I built my company's website and the content portion of the site uses
text with styles with relative values and the navigational part of the
site uses text with styles with absolute values. The purpose of this
was so that the end user could increase the size of the text on the
webpage and only the content portion of the page would scale or resize
but the navigation would not. This works as expected on a pc but the
entire page scales on a MAC. Does MAC not support text with styles the
same as pc so that the only scalable text is that with relative values
(ie: small, x-small, medium, large, etc)? Absolute values conist of
point sized text. Code:
How to process textbox values/ call textbox values in JS through a Java program.My text box values are dates. I have to process these dates. Like in online banking we select day to know our transactions. After submitting we get results. remember my files are in my directory only. No need of database. My files are look like 20100929, 20100930, 20101001
For epoch_classes.js, epoch_styles.css u can download coding from this link : http:[url].....
Code:
<html>
<table width="900" border="0" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="10" style="padding:0">
<tr><td id="leftcolumn" width="170" align="left" valign="top">[code]....
In my coding, ys, ms, ds represents year starting, month starting, starting day...ye, me, de represents end...start,end gives file names in the format of yyyymmdd.now i want to process files from 20100101 to 20100930
means from date is 2010/01/01 and to date is 2010/09/30
if i press submit button the files from 20100101 to 20100930 are processes
here ys=2010 ms=01 ds =01 and ye=2010 me=09 de= 30
For this how do i call these textbox values (from date text box and todate) to another program (java)
I have 4 text boxes that are supposed to load 4 seperate values of data from one field in one table from a database. The field is called interface_cropsettings (from the interface table) and these values have been concatenated and comma seperated in this field.
Code:
Once the form is filled out and saved, the data is inserted into the database and the values from these 4 text boxes are concatenated, comma seperated and inserted into that one field correctly.
(Example)
If the 4 text boxes have the following values:
In the database field they become:
However, if the form is closed and then re-opened, each text box displays the entire database field rather then each value seperated in the corresponding text box.
(Example)
All 4 text boxes display this:
I already know why the data appears like this in the form, my problem is that I'm not sure how to write the javascript to seperate the values into the correct corresponding fields, assuming javascript is what I should be using!
Also, this is kind of irrelevant but just in case you're wondering, this form is part of a cold fusion application!
How can I copy the contents of a div and put it into a textarea while changing the select tags for the chosen option?Example, take the following HTML:
<select><option>am</option><option value=":abbr: title='Ante Meridium' lang='en':AM:/abbr:">Ante Meridium</option></select> going to visit the <select><option>US,</option><option value=":abbr: title='United States' lang='en':US:/abbr:">United

I have an <a> tag that inside it has text. I want to select just a certain area. For example lets say we have this: <a name="product">Apple Price:$5.00</a> Lets say I have that and I want to go to this tag named product and want to just grab $5.00. How can I do that. How can I convert that to a number?
Also, what if I want to change that price to $0.00 how would you do that? does jquery do regular expressions?
I need to do all that. be able to replace $5.00 the dollar amount to any other amount.
I also do want to grab the dollar value and use it as a number. To compute the total charges.How would one do this?
As a recent convert to jQuery I'm getting to grips with the jQuery autocomplete plug-ins which are available. I thought I'd replace some of my combo boxes with these as they'd be very useful and make life easier for my users.
I can understand how they work and how the values returned can be passed on via my forms, however, whilst I'd like my users to see meaningful results in the list of the autocomplete, I would like to pass on an ID for that field entry during form submission, rather than the friendly data which they see. Is there a way to show users 'friendly' information but pass on the ID to the submission script?
I have a text file which has values in the format of "text1,text2,text3" etc what I need to do is read this text file using jquery and store the data in a variable in the head of my webpage, so something like:
var data = everything within textfile.txt
I am using the SVG plugin. I have a simple test and I am unable to retrieve the x and y values of a text object.
$('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('x')
This returns as empty. Where as:
$('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('fill')
successfully returns the fill value.

var obj = svg.text(50,50,'Some Text',{id: "objID1", fill: "#FF0000", fontFamily: "Arial", fontSize: "24"});});
$(function() {
var svg = $('#svgCanvas').svg('get');
var string = 'fill = ' + $('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('fill') + '<br />';
var string = string + 'font family = ' + $('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('font-family') + '<br />';
var string = string + 'font size = ' + $('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('font-size') + '<br />';
var string = string + 'x = ' + $('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('x') + '<br />';
var string = string + 'y = ' + $('#objID1', svg.root()).attr('y');
$('#svgAtts').html(string);

