I'm working on a project where we're using JavaScript to let users swap styles on a page. To accomplish this, I'm calling the script via href="javascript:swapcss()" on the switch styles button.
Some pages on the site have anchor links. On those pages, if someone swaps styles without hitting any of the anchor links, all is well. But if someone hits an anchor link and then hits the swap button (at this point the URL is pageid.html#anchor), the page just reloads to their anhor point without swapping styles.
Does anyone have a workaround handy? I've tried several alternatives I've found online (href="#" onClick="action"; href="javascript void(0)" ). Nothing works for this case yet. Code:
Im trying to prevent the user from clicking any other links on my page when
the user have selected/clicked a href once.
Sometimes it takes a while before the next page loads so some user will try
clicking other links or the same link.
I can prevent this when i use buttons by calling onclick and in a javascript
getElementsByTagName("input") and then check the type to be type of "button"
or "submit" which i then disable. It works.
This also works for href html tags by calling onclick and in a javascript
remove all href, BUT it also stops everything, even the request that is
about to happen.
If i use disable getElementsByTagName("a") on href like with buttons it does
not get unclickable just get a grey color but you can click on it.
Any workaround to this? This is a seriuos web app so I want the solution
where i disable ALL links on my page so it is not possible to click on any
after the first time.
All the links is NOT in a form only links using <a href="gosomeplace"> click

When the innerText of an anchor contains an '@', the InternetExplorer
changes the innerText-Property to the HREF-Property. I have checked this
with MoZilla/FireBird and Opera and there is no problem!

View 2 Replies View Relatedtrying to make a simple web app that will let a user select from a catagory, then, when the catagory is selected, it stores the selection in a php session variable, which will be used in another sql statement to retrieve a locations list where catagory = "the stored catagory selection". The new list of locations will be displayed in a second div and each item in the locations list will also get information from the database when selected. Im able to pull the first catagory list from the database and show the div that they are displayed in using jquery and php but the new list of links will not change to show the contents of the third div.

i have a menu and i would like to change the color of the Categories which have subcategories only. In my example the basic categories are: News , Announcements , Contact and Career. Only Announcements and Career categories have subcategories. So i would like those two to turn green. My application reads an array of URLs in Javascript and displays them in a table. I need to create mouseover events for each of the links (just an alert message for now.) I have tried this a few ways, but for each one the mouseover event fires for each link before anything else is loaded on the page, and when the page is loaded, no link is displayed. Here are the two ways I've tried:

The function also produces a larger image as a background image of a div when and thumbnail is clicked on. What I want to do is have a third event, where if the user clicks the enlarged image in the div, the jQuery Fancybox loads an even bigger version of the image being displayed in the div. The problem is that the link for the anchor tag I'm using is created dynamically, and I know that Fancybox parses the HTML when the DOM is ready...unfortunately my function changes the DOM by appending the anchor tag for the full sized image. I need is using the Fancybox's options to specify the href attribute for the plugin.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a content slider called "Codaslider" (ver 1.1 I believe) setup, and using CSS I have an absolute positioned image hovering above the slider at all times. The effect is what I want, where I have a static image of my company's product hovering above the content slider, and the background images slide around showing various features and such.
I would like to make it where the customer can click anywhere within the bounds of the content slider (including on top of the static image), and be able to follow the link for the image in the content slider.
For example, if the background image shows "New Features" or something similar, I want the customer to be able to click anywhere and get to the "New Features" page.
So basically, is there a way to dynamically set the URL that the static overlaid image points to, based on what page the content slider is on?
