Select Menu Values Didn't Get Passed In From Two Forms‏?

May 26, 2010

It is kind of difficult to explain what I am trying to do here, I will provide the form here to give a better idea.

<ul>
<li>Select the type of your starting point of interest:<br/>
<div id="start_menu"><form action="test_getrss.php" name="form1" method="post">
<span><input type="radio" value="Apartment" name="start"

[Code]....

I get values for start_time, end_time and semester, but not the last two values. I noticed that the first two forms here are dynamically generated from Ajax.

How can I pass the values of these two selected menus to the third form, to process.php so the values can be retrieved?

Mulitple Input Values Passed From Popup Window

Mar 24, 2006

On the ONLOAD event I would like a popup box to open. In this popup
box I need two text boxes. One for the UserName and one for the
BillingTo name. After entering these two items the user can either hit
the enter key or press the submit button. The popup window will close
and then those two text boxes in the original webpage will be filled in
automatically.

I would like to have the two fields to be validated so the popup won't
close until both text boxes are filled in.

So far I have used the function from javascript.internet.com in the
header of the original page. I have tried to make so that when the
first popup closes the second popup will open. I can get the variables
to pass the main page but I feel it would be more effecient to have
both text boxes in the same popup instead of having two. Code:

problem is in the execution as follows.

It works fine in Mac IE with and without the <FORM></FORM>.

In Mac Netscape 6 the onChange does not activate if there is no
<FORM></FORM>. When I put it in a form as indicated below the value of
train.options.value is undefined. What am I doing wrong?

As I said there is no problem in IE and mayby other browsers. It may be
just a Mac Netscape 6 problem. Code:

Wrong Values Passed To Function - Make A Link To The Next Page

Feb 21, 2009

I am writing a Javascript to sort and write out some stuff. PHP is not an option so I need to get this script working.

The problem arises when I want to make a link to the next page. (i.e. Like the link in Google for the next 10 results)

I have <a href=# onclick=FUNCTION(VALUES)> written dynamically by the script.

It is written onto the document correctly, but the problem is, when the link is clicked, some seemingly random values are passed to the function.

When you run the code, the first alert will show all the values that a were passed to the function. The second and third will show what was written to the document.

If you try clicking the next button after the code loads, the values that result will be unusual.

Limiting # Of Items Passed From One Select To Another

The way I have it now, it pops up a warning if user tries to pass more than ten, but then passes the first ten of the selected items through to list1 anyway. I don't want it to pass any items if they try to pass more than ten...just show the popup, and make them try again. Code:

Expected '' Error - Select Menu 'Customer' Which Triggers A 3 JS Functions - To Populate 2 Extra Select Menus

Aug 18, 2010

I'm having problems with a Javascript 'Lookup' function.

Basically, I have a select menu 'Customer' which triggers a 3 JS functions, to populate 2 extra select menus.

Using IE Developer Tools, during debugging, I get this error: Expected ';' Error

This relates to either: eval(ajax_CustContact[index].response); OR eval(ajax_CostCentreContact[index].response); (it's a bit random, as sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't)

I have tried changing the 'custid' to 'custname' to check whether it was an integer causing the problem, but had the same problem.

Change 2nd Select Values Based On 1st Select?

May 4, 2010

I am working on a class registration system that requires students to register for a main class (101, 102 or 103). The student is supposed to select one main course as well as provide a second choice in case the first is not available. I have two dropdown select fields to capture data

1) Choice -1: 101 / 102 / 103 ( Student needs to select one - Reading the classID from classes table)
2) Choice -2: 101 / 102 / 103 ( If student selects 101 in Choice-1 then the only classes available under Choice-2 should be 102 or 103).

How can I accomplish the above? Further to this there are two fields on the form where I would like to auto populate based on what they have selected in Choice-1 and Choice-2.

For Example:
If a parent selects choice1: 101 the child Choice1 field should autopopulate with 100.
If a parent selects Choice2: 201 the child Choice2 field should autopopulate with 200

How To Check If A User Didn't Leave The Website

May 14, 2011

how to check if a user didn't leave the site.Ofcourse you can use the Onunload() or Beforeunonload() function. But some browsers like Opera and Safari and who know what other browsers don't support it. And I don't want to have false information about users still being there while they left.Is there any other alternative? Like expecting server side each X seconds a AJAX request from the user?If the user doesn't send a request, the user has left.

Referencing Values On A Drop-down Menu

May 8, 2006

I have managed to write a working script to add together two values and display the total. I need to advance from that stage and now I have a 'quantity' box and a drop-down menu with a few options on it, each relating to a price. I am trying to take the quantity entered by the user and multiply it by the price they select from the drop-down and display it in a third box. So far I have:

two = document.autoSumForm.value from menu.value;
document.autoSumForm.total.value = (one * 1) + (two * 1);

How can I rewrite the above to account for the different choices a user can make on a drop-down menu?
