i am trying to make my custom made combobox with using jquery and ul li menus. So when mouse clicked to the li element i have to read its value and set its parent to the clicked element value etc. Basic selecting method. So how can i read the clicked li element value and set that value to the parent of it. Here my structure.
I want to read clicked li element text not other one i tried var htmlStr = $(this).text;
I am trying to update some values on the page when an img is clicked. There are many img tags on the page. I am not sure how can i determine which one is clicked.
Do i have to add an onclick event to my img tags with some id parameter or is there a possibility to detect which element is clicked on the page without calling a function?
I am working on a little project with fullcalendar but while writing some callback functions stumbled upon an issue: Fullcalendar generates html that looks like this: <a><span></span><span></span><span></span></a>.
Now there is an eventClick callback that is fired when clicking on that <a> element. However, in that callback I would like to know which <span> element was clicked.
Now if someone clicks on the row with content "help" (2nd), I want to catch the click with jquery .click() and know within the jquery code that the user clicked on the 2nd <tr> element within table#tbl.
If someone clicks on the <tr> with content "this", my jquery code has to return 5, because its the 5th row.
as you can tell by the following statements, i'm new to jQueryI'm trying to do the following (in plain english) without too much success.. ) when document ready.. 2) find the element with id 'next'.3) pull / take all 'li' elements, and perform so and so, all whilst excluding 'last' element.
$(document).ready(function() { $('#next').click(function() { $('li').each(function() { //for each li ..
I'm trying to swap the class of an element when it's clicked on. Using jquery 1.6.1, here's what it looks like:
[Code]....
Now, for the sake of brevity*i omitted some other stuff that is happening when they're clicked on. The problem is that the click event for .unchecked_container is firing fine and the class is changed, BUT when clicked on again*the '.checked_container' click event is NOT firing.
I have a bar which dropdownbox so transparant, in a way that I could hardly read its text because its overlap my content text and pictures.
But its order superseed the side bar box. I could clearly read its text on the side but hardly read its text on the middle. I am using jquery which I copy from a tutorial video.
What might be the problem? I would like the text could be clearly read in the navigation bar in order word it suppose to be above the content text when I open the navigation drop down box.
Ive created this simple test page with a textarea, a div, and a button. And then this code:
function copytext() { var temp= $('#TextArea').text(); $('#emptydiv').append(temp); }
Now in a normal browser (IE, firefox), when i type something in the field, and push the button, the text appends and shows - exactly as it should.
But on a phone (I´ve tried with Iphone and htc), nothing happens. It wont copy the text. I´m using jquery for alot of other stuff on the mobile page which works just fine.
I'm trying to find the currently clicked index of .accordion_trigger from within another element.
When inside the .accordion_trigger click event I can simply do the below to get the current clicked index:
Code: $('.accordion_trigger').click(function(){ var index = $('.accordion_trigger').index(this); } return false; });
Obviously this doesn't work when called from within another element. I understand that 'this' is part of the problem but can't seem to find a way to form the code in such a way for it to produce a valid result. Thus far I only get -1 or 0.
When .accordion_trigger is clicked it has an "$(this).toggleClass('active').next().slideDown();" applied so in theory I shold be able to search for which of the .accordion_trigger's are "active".
I've also tried doing this via the below method but to no avail:
Code: var current = $('.accordion_trigger'); current.each(function() { if ($(this).hasClass('active')) {
where to put <form> tag in dynamic rows? In the below code when i write <form> tag after <BODY> i am getting weird exception. "Internet explorer cannot open internet site ;operation aborted".you can check the code in your browser.
but when i place <form> after end </script> tag then page is coming .i dont know what is the exact problem?Is it browser problem or Coding problem?. My only intention to read form elements at the server side.In the present code when i submit the page values are not coming to the servlet page where i need to read the values and insert into the database.
I'm doing a very simple expand/collapse function using 'slideToggle'. The button that triggers this event simply says 'Expand/collapse'. I want this text to change depending on whether an element is visible or hidden.
Is this possible with JQuery? I have the following code which I think Should do this, but it's not working :/These are two different functions which I've been testing, and the html element is supposed to create a dropdown list via some PHP which will have the option "Other" within it. Unfortunately, I have no idea exactly how to turn "Other" into a text box when the user clicks, and I've been spending a lot of time on this already.
Is it possible to read text from a file and then place it into a div using javascript. I read something on the Internet that I would need to have a server side language such as php or perl to do that. Is that true and if so why is that.
I have an auto running function which slides and changes content every 3 seconds.
But I also have another jquery effect which when you click, it also changes the effect, but at the moment I can't have both running at the same time as weird behaviour happens (when clicking, it changes then because 3 seconds have passed it changes again anyway).
We want a way where the user clicks to change, and the auto running function ceases until next reload of the page. code...
I have a form that, during submission to another page, uses the submitted text field data and creates a cookie. But how would I do that with a radio button/checkbox field or pulldown? Just fyi, the code is created using onsubmit() and processes this before the response page.
All demos I see are for self submitting (same page) scripts. Not for those going from form.php to response.php and I cannot use this type of submission and find a value for a NON text field. I need to recognize non text fields since I want to create cookies for all form fields, not just text fields.
The code I have, to read the value of a text field is here: var email = document.myform.email.value.split(' ')[0];
I just want to have something similar to above, using 'myform' as the form name, but able to get the value for any *non text field*
is this possible? The rest of the code I won't post as it isn't relevant. I just need to read a value of a non text field and I can work with that.
