I have an <a> tag that inside it has text. I want to select just a certain area. For example lets say we have this: <a name="product">Apple Price:$5.00</a> Lets say I have that and I want to go to this tag named product and want to just grab $5.00. How can I do that. How can I convert that to a number?
Also, what if I want to change that price to $0.00 how would you do that? does jquery do regular expressions?
I need to do all that. be able to replace $5.00 the dollar amount to any other amount.
I also do want to grab the dollar value and use it as a number. To compute the total charges. How would one do this?
My question is located here:[URL]... what I have is div 1 this div 1 has <a> tags appended to this div. It's a list of items the client selected to buy. so I have these <a> tags. I want to generate a invoice or a summary of the order and append the new <a> tags in a new div we will call this div 2.
for example lets say I have 5 apples at $1 each ordered and 3 oranges at $5 each for one order placed In div 2 I want to go to div 1 and grab the text name of the item and only grab the names once. No need to have multiple of the same item names. I will then create a new <a> tag and then append it to that div 2. Inside these <a> tag will be something like: Apple amount order 5 total $5.00 Orange amount order 3 total $15.00 Total amount due: $20.00 so in div 1 there be lots of <a> tags and you will see at least 3 apples ordered but it be listed as aseparateitem.
In the invoice or summary of the order I want to sum up the order. So I just want to let the client know your ordering 3 apples at a total of $5 for those apples. You ordered 3 oranges at a total of $15 which makes the bill to come out to be $20 dollars.
how can I grab from the <a> tag list only text that hasn't been grabbed yet. I don't want to display the word apple 3 times since there are 3 times that the client selected to order. How can jquery filter such requests. I just want to grab the text or names of the items. Then display that name once. if that name appears more then once in the div 1 then in div 2 you will say just the item name once but show how many of that item you ordered.
I am trying to grab all text between <START> and <END> and have the following bits of code, but neither are returning anything. I use JS so rarely that I can't see where the problems are -
var ermtext = response.match(/<START>(.*?)<END>/i); if (ermtext) { result.ermtext = ermtext.replace("$1");
Im a bit curious about this Facebook's useful functionality. When I paste a URL on the 'What's on your mind?' box, it almost perfectly gets the body of the article. How does Facebook do this?
i have two html files index and index1. on index javascript works but after a 1 sec or so redirects to something wired. index1 doesnt work at all.

<p>It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
I have an image that I start out with opacity = 0. Then when I rollover the image area the opacity is set to 1 so I can see the image, and when I roll off of the image the opacity is set back to 0:
This works fine. But the image has an image map that defines a small hot spot. When I roll over the hot spot the image hover state is interrupted and the image goes away. Does anyone know how I can keep the image hover state active when rolling over the image hot spot?
I'm guessing, but how you redirect to same spot on the page sounds like a js question. If so, please provide some tips to get started.I've created a long page that allows me to save form inputs as I go along, but it sends me back to the top of the page with each redirect (header('Location:http://localhost/acrobat7c.php')wink.gif. I'd like the redirect to send me back to where I was when I submitted inputs.
I built my company's website and the content portion of the site uses text with styles with relative values and the navigational part of the site uses text with styles with absolute values. The purpose of this was so that the end user could increase the size of the text on the webpage and only the content portion of the page would scale or resize but the navigation would not. This works as expected on a pc but the entire page scales on a MAC. Does MAC not support text with styles the same as pc so that the only scalable text is that with relative values (ie: small, x-small, medium, large, etc)? Absolute values conist of point sized text. How to process textbox values/ call textbox values in JS through a Java program. My text box values are dates. I have to process these dates. Like in online banking we select day to know our transactions. After submitting we get results. remember my files are in my directory only. No need of database. My files are look like 20100929, 20100930, 20101001
For epoch_classes.js, epoch_styles.css u can download coding from this link : http:[url].....