I want to send three text box values to server using jquery ajax. problem is that, i dont know the exact syntax to send three data. When i try sending one data(also change no.of parameters to one at server side method), its going good but when i try to send three text box values, its giving jquery error:"Internal server error". I think I am not sending data in correct way. Example below contains only two sending data, because i was trying to send 2 data first.
Below is the code:
function testCAll() {
$.ajax({
type: "POST",
url: "dbTest1.aspx/SendMessage",

Was just wondering how I can sum values from different textboxes,..
I used "+" but this adds the values together rather then creating a sum of
them.
e.g.
var x = document.clear.field1.value; (e.g. 10)
var y = document.clear.field2.value; (e.g. 11)
var sum = x + y (that comes up with 1011) rather then 21.
How can I add them together so the result is 21?
[code]
function updatesum() {
document.form1.totalfat.value = (document.form1.satfat.value -0) + (document.form1.monofat.value -0) + (document.form1.polyfat.value -0);
}[code]
[icode]
<body onload="updatesum()">
<form name="form1" method="post" action="./submitFood">

I like to sum the values from the "satfat", "monofat" and "polyfat" text field into "totalfat" textfield. The values in those 3 text field is retrieve from database. However, when it add up the 3 values, it will not be in decimal place instead it will be in 30.10000000000000000000000002. How do I solve it and how to go about editing the code.
I have a function that lets me convert one character and throw an alert
with the corresponding ASCII value, but what I am having trouble with
is applying it to a text box. What I'm trying to do is when characters
are entered the function will loop through the entered values and throw
an alert for each of the corresponding ASCII values for each of the
characters entered. I am trying to alert the user for every character
that is out of the range of ASCII equivalent 1 - 128. Test code:
I have a large form, that has text boxes of numbers in rows and
columns. I need to sum the values in the columns, and put the total at
the bottom of the column. But I also need to sum the values in each
row, and put the total at the end of the row.
What is the javascript to sum the values to a few text boxes, and how
would I write the script for these totals to run all at once?
I am trying to change the script below from adding the values to subtracting without much luck.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
function autocalc(oText) {
if (isNaN(oText.value)) //filter input {
alert('Numbers only!');
oText.value = '';
} var field, val, oForm = oText.form, netincome = a = 0;
for (a; a < arguments.length; ++a) //loop through text elements {
field = arguments[a];
val = parseFloat(field.value); //get value
if (!isNaN(val)) //number? {
netincome += val; //accumulate
}}
oForm.netincome.value = netincome; //out
}
</script>
i have a button that helps me creating more than one dynamic text box and dropdownlist... how it possible to capture the values in those dynamic comtrols ?
i am trying the following but did not work ..when the code is excuted it gives me [object]
// Create Text box 1

in my webpage, i've a form which contains several textboxes and a submit button. all the textboxes are generated using php looping method.so, what i wanna do is, when user click the submit button, it will sum up all the textboxes values and pop up alert message telling the total value.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I am working on an excercise that the User puts in a Lastname, Firstname, and a score via textboxes. When the user pushes the add student score it should show up in the text area with this format " Brown, John: 92". When looking at the logic, I understand that each text box will need to be different arrays if im right, and then I will have to concat all three arrays into the format and assign it to a variable. Then assign the variable to the value of the text area. I just cannot seem to put the function together or how you would go about it. how to go about putting it together. The first code is my body of HTML I'm working with.

I'm a beginner with this stuff, so I'm not sure what sort of code I should use.
Basically I want users to put in words and every time "x" letter goes in, I want it to turn into "y" when they hit a button.
I think arrays would be a good way to go, but I'm not quite sure how I'm going to make it translate S:
Im trying to access a string in a textbox which Is located within an iframe on the parent document but the iframe is linked to a source html file.I know of document.getElementById('textbox').valueBut because its within an iframe which is getting its data from another html file Im having difficulty.

I've a page where I'm calling record from Database. Each record has an
ID and a text box displayed on the page. When the user fills in the
values of a text box, depending on the values of the text box i've to
do some further work. For eg. I've to add two records if the textbox
value of 2 records is same.
I'll try to create an example here
<-----this is from the DB-------> <-----this is form field--->
ID Task Hrs text box
1 adsfsd 1 a <---- user fills this
2 asdf 1.5 b <---- user fills this
3 eyst 2 a <---- user fills this
4 dghjfghj 2 c <---- user fills this
5 xdfb 1 b <---- user fills this
6 tyety 1.5 c <---- user fills this
________
| Submit |
--------------
So the user has to add hrs of those boxes for which have same values
entered by user. such as adding hrs of record 1 and 3 since both have
"a" entered by the user, adding record 2 and 5, as both have "b"
entered by the user and so on and so forth.
The following is a popup form that works exactly as I want but I now
need to get the values of each text box added when a user clicks the
'Add' button and pass the values back the opener form into a textarea.
