Apr 30, 2010if i use jquery to attach a click or keyup handler to an element, and then later remove that element form the DOM, do i need to clean up/remove the handler first?

1) are those handlers called in a particular order? can I espect to see them called in the same order I bind them?
2) is it possible for one such handlers to prevent the execution of all the other handlers?

Feb 23, 2010Looking for some assistance with using hover on externally loaded content.I have a web page with a DIV that I LOAD with an external webpage.The external webpage once loaded has a DIV that when hovered over PREPENDs items to the DIV . This part seems to be working.hen the DIV is no longer hovered over the prepended items should be removed, but alas they are not.Please take a look at the following and point out my error.

if the dt-element in one of the definition lists has a specific css-property (e.g. length > 100px) then the dd-element with the css-class "subtitle" in the same definition list should be removed.

Apr 4, 2011I'm using the following code that adds to <a> tags to each <td> inside a table.

The second half of the code looks to see if any of the cells contain an element with class 'event'. If one exists, then the '.am' anchor should be removed. However this does not appear to be happening. After carrying out a few tests with the 'alert' function, it looks as though the script thinks that every cell contains a '.event' element, but I have no idea why! Not only that, it doesn't remove the '.am' link from any of them.
Here is the markup for the table (the cell with 'Day 9' in it is the only one that should match having an '.event' element:

Oct 27, 2011I have table that has four columns and many many rows. It is quite long. I need to add a special divider (border) between each td cell. I thought I could create a css style .border_right and apply it to all td cells using jquery addClass() and then remove the class from the fourth td cell in each row so it does not add to or affect the outside border of the table.
My question is, how do I remove the class from the fourth td of each row using jQuery? I figure there has to be a shortcut way (one or two lines) to do this using jQuery so I don't have to manually add a 'class="border-right"' to each td I need it on.

Removing An Element With Dom?
Jun 19, 2010I'm working on a Wordpress site and am using a photo gallery plugin. However, this plugin, for some reason, generates an empty table row and it's messing with my layout because I'm inserting a background image for each of the "TDs". I don't want to mess w/ the core files since the changes will be gone after the next upgrade. check out these two image links to see exactly what I mean.

I know there are ways to dynamically remove elements using DOM. Would I be able to use that method here?
-edit- This gallery is paginated and I just noticed that on the last page, the last row actually contains two pictures and a " ". So, a better question would be: Is there a way to target just the td elements that have in them so I can add a display:none via css?
Removing An Element Of An Array
Jul 23, 2005I wrote a simple script to remove an element of an array but I don't think this is the best way to go about it. I have a list of about five elements seperated by ";"
I split the array using array.split(";") command and proceeded to update the elemment by assigning the null value to the arrayindex
array[index]=""
This of course assigns null to the element
But there are two problems
1. The array size is still five instead of 4 and my list is now seperated by "," with an exta "," to go.

May 9, 2011I have a JavaScript file which Adds and Removes elements when you click a button.
Adding stuff is okay, but removing elements is more complicated.
When you add an element you also add id=x. Each time you add an element x goes up one. For example if I click "add element" 5 times it would be like this:

It checks all <li> elements and save value of title and block input fields in array of objects ang generate JSON - code and input it into #code element.But when I delete one of the <li> by clicking the link, it becomes invisible for me, but function ParseMenu save it into array whatever/ What can I delete this <li> element from everywhere?

Jul 9, 2011I appended an a and select tag inside a div.
When a checkbox is checked it will append these items. Yet, now I want it where if it's not checked or the person unchecks it... then it will remove the appended elements.
How can I do this?
This is the code I have so far:

This is inside a php echo.. so don't mind the " " it's just saying it's " "
according to the code... I check with a if statement if true and remove the elements. the condition is when the checkbox is not checked. I have the same exact code to append the elements inside the div. but instead I used the .is instead of .not the hosting_Service is the input that is a checkbox.
however this code seems to work.. only for hosting_options. yet, it breaks all the code... meaning I have the if statement before this checking if it is checked... then append the elements.
well if I add the code above it dosen't allow when you check the box to append the elements inside a div.Yet if I didn't add this code and then click the checkbox it will append the elements but without refreshing the page.. if I then add this code given to above the hosting_options would only be removed and the hosting_text will still not be removed.
I was both to work properly. I want it where if you click the check box to mark it... it should append elements into the div. If you uncheck it then it should remove those elements that were appended.
