How do I get href links from classes & append/prepend them to some element. My attempts...& many other I can't mention

I use .append() and .prepend() to automatically add content to a existing html tag with id. In IE the function is working fine but when i viewed it using view source i can't see the content. When i tried it with Chrome, i can immediately see the content. Is there something i missed out?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to manipulate a long text string with javascript. This text string may have one or more occurrences of a string which starts with a particular string and ends with another string. So, for example, text that starts with 'nam' and ends with 'sit' in this example:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit nam aliquam leo sit amet nibh tincidunt ultricies. Nullam nam feugiat velit sit amet dui scelerisque id ornare nulla ultricies.
I want to prepend another string before the nam and append another after the sitt, to give me:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit before nam aliquam leo sit after amet nibh tincidunt ultricies. Nullam before nam feugiat velit sit after amet dui scelerisque id ornare nulla ultricies.
I think the way to do this is via RegExp, but I'm insufficiently familiar with this to know how to write the expression.
i have the following html:
Code HTML4Strict:
<div class="pagination">
<a href=".... ?page=1">...</a>
</div>
I need to append to each href some values to query string like this ...?page=1&field=xxx.
I tried this:
Code JavaScript:
$.each('.pagination a',function(){
(this).attr(href).append('&field=x');
});
but it does nothing.
I have a problem with my menu. I am trying to add and remove classes when clicking on the main menu links. For instance when on load, the 'Home' is the current tab clicked, but when I click on 'Contact Me' I would like the class current to be removed from 'Home' and added to
'Contact Me' instead.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The code im using is the one below.</div>[code]....
I need to append a session variable to all of the links on a page. Instead of manually going into each link, can jquery do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems understanding the append() function. What I'd like to do is select an element using it's ID and add a row to the table with a HTML form element. The table is dynamically generated using a Django template ( form.as_table() ) so I'm not able to alter the original HTML markup too much.
If I had a table like this...
Been trying to add an image before the closing of the anchor tag:
<body>
<a href="http://www.test.com/">http://www.test.com/</a>
</body>
If I use:
$("a").append("<img src='testimage.png' /");
No image will appear in WebKit (Chrome, Safari, etc). Firefox and IE works fine.
How do you get the first element when the element got multiple classes?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to get all the links
like
Code HTML4Strict:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osHT73lWMD0">www.youtube.com/watch</a>
I tried this
Code JavaScript:
$('a[href^=http://www.youtube.com/watch]')
I have a div with several classes on, like this:
<div class="class-one class-two special-class"></div>
I want to get the class that starts with 'special' and store it in a variable...but I am having trouble doing this...I can get as far as storing all of the classes in a variable:
var myClasses = $(this).attr('class');
...but I now need to extract just the one class that starts with 'special'...
I am fairly decent with JQuery, but there is always more to learn of course! Consider the following structure.
<div class="container">
<div id="label1">
<div class="label1_1">
[code]....
I have a 2 column page.Left nav which contains a list of items with links to their respective details page.What I'd like to do is to load that link into the div in the right side of the page.want to do this via Ajax, so I don't have to reload or redirect the page.I do have my layout coded, but my jquery code is not even close to work, so I didn't post it here.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI made this small piece of code, and I think I made it in a very drawn out way. I am sure there is a lot quicker way to do it. I want all divs to be cleared that are in a certain div. So when one link is clicked, the visible div is replaced with the new one (depending on the link)
Here is the code I have done...
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".untitled1link").click(function(){
$('.untitled1, .untitled2, .untitled3, .untitled4, .untitled5_1, .untitled5_2, .untitled5_3, .wall, .lightswitch, .detritus, .untitled6, .table, .socket, .socket2').hide();
$(".untitled1").fadeIn('5');
});
});
I just need a way to say clear all in that certain div, rather than having to name each class. I was thinking of giving each of those another class which is uniform across them all. But I don't think you can have two classes.