In my coding, ys, ms, ds represents year starting, month starting, starting day...ye, me, de represents end...start,end gives file names in the format of yyyymmdd.now i want to process files from 20100101 to 20100930
means from date is 2010/01/01 and to date is 2010/09/30
if i press submit button the files from 20100101 to 20100930 are processes
here ys=2010 ms=01 ds =01 and ye=2010 me=09 de= 30
For this how do i call these textbox values (from date text box and todate) to another program (java)
using js to force a specific anchor call to jump after the page completely loads. The reason I am doing this is because the page I am linking to with anchors takes a long time to load and a standard browser anchor link sometimes does not work 100%. With that said, I would now like to make the script I wrote universal to get ANY anchor param in the url and jump to that spot on the page. Right now it's coded to just look for "#anchor". I want to re-code it so it will look for "#" + "anyAnchorName".
I am building a simple t-shirt creator app for my shop and I am using the interface.js library: [URL].. docs/drag to drag/drop and re-size the graphic on the shirt background image.
Once the user has chosen a spot to put the graphic, how do I save the background image of the t-shirt with the image they dropped in the correct spot? Like, to merge the two graphics in place?
I have 4 text boxes that are supposed to load 4 seperate values of data from one field in one table from a database. The field is called interface_cropsettings (from the interface table) and these values have been concatenated and comma seperated in this field.
Code:
Once the form is filled out and saved, the data is inserted into the database and the values from these 4 text boxes are concatenated, comma seperated and inserted into that one field correctly.
(Example)
If the 4 text boxes have the following values:
In the database field they become:
However, if the form is closed and then re-opened, each text box displays the entire database field rather then each value seperated in the corresponding text box.
(Example)
All 4 text boxes display this:
I already know why the data appears like this in the form, my problem is that I'm not sure how to write the javascript to seperate the values into the correct corresponding fields, assuming javascript is what I should be using!
Also, this is kind of irrelevant but just in case you're wondering, this form is part of a cold fusion application!
It should open a modal everytime a link of a given class is clicked. But... it does not.
Code JavaScript: //get the url of the link clicked var url; $('a.edit').livequery('click',function(){ url= $(this).attr('href'); }); [Code]....
When a link of class .edit is clicked, the overlay covers the page for an instant, then a redirect occurs to the page that should be loaded in the modal box (instead of the page being loaded in the modal). It's probably a small mistake as I can get it working the way I want using jqm 'trigger:a.edit'. The problem with this approach is that I lose the livequery power (links from ajax loaded content won't fire jqm).
I'm trying to grab a value passed in from a URL, i.e: test.html?foo=bar And I would like to grab the "foo" entry, with the value passed in. I'm guessing this can be done, but I can't find a way?
I'm trying to use the "selectable" feature - and need to find the IDs of the DIVs which have been selected. When I run the code below, all I keep getting is the ID of the first DIV in the selectable DIV (ie. 2011-01-01).
As a recent convert to jQuery I'm getting to grips with the jQuery autocomplete plug-ins which are available. I thought I'd replace some of my combo boxes with these as they'd be very useful and make life easier for my users.
I can understand how they work and how the values returned can be passed on via my forms, however, whilst I'd like my users to see meaningful results in the list of the autocomplete, I would like to pass on an ID for that field entry during form submission, rather than the friendly data which they see. Is there a way to show users 'friendly' information but pass on the ID to the submission script?
I have a text file which has values in the format of "text1,text2,text3" etc what I need to do is read this text file using jquery and store the data in a variable in the head of my webpage, so something like:
I am using the load() method to load navigation sections of hidden copy, which I will later grab and display. After the hidden copy loads, I am grabbing selected divs, and bringing them into an area where the copy will be displayed. My problem is that after I load the new copy, replacing the old copy, and I go to retrieve it, it gives me the old copy still (eventhough firebug shows me that the load() actually did bring in and replace the copy...so it's grabbing and displaying copy not even in the file anymore!) Why is this happening? the code is below.link to example: http:[url]....
$(document).ready(function() { $('#showcase_holder ul li:first').addClass("in_view"); $('#project_navigation ul li a').click(function(){[code].....
