I am developing a small app in Joomla! where I need to sequentially number file folders. On the page where I add new folders I have a select menu to select the type of folder. In this case, either Action, Reference, or Archive. What I want to have happen is after I select the type of folder, I want to enter the next available number in the form field. I realize to do this without resubmitting the page I need to use javascript and onchange. The problem is I am almost clueless when it comes to javascript (I am working on it though) so I need some help. This is what I have.
I need to pass user input from a form to one database field. I'm relatively new to JS but the idea I had was to have several form elements and use JS to collect the users input and send all the values through a hidden element. What's happening is the variable names are being sent rather than the values. The code below is only passing to the next page. Limitations: I am editing an intranet site built by a 3rd party so a lot of the files we've been given are encrypted. I cannot change the method to post.
The problem is that the height of the second level menu results in their being gaps in between each menu item so that as you move your mouse down the second menu items it quickly closes again. scripting novice fix this by telling me which variable I need to change either in the Java script or the CSS files.
I want to pass a value received through the Url to another screen with new data by a form using the method="get". I have tried several different ways, my latest attempt was to use a hidden field hoping that would add to the url string but it isn't working.
Ok, so I am working a project where one of the last parts is to have a hidden field in the form to pass the product id with everything else in the url parameters. As of right now I have it setup to grab product info for an external file and display on order_form.html(function addprod on line 29), in the h4 tag(line 250) is where the 'prodid' is displayed, I am needing to see if there is a way to get that value put into the hidden field(line 260) to be passes along.
I am looking to build as basic as possible, a form that has 3 select dropdowns that have predetermined options. The user will select the first option and based on that option the second will populate and based on that, the third one will give the last option. Now, when the last one is selected, i need a div or a paragraph displaying information to be displayed. So here's the framework.
Option 1 = fruit or vegitables of which fruit is selected is selected by the user Option 2 = Apples, Grapes, and pears of which apples is then selected Option 3 = Red, Green and Yellow of which Green is selected.
Once green is selected, I need a description about the green aple to be displayed.
I have an HTML contact form on many different pages of a web site. I need to know which page the user was on when they submit the form. I need to pass the URL of the current page as a hidden field through the form when it's submitted. Do I need to add javascript to the header to call a function pulling the URL and then a secondary function to place it in the hidden field's "value" attribute?
Basically the user would see a button on a form that would be something like "add contact"...then a window opens that shows a search window (want to implement something like [URL]) and it would show all the contacts available in the contacts table...then the user selects the contact to add (via a link).
I think i could get it this far, but how would i then pass that $row to the main form so that i can use the fields from that $row in the contacts table on my form?
I have a program that calculates change and added a function to determine what currency that should be dispensed based on the change.Right now with my code as is, the calculate change portion works, also if I manually enter a value into the change field it will calculate the currency to be dispursed. My problem is I can't get it to read the value passed to the currency field from the calculate change portion. Here is my code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <meta name="Content-Script-Type" content="text/javascript">
I have a form with a dropdown and input field: <form1> <select name="warranty" id="warranty" onChange="doadate()"> <option value="Select">Select</option> <option value="In Warranty">In Warranty</option> [Code].... But it's not working, it stays disabled after load even when the DOA is selected in the dropdown form field.
I have a form where a user may select a box from above which will query the database and autofill in the fields. This works properly for all of my input text fields but I have a select box where a user selects their state that I am unable to get to properly populate.
The select box is populated on page load in the following format....
Everything populates correctly except where I try to set the val on the state select field. It does not change at all. I need it to display the statename with the value of the state (number).
I'm not sure if my term usage is correct, but using a select form field with various options. I would like that when an option is selected, a php query is performed, and the rest of the form is updated according to the selection based query.
I have a form with a number of <select> fields, some of which require additional fields to be displayed/enabled depending on which <option> is chosen. For example, in the following code, I'd like a <textarea> field to be displayed if users choose the 'Other' option:
<label for="venue_type"><p>What type of venue do you require?</p></label> <select name="venue_type" id="venue_type"> <option value="null">--Please choose--</option> <option value="Meeting/Training/Seminar room">Meeting / training / seminar room</option> <option value="Computer Suite">Computer Suite</option> <option value="Examination room">Examination room</option> <option value="Lecture theatre / auditorium">Lecture theatre / auditorium</option> <option value="Other">Other type of venue</option> </select>
I'm guessing that it's possible to do this using onchange, but am not too great with Javascript .
I have a form with two select fields (facility[] and lightbox[]), along with a few other text inputs. Both of the select fields allow the user to select multiple options. This is fine for our needs, as long as the user only selects fields from within one select box. As soon as the user decides to make a selection from the other select field, I'd like to permit that, but clear all other selections from the first field.
I'm using jquery validation plugin but i don't know how to do a thing:I'd like to enable a text field after selected a value from a selection list. The select field is this:
I need to fill a form field when I click on part of region map. I think that jquery is solution at this issue but i don't know how it work. I'don't know how to join map to form field.
Is there some example js that shows how to populate a text field on a form, based upon what option is chosen in a select form field? The options can be hardcoded and it would be great to also have a default if js is off on the client side.code...
i am trying to pass text from one select box to another select box. The logic is if 10 are added, no more passing must happen. Also if an item is already added, it mustn't be added again.I am using the for loop to check the existence of an item but it is not working: what am i doing wrong?
Code: function PassSelectValues(){ //pass values from select boxes to select boxes var counter;[code]....
why isn't counter incrementing at all? The alert message box does appear saying item exists but the item gets added anyway.
I have a web form with several fields. If I copy & paste from a RTF document into a field, the javascript validation and field length are bypassed and cause the form to fail.
I have several pages that work as expected - a bottom_menu.js script writes some links to the document, and thte results are centered. Then I had to mod a page because I had only 11 items rather than 12. Now the bottom_menu.js script results ends up left justified. How to make the results be centered.
I have a PHP script that searches a database and outputs the results in a table with several TD's. The user can select a radiobutton and press a button to edit that record. I need a JavaScript to do this :
Highlight the entire row when the mouse is over it (using in-line class). Un-highlight when the mouse exits it (in-line class again). Allow the user to select the radio button by clicking anywhere in the row Highlight the selected row (with another in-line class) My scripts endlessly have problems. Below is a small sample from the table...
A non-highlighted row is class "tcell" a highlighted (mouseover) class is "rhtcell" a radiobutton selected class is "selcell" <table align="center" border="0" width="1000" class="stable"> <form method="post" action="index.php">
so, the pseudo code: - on change of input contents, check to see if two input fields are set - if set, update a third field with "loading..." text and a loading gif - use ajax to send data to a url, and get a calculated json response - update the third field with the calculated response
I know I'm getting the correct response, according to firebug: {"pace":"10:00"}