This can't be too hard, but I'm not seeing the answer. Elements on a web page may contain a class starting with "tr_". Sample HTML:I'm using the following to select matching elements: $('[class*=tr_]').each(function() So far so good. But now, I need to get the name of the class that starts with "tr_" from each matching element.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using this bit of jQ to add a class to two different elements based on the class of another (parent/grandparent, etc) element.
First, when there's no class at all in <div id="main-content">, the 'active' class is added to *all* the #nav-primary LIs, and also to *all* the #aux-left DIVs; how can I modify this so that in the absence of any class on #main-content, do nothing?
Second, how can I target only the first or second of multiple classes to store in the 'containerClass' variable, e.g., <div id="main-content" class="apples bananas">?
there is a function "getTable(datas)", it will return a HTML element like
"$("<table><tr><td>data1</td><td>data2</td></tr></table>");now I write a function, wanna get html tree like "<table>...</table><table>...</table>":

How can I get a list of all the css classes applied to an element?
document.getElementById("someelement");
someelement.?(classlist)... blah
I`m trying to access an element generated by append() :
i have this :
.append("<a id='delete_button_team_member' href='javascript:void(0);'><img src='_assets/images/icons/delete.png'/></a></div>");
and try to :
$("#delete_button_team_member").click(function(){alert("ceva");});
Using jquery can we grab one url and append it to empty element?
View 1 Replies View RelatedreturnSingleValue() is a Javascript function, from this function I need to access all the dynamic href values in the form. How do I do this ? I tried many options, but it didnt work out..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not completely new to JQuery, but not a beginner either. Anyway, I want to do some advanced stuff like creating everything dynamically with JQuery. So here's the rough concept:
Step 1: Information get's collected
Step 2: Information will be written in divs, the divs will get an ID and will be displayed with .append()
Step 3: Setting css-propertys with the div's ID.
I can't grab the div which I created with .append.
Actually I can't access anything which was created with .append - for example if I want to get an .attr() - I can't do it with these elements. Is there a workaround or am I wrong:
$("#site").append("<div class='container' id=' " + containerId + "'>" + containerId + "</div>");
$("#" + containerId).css({
"left" : positionX + "px",
"top" : positionY + "px",
"background-color" : "#F000FA"});
Sounds simple right? Why the heck doesn't this code work?
links = document.links;
for(var i=0; i<links.length; i++)
{
links[i].onclick= "this.href = 'whatever.html'";
}
I'm working on a project where we're using JavaScript to let users swap styles on a page. To accomplish this, I'm calling the script via href="javascript:swapcss()" on the switch styles button.
Some pages on the site have anchor links. On those pages, if someone swaps styles without hitting any of the anchor links, all is well. But if someone hits an anchor link and then hits the swap button (at this point the URL is pageid.html#anchor), the page just reloads to their anhor point without swapping styles.
Does anyone have a workaround handy? I've tried several alternatives I've found online (href="#" onClick="action"; href="javascript void(0)" ). Nothing works for this case yet. Code:
Im trying to prevent the user from clicking any other links on my page when
the user have selected/clicked a href once.
Sometimes it takes a while before the next page loads so some user will try
clicking other links or the same link.
I can prevent this when i use buttons by calling onclick and in a javascript
getElementsByTagName("input") and then check the type to be type of "button"
or "submit" which i then disable. It works.
This also works for href html tags by calling onclick and in a javascript
remove all href, BUT it also stops everything, even the request that is
about to happen.
If i use disable getElementsByTagName("a") on href like with buttons it does
not get unclickable just get a grey color but you can click on it.
Any workaround to this? This is a seriuos web app so I want the solution
where i disable ALL links on my page so it is not possible to click on any
after the first time.
All the links is NOT in a form only links using <a href="gosomeplace"> click
this link</a> .
I have this script and it's working pretty well. Except now I need it to not give the message on one single external link.
Code JavaScript:
$(document).ready(function() {
// Creating custom :external selector
$.expr[':'].external = function(obj){
[Code].....
This works on any "href" external link or link with class of "external". I have one link that needs to be added that is external but needs to appear to not be and not give the warning message.
