I use .prepend to add html contents in an existing html tag. When i view the source in IE i can't see the added content. I tried it with Chrome and it's working and see the contents immediately.

When I test alert() the .html() contents it appears like this. It seems to screw up the quote escape and changes " to " ;="" after the recordchecks().[code]...
So even though the source code looks perfect, if I alert() the div contents with html() it seems to get a bit garbled in the process.
I have used jquery to maek an ajax call to the servlet. the servlet is returning an HTML file, how can display the contents of the HTML file.

This chunk of code is in a .js file that is link to every pages of the site I'm working on (called via an include). I linked another .js file to all the pages of a new section I'm developping. Is there a way to override or cancel the .prepend with my section specific .js file??
There is a project called Seed which allows JavaScript programs to run on the Linux desktop. There is connected project called SeedKit which runs HTML files as a Graphical User Interface front end for JavaScript files run by Seed. It acts like a webpage which rather than linked to a web-server is linked to a JavaScript program with HTML events like buton clicks etc that drives JavaScript much in the same way as normal desktop Graphical toolkits do. It does this by looking for the first hidden div with ID comment_counter, which contains the ID of the most recent message in the list that the client already has. The ajax call then makes a request to another page that returns a string of HTML with just the messages with an ID greater than the most recent one. That gets prepended to the current list of messages, the interval repeats, and so on.
The function looks like this:

Looking for some assistance with using hover on externally loaded content.I have a web page with a DIV that I LOAD with an external webpage.The external webpage once loaded has a DIV that when hovered over PREPENDs items to the DIV . This part seems to be working.hen the DIV is no longer hovered over the prepended items should be removed, but alas they are not.Please take a look at the following and point out my error.

I have a table that displays a list of groups. You can add, modify, or remove the group. I have three functions in my JS:

Using AJAX, PHP, and jQuery, when I add a group, it posts to an "addgroup.php" file, and then returns that data in JSON format, and I then tell jQuery to display that data in HTML. Here's the problem now... The table does not render properly. There is no padding/margins. Even worse, if I Add a group, and then click the "X" to delete the group (without refreshing the page), the data posts, and returns (i get a response in my console confirming the removal), but the entry that I just added does not disappear (as it should) unless I refresh the page. When I add a group, and then view my page source and inspect the element, all of the appropriate HTML is there, but it just doesn't seem to be rendering right.
I am writing a web application and had a question regarding the best was to append values to an HTTP Post.
For my get requests, I am using jQuery to append auxiliary data using .load as indicated here:
As you can see I am sending along extra value's with my get requests that controller Servlet uses to send back the right data.
In addition to the get requests, I would like to add some extra data to my forms so that I can have Servlet controller perform the appropriate tasks.
Is the best way to do this by adding a hidden field to HTML?

I am putting the finishing touches to a custom written (pHp) article editor to allow users to publish content on a website.I have basically finished the project, and I am putting the finishing touches in with jquery widgets, such as a word counter. I would also like people to be able to highlight a section of text, then have some custom tags wrap the text (much like on this forum when you highlight a word in the message box and hit the wrap button).I would like my own custom tags to be used, such as <span class='someclass'>some entered text</span> rather than predefined ones.

After this the table will have all the contents of the array. How do I reinvoke the form to have the updated version of the array shown on the table without refreshing the whole page? The page cannot be refreshed because the data is just in an array and when I do refresh the page the contents of the array gets back to its default. Is it even possible to refresh just a part of a page, in my case a table after a button click or are there other button events I can try to play with?
We are getting a line of junk characters at the end of a page when we invoke a DatePicker call. This text string may have one or more occurrences of a string which starts with a particular string and ends with another string. So, for example, text that starts with 'nam' and ends with 'sit' in this example:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit nam aliquam leo sit amet nibh tincidunt ultricies. Nullam nam feugiat velit sit amet dui scelerisque id ornare nulla ultricies.
I want to prepend another string before the nam and append another after the sitt, to give me:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit before nam aliquam leo sit after amet nibh tincidunt ultricies. Nullam before nam feugiat velit sit after amet dui scelerisque id ornare nulla ultricies.
I think the way to do this is via RegExp, but I'm insufficiently familiar with this to know how to write the expression.
