I've set up two buttons to dynamically load in content. However for some reason the content only loads on the first time you click a button. The transition function does receive the correct variables however. The fade0ut animation also doesn't take affect whilst the replaceWith() function is inside the transition function.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been messing with this code to make a fade in animation with setTimout. The only thing is addition isn't working on the fade in. A subtraction on a negative works though. This seems strange to me.
changeit.style.opacity -= -0.01; works but when it's changed to changeit.style.opacity += 0.01; there's no fade in. It's the only thing I change. My intuition says to me it should work with addition, but maybe there's something I'm not understanding.

So I guess this is very simple. On hover my <a> within .nav li fades out back and forth. How would I 'hold' this across my entire website. Do I simply include JQuery in every page (if my page does not use any CMS like Wordpress). Is there a way to hold this menu across my entire site?
I've got an image for the Name & Email field in a form I've made. On click, I've got the images fade out, and replaced with the text field. The problem I have, is having the cursor go in the text field. I know it works if the text field was there when I click on it, but because clicking causes an event to put it in, it does't act like I clicked on the text field. So what I'm looking to do is at the end of the replaceWith(#name_field), I want it to simulate a click so that the cursor would automatically be in there.

I have just added a jQuery fade plugin onto a page to automatically cycle through images in an unordered list without a click event. It works well but when I preview the page with JS disabled all images become visible and it messes up the layout. What I need is a method that works when JS is disabled. I have seen methods where the {display:none} CSS styles are applied then changed via JS but can't figure this out. If anyone can either recommend a decent plugin with provisions for JS disabled browsers
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm developing a site in HTML 5 and SVG, just for the heck of it. I have a portion of the site that uses the <embed> tag to load a new SVG when you change pages, which, in theory, would let me do effects between pages. However, no matter what I try, there is a white flash as the new SVG is loaded into the page. So, I figured I would make the embedded area invisible until it loaded, which was no big deal. But when I tried it, the flash still happened! So, I built a pause function to wait a bit longer. It sill flashes. Anyway, 7 hours later, I've determined that the newly embedded page isn't actually being downloaded and embedded until the end of the changePage() function is reached.

My problem arises when I use this to access the portfolio section. The portfolio section doesn't seem to work. If you head over to http:[url]... , you can see how the section should render and how a person can use the scroll feature, however, when the content is loaded using jQuery, it doesn't function properly.Additionally another problem i'm realizing is the delay of the content. For example, if you are on the contact page and then click on downloads, the content will slide left and then slide back right when the content is loaded. However the problem i'm seeing is the delay in the content loading meaning that the animation will finish and the content will then load.A second or two delay. I've tested it in multiple browsers and seeing the same problem. Surprisingly the only browser i'm not seeing this in is IE6.

The helper will show before the other fieldSets have been hidden. The show animation begins about half way through the hide animation. Since both elements are occupying the same space, this makes the container jump around in size as it breifly expands to fit one under the other.
I was using the below code to fade text links in and out on hover. But the problem I'm having is that if you hover over the text a few times quickly the animation will play over and over. How to add a 'callback'(?) so while the animation is still playing it won't fade in/out again until its finished? Or point me in the direction of a better way of doing this effect. Heres the code:

They toggle the boolean value of whether the keyboard key 'e' is currently pressed. If so, when the user clicks any of the site, I have a Thickbox fading in. This works great in Firefox and Safari, but IE7 begins to fade in the Thickbox (btw, I slightly altered the thickbox code to fade it in/out) but halts half-fade until the 'e' key is released.
I was wondering if there is a way to execute a function after every animation step WITHOUT modifying jQuery core.

The images represent buttons and what I'd like to do is click on one of the images/buttons and the whole form to fade out with the exception of the selected button which merely changes it's opacity from 1 to 0.5 (to remind the user it was clicked). Here's the code I'm using:

However, despite referencing the elements in a number of ways (they have unique id's), every time I run this, $(this) won't show - the opacity is being set but it seems to remain steadfastly invisible whilst the parent div is invisible/hidden - am I barking up completely the wrong tree here ?

window.loadFirebugConsole is not a function If I comment out line 3 in code.js, the console debug runs okay, so the ready function is running okay. Even though there's a reference to Firebug, the same error occurs in Safari too. Nothing on the page loads.

I have a scenario where the user can click a delete button to remove a dynamic element from the page. Whent he button is clicked I want the element to slide up and then be removed from the DOM. I can't make this work however. I can either slide it up or remove it. how to force the remove function to wait until the animation
is complete?
