JQuery :: .live Hover W/Prepend And Remove NOT Removing?

Looking for some assistance with using hover on externally loaded content.I have a web page with a DIV that I LOAD with an external webpage.The external webpage once loaded has a DIV that when hovered over PREPENDs items to the DIV . This part seems to be working.hen the DIV is no longer hovered over the prepended items should be removed, but alas they are not.Please take a look at the following and point out my error.

I am finding that remove() does not remove live events. I'm wondering why this is. I've also noticed that the selector for .die() has to be specificand I can not simply do $("*").die().Is there a reason for this? I found that if I use delegate instead of live then it does get detached. I'd like to understand this since it's causing double/triple event triggering in my pages.

I am looking for a way to simulate the actions of the hover (or mouseenter/mouseleave) whilst using the live method of binding (The items are dynamic). Is there a way to do this or will I need to use the 'old fashioned' method of unbinding and rebinding? I do not want to use a plugin.

The aim of the exercise is to be able to hover over a hyperlink in a dataview table and load the content of one of that page's paragraphs into a div (#notes) on the current page (I may want to load that into a tooltip later but I'll walk before I can run!) and then when I hover off the hyperlink, the loaded content is removed again.I'm using a combination of .hover and .load to load the paragraph and the first part works fine - hover on and the content from the page appears in the div. However when I hover off, instead of removing the content, it loads it again instead - so instead of an on/off effect, it just spawns more and more of the same content.
I'm not sure it matters but I'm doing this in SharePoint 07 and have put the code in a content editor webpart for simplicity. I've substituted the actual page url for 'myurl' below but in practice this part of the code seems to work ok - it's the mouse out portion which doesn't seem to work.If what I want is possible, can you see what is wrong with my code?

I have the following script which adds a touch of style to the labels that contain checked checkboxes:

If I take the script away, the css works fine. but as soon as I add the script, I need the orange part to acheive the rollover effect. Is this normal? Is there a way to change the style of an element without affecting it's onhover style?

I'm trying to retro-fit google ad-manager to an existing site. Currently, we have a div on every page and then have a header file which randomly selects an add and uses jquery.prepend to put the ad in that div. With google, we now have js code we need to use. How can we use prepend to add the js code and have it run? is that possible?

I've knocked together a simple chatroom app that gets new messages via an ajax call and prepends it to the list of messages. It does this by looking for the first hidden div with ID comment_counter, which contains the ID of the most recent message in the list that the client already has. The ajax call then makes a request to another page that returns a string of HTML with just the messages with an ID greater than the most recent one. That gets prepended to the current list of messages, the interval repeats, and so on.
The function looks like this:

I use .append() and .prepend() to automatically add content to a existing html tag with id. In IE the function is working fine but when i viewed it using view source i can't see the content. When i tried it with Chrome, i can immediately see the content. Is there something i missed out?

I am attempting to manipulate a long text string with javascript. This text string may have one or more occurrences of a string which starts with a particular string and ends with another string. So, for example, text that starts with 'nam' and ends with 'sit' in this example:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit nam aliquam leo sit amet nibh tincidunt ultricies. Nullam nam feugiat velit sit amet dui scelerisque id ornare nulla ultricies.
I want to prepend another string before the nam and append another after the sitt, to give me:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit before nam aliquam leo sit after amet nibh tincidunt ultricies. Nullam before nam feugiat velit sit after amet dui scelerisque id ornare nulla ultricies.
I think the way to do this is via RegExp, but I'm insufficiently familiar with this to know how to write the expression.

I'm currently reading jQuery - Novice to Ninja (fantastic book), and trying to understand how I can add several words to the code snippet below. I currently remove, let's say Sweden as below, but what if I also want to remove Norway?And another question, what if I would like to keep only Sweden and remove the rest from a list of twenty countries? Umm, this is a tricky one to add a descriptive title for!
Basically I have two links on the page that go to the same page when clicked. What I want to do is when I hover over one of those links for the hover to work for both of them and visa versa.

I have a function that I apply to every anchor tag in a div called listnav. I do so like this:

This,among other things, causes a function called load to be called on the href of the anchor. This works fine. Howver I want to use the live() function with this as I am going to dynamically change the links in the listnav div. I tried doing it like this :

$(el).live('click',function(ev) {
ev.preventDefault();

But that does not work. My question is how would I go about changing this function so that the actions are applied to any new anchors added to the div dynamically?

how to toggle between functions, however I because I am reloading the element that contains the checkbox I am clicking, I need to use the live function (I think).
