JQuery :: Passing ID Values To Autocomplete Text Box?

As a recent convert to jQuery I'm getting to grips with the jQuery autocomplete plug-ins which are available. I thought I'd replace some of my combo boxes with these as they'd be very useful and make life easier for my users.
I can understand how they work and how the values returned can be passed on via my forms, however, whilst I'd like my users to see meaningful results in the list of the autocomplete, I would like to pass on an ID for that field entry during form submission, rather than the friendly data which they see. Is there a way to show users 'friendly' information but pass on the ID to the submission script?

I have spent the last week trying to figure out how to do the following: User types some text in a text box. The autocomplete queries a php script that returns JSON of matched values. I have got thedrop down list to show these values but I cannot for the life of me get the matched characters to turn bold. For example, if the user types in "rav" and my list contains:
RAVEN
RAVE
RAVEL
then I want it to appear as
RAVEN
RAVE
RAVEL
My current JS code is as follows (along with HTML):

Does anyone have a library or patch to call a handler if a user leaves an autocomplete field without choosing one of the autocomplete options - i.e. they've entered free text. I'm working with an app that populates multiple fields from a single auto-complete value, and our latest requirement is to clear out a bunch of fields if the user's entered something manually - rejecting autocomplete suggestions. My initial attempts at hooking into onkeyfoo and onblur haven't lead anywhere productive, and I'm hoping someone else has managed to overcome the gnarly event and timing dependencies involved with onkeyfoo and blur being used for standard autocomplete behaviour.

I'm working on a site and for my login area, instead of using labels for the textboxes, I wanted to just put default text in there.
The JS that I am using is supposed to only enter the default values in the textboxes if they are blank. Unfortunately, I think the JS runs before the browser puts the "auto remember" stuff into the boxs, so the JS will always put the default values in the boxes.
The problem is that, when its time for the browser to enter the auto remember stuff, it sees that there is already stuff entered, so it doesn't enter the previously-remembered login information.
I'm pretty sure that what I'm trying to do is possible, but maybe I'm going about it the wrong way. Could somebody suggest the appropriate way to do this? code...

I have a phpsubmission form that I am passing the values to another php page that inserts the field values from the submission form. So I added a JQuery function on my submission page like so.

I have a question here, I have a mother page of 2 divs, one for the category list of foods on the left and the right div is a placeholder for the selected food of the category,
Then i have a modal box, which loads the list of foods associated to the category when clicked,
What i wanted to do is, when i select a food from the modal box and click submit, I wanted to populate the selected food into the right div of the mother page, so far the farthest i went is loading the list of food into the modal window,
its like a shopping cart, but instead of redirecting your users to another page, you display all their orders on the same page... can this be achieve, im using jquery+php sessions

I have tried to search for the answer to this, but came up empty. I am writing a form checker (and submit) in jQuery, and am testing with Chrome. Once I do my validation, if all is ok, I simply submit the form using...

and here is my form tag.

In IE it works fine with either POST or GET methods in the form tag, but in Chrome it will only work with GET.When I try to use POST, the form does submit, but I don't get any data sent to the page at all. The only thing I am doing different than usual, is the form does not have a submit button. I am using a "button" tag and using jQuery to capture the click event. <button type='button' name='courseSubmit' class='blueButton'>Save Changes</button> why the POST isn't sending the data in Chrome? Simple workaround is to change it to a GET and it will always work, but I see that as a bandaid fix, and not really a solution to the problem.

On my main page, i m having a link for a page which lets user to upload
files to a server.
On the main page itself, i am also taking some other information from
the user. Then i am mailing that data to some other user. The problem
is, i want to email the name of the file that is uploaded by a user
along with the other details. I am able to send all the details which
are entered on the main page, but how do i send the file name which i

Recently I decided to branch out and learn some Javascript on my own. I'm getting the following error: Uncaught ReferenceError: array is not defined
I don't quite understand why I'm getting this error, as I've created the array in the function showPrompt and it seems as though it's being passed around correctly. However, I believe the problem is with generateBoxes, specifically this part here:
onclick=\"getValue(array, i)\"
(line 39)
Removing array from the function parameter seems to make it execute, but beyond that, i'm lost to what is wrong.

I need to make an online payment ( external online payment provider � different domain ) through the IFRAME. I am using ajax and it seems that it is not possible or desirable to open Other sites through ajax and it also does not go with simple GET or POST to pass the data.

I have designed a simple AJAX form which retrieves information from a MySQL database using PHP/MySQL/AJAX. Here is the code:

My question is, once I retrieve the information I would like to pass the information (AuxBarcode, DeviceType) as hidden fields to an HTML form. How do I do that? The purpose of this being, we have a form where some information needs to be retrieved from a MySQL database and once retrieved it needs to be passed with the other elements of this form. I just need to understand how this works before we implement it on a full fledged script.

I built my company's website and the content portion of the site uses
text with styles with relative values and the navigational part of the
site uses text with styles with absolute values. The purpose of this
was so that the end user could increase the size of the text on the
webpage and only the content portion of the page would scale or resize
but the navigation would not. This works as expected on a pc but the
entire page scales on a MAC. Does MAC not support text with styles the
same as pc so that the only scalable text is that with relative values
(ie: small, x-small, medium, large, etc)? Absolute values conist of
