
However, Ive always solved it by adding the click event another time after the code in placed inline
Code:
But I'm trying now to avoid this repetition, how is it possible?
I have a simple problem and cant seem to figure it out. I have a function in the body.load function that is supposed to highlight rows in my table when i mouse over them. When u refresh the page, the function works properly. When I dynamically add new rows to the table using ajax, I get no response.

I've been noticing a lot of problems when loading these stuff, Sometimes I have to remake the HTML Tags because its not showing anything. Is there any option? I want it to load EXACTLY how it is, I don't know if this is some kind of protection for bad code, but if it is I would like to disable. But also, this code is really clean. no problem, I don't know.
I have a single webpage that contains information on all 50 U.S. states. There are 50 links at the top to jump down to the state you want, and at the bottom of the information for each state a Back to Top link.
I'm making the Back to Top link into something more complex, and it will require three or four lines of code.
So that I don't have to repeat the code 50 times, and create a burden when I need to edit it, I want to place it in a .js file and call it x. Then below the information for each state I'll simply have:
Does calling code from a .js file 50 times slow down the page load? Which method would load faster?
I have some javascript code that does some GET and POST requests that are required. Sometimes it doesn't fully execute for the user because they close or click onto another page before the javascript is completely done. Is there anyway I can let all of the javascript load first and slow down the actual page load of the website.

I'm trying to have a scroll function (scrollIntoView(true)) that scrolls to an element created by JS. This isn't working because when I use document.createElement the element's html doesn't show up in page source so I can't find it using document.getElementById.
What should I do?
I added maphilight to an html page. Suddenly, an unrelatedtable at the bottom of the page disappeared. The box is there, but the most of the table won't appear. Click on the bottom of the table, voila.Remove the jquery, it displays fine. The W3C validator OK's the file. Thisproblem is in IE8, not Firefox.
There are 3 wide lines that divide the data inthe 'missing' preformatted table. If I shorten the length of the 1stor 2nd line (the 3rd line doesn't affect it), it displays properly..[URL]But then I got it to display with minor changes to textabove the table. But then it wouldn't. I finally got[URL]to work and[URL] doesn't work. (edit: most of the time, both files don't always display consistently, even on different computers.) They are *exactly* the same file except for the time stamp in the file!
details: I deleted a couple of lines of text above the table and it displayed OK.When adding the internal #java anchorabove the table, that extra text changed how short the 2nd line needed to be to get the table to display. I had to remove about 6 characters from the 2nd line to get the table to show up again.
I have spent a lot of time googling about this but I'm not sure exactly what to search for. I use jquery ajax to send a request to the server and then new content for a specific div is returned that the script then places in that div. All links with the css class "link" triggers this request.
The problem is that the returned content contains links with the css class "link" and they will not trigger the request. I'm guessing this has something to with that the script does not know about these new links that were added. Because the script runs when the page loads and only knows about the links that were on the original page.
How can I make the script ready for the new ones that are async added into the page?
<script type="text/javascript">
$(".link").click(function () {
$.ajax({
url: $(this).attr("href"),

I have a page with a form, that represent questions and the corresponding answers.I defined the minimum questions, answers, and their maximum.So I added a link in the form to add question (along with the minimum amount of answers), and a link per question to add an answer in it.the "click" event for my links is like:
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".addquestion").click(function(event){...});
$(".addanswer").click(function(event){alert("addanswer");...});
});
the code look more like JS, but basically it.adds the html code in the corresponding divs.The problem is the following: if I add a question, it also add a link to add answers to this question, but this link does not fire the event.Did I miss something to add to make it work?I mean the link in html page is exactly the same, I even tried not
changing the part with the int, it still doesn't work.
Is it faster/more beneficial to have two snippets of code be generated by php at 2 different urls and then have a load function for each url? Or have the two snippets on one page, surrounded by id's and then load them that way?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems like when I load javascript code into a page, that each item I add, such as an accordian vertical navbar, image slider, etc, that each time I add one, the page loads a second or so slower with each one added. I would like some of these features, but is this just a part of life, or are there tricks to avoid the slower load time? It is not major time but after the 2 items I mentioned, it added on about 2 seconds.
I read that $(document).ready(function() might slow me down but I do not see that statement in any of my .js files.
I have adrop-downelement on the page. On the change event I am appending two labels to a text box. The problem is I am able to see the newly added elements on the page while debugging it. but as soon as thepost backoccurs the added elements seems to bedisappearingfrom the page.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the status bar in Mozilla and Netscape showing that
it is still waiting on the page to load even after it is finished. This
problem does NOT occur with IE.
In summary, I am using a onLoad event in the BODY tag to communicate back to
another server each time a page finishes loading. I do this by using a "new
Image()" and setting the .src property to the server. The .src includes a
value in the querystring so I know what request it was that finished
loading.
The challenge here is that the status bar still shows "Transferring data
from www.mysite.com..." despite the image being loaded. It never clears and
leaves the user with the impression that there was a problem loading the
page. My web server logs at the mysite.com show that the browser does
indeed make a request for the image and I get the querystring just fine and
it returns a status of 200 so the image is being found and served ok.
I've tried everything I can think of to solve this and really could use your
help please. Bottom line is that if you use the "new Image" statment from
within the OnLoad event of the Body tag, Netscape and Mozilla never seem to
update the status bar to show "Done" despite it succesfully loading the
image.
Here is a simply snippet you can use to easily reproduce this issue:
