View 2 RepliesI'm making this ajax call:
Code:
url = "/GeoAdaptaApp/geoLogger/logGuiEvents?json="+aLotOfJSONStuff;
encUrl = encodeURI(url,"UTF-8");
new Ajax.Request(encUrl, {
method: 'get',
onSuccess: this.sendQueueToServerSuccess( this,logConsole ),
[Code]...
The JSON string seems correct (I checked it with a validator) and it worked on an Ajax.updater (but i need a request now). Firefox keeps telling me:
[Code]...
The call always end up in the onFailure block. Full request here: [URL] It's very strange, Is there a better way to pass json objects to the server?
I have to pass string entered in the input text to server method calling through jquery ajax. But its not going through.

I am using PlainAjax. [URL] Here is my code and it is not working if i called from Javascript function.
<script type="JavaScript" src="plainajax.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" >
function openWin()
[code]....
But i am not able to get any value in my php program. or is anyother way to pass the variable from Javascript (except pass thru url query string, this is not secure)
how do i pass values back to javascript from the server via ajax? I don't want to pass entire html. Is there any way to simply pass a JavaScript object or an array without stuff like xml and json? I could probably do an eval() on the result to convert it to a javascript understandable array, but maybe there's a more clever way to do that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt is possible to make a script that hides the element clicked and this way hide the items I want.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to write a script that will be loaded from one server into a website on another server. This script is trying to talk (ajax) to the server that it comes from but I'm getting "Access Denied" errors. I'm well aware that cross-domain calls are not allowed for security reasons so my question is how does Google Analytics work because essentially thats what I'm trying to accomplish. I can embed a Google Analytics script into my website and it'll gather data and send it back to Google.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd been looking for some way to get server date/time without using any server side script (such as ASP, PHP, etc).
I found this and it worked just excellent for me! I just want to share it because it wasn't easy to find.
I created a js document with code:
Code:
Now, I can use this js within a html like this:
HTML Code:
You may change your machine date/time and check both dates.
When the page loads there will already be a drop-down on the page, here's an example of the drop down.
<select id="dropdown">
<option value="2121S">Option text</option>
<option value="2122S">Option text</option>
<option value="2123S">Option text</option>
<option value="2121A">Option text</option>
<option value="2122A">Option text</option>
<option value="2121K">Option text</option>
</select>
On page load it will evaluate this drop-down and repopulate it determined on their values. If there is an S in any of the values the drop-down will generate an option for 'S' like so.. <option value="s">S Option Text</option> And for the first code example in this post - the Javascript would be able to repopulate the drop-down with the following:

I have a web page that displays records from a database. I want to
allow the user to specify his own "page size" - that is, the number of
records to be displayed on a given page. I have a place set up for him
to enter a value and save it to a cookie. My problem is, I can't
figure out a good, simple way to pass that value back to the server.
The page is accessed in various ways: it's first viewed by selecting
it from a javascript menu. Then the page itself contains a form with a
series of buttons that allow the user to jump to a specific page above
or below the current page. There are also "sort links" at the top of
the columns of data which refresh the data sorted in a different way.
In all of these cases, I will need to pass the page size back to the
server.
I tried storing the page size in a hidden input field. This works but
it's not available on the first request (from the menu). I thought
about passing in the value as a query string (mypage.htm?PS=123) but I
can't figure out how to attach the value to all of the various
requests (menu, form and links).
I have an "offline" html demo of 50+page - so it needs to run on standard html/javascripts... I'm trying to do this:

I've searched for a couple of hours already and I just can't seem to find this... I'm not that great at javascripts
I know at this point is that these is a difference in the array formatting between PHP and JS. The magic bullet is supposed to be json. However, this code does not work as advertised.
[Code]...
The variable $prt is list of associative arrays, so to get a value in a particular row manually , $prt[0]['location'] should give me the value for location in the first row of output. All of this works just fine if i hard code this in html and php. However, I want to dynamically produce the rows as needed which requires that a loop employed. The application also requires that the user may add a row which also need to be accounted for when posting.
I think the best solution is to make this a totally javascript entity. All I need to do is to be able to pass in the server side data. Calling JS from PHP does not work, although i have found many places where they show basically the same code , claiming that it works. think json needs a bit of tweaking to make this happen, but i'm not sure how to proceed.
i am trying to pass text from one select box to another select box. The logic is if 10 are added, no more passing must happen. Also if an item is already added, it mustn't be added again.I am using the for loop to check the existence of an item but it is not working: what am i doing wrong?
Code:
function PassSelectValues(){
//pass values from select boxes to select boxes
var counter;[code]....
why isn't counter incrementing at all? The alert message box does appear saying item exists but the item gets added anyway.
how to set a variable depending on the link that is clicked than pass it to php.It's for a rating plugin - The links will be numbers 1 - 5 and need to pass the integer to php when clicked.. in background.I am assuming I would use "XMLHttpRequest" so I can reload - send variable, and display in the background.Then in php have something like $vote = GET_(vote).

I am trying to update some values on the page when an img is clicked. There are many img tags on the page. I am not sure how can i determine which one is clicked.
Do i have to add an onclick event to my img tags with some id parameter or is there a possibility to detect which element is clicked on the page without calling a function?
I have several <a> tags with the class 'a-menu-description', and an equal number of divs with the class 'menu-description'.
I am trying to get it so that only one div opens for the appropriate <a> tag, but when I click any of the <a> tags, all of the divs open up.
Here is my code:
Does anybody know what I can add in so that only the div associated with the <a> tag opens as opposed to all of them?

I am working on a little project with fullcalendar but while writing some callback functions stumbled upon an issue: Fullcalendar generates html that looks like this: <a><span></span><span></span><span></span></a>.
Now there is an eventClick callback that is fired when clicking on that <a> element. However, in that callback I would like to know which <span> element was clicked.

I'm having some problems understanding the append() function. What I'd like to do is select an element using it's ID and add a row to the table with a HTML form element. The table is dynamically generated using a Django template ( form.as_table() ) so I'm not able to alter the original HTML markup too much.
If I had a table like this...
I'm using the Microsoft Virtual Earth Version 1 Commercial Control.
I want to make it so you can click on a pinpoint that's plotted on the
map and all mouse events are passed to the map so that the user can
click anywhere on the map (including the pin points) and drag/zoom the
map around.
For those of you who haven't used Virtual Earth:
Basically, there are a bunch on absolutely positioned Div elements. I
basically want to pass all mouse events from one absolutely positioned
div element to the absolutely positioned div element directly beneath
it.
Let's say I have a table with 5 rows;
<table id="tbl">
<tr><td>Please</td></tr>
<tr><td>help</td></tr>
<tr><td>me</td></tr>
[Code].....
Now if someone clicks on the row with content "help" (2nd), I want to catch the click with jquery .click() and know within the jquery code that the user clicked on the 2nd <tr> element within table#tbl.
If someone clicks on the <tr> with content "this", my jquery code has to return 5, because its the 5th row.
i am trying to make my custom made combobox with using jquery and ul li menus.
