JQuery :: Function Run During Animation
Oct 7, 2009I was wondering if there is a way to execute a function after every animation step WITHOUT modifying jQuery core.

View 2 Replieshow can I make a function work on an element while at the same time the animate method is applying to it?
as example, I want to make an element that change its height and his background position move by 100px every half a second.
I have a jQuery script (joomla plugin) and I need to add my custom function
after standard animation is completed.This is standard code from the script:
var

I have a scenario where the user can click a delete button to remove a dynamic element from the page. Whent he button is clicked I want the element to slide up and then be removed from the DOM. I can't make this work however. I can either slide it up or remove it. how to force the remove function to wait until the animation
is complete?
I'm trying to create a two-part animation: On mouseenter over a thumbnail image, the background area expands. Then, once the background has reached full size, I add a class to the text content so that it gets displayed.My problem is that the text content only displays sometimes and I can't determine why this is the case other than that it has something to do with the callback. If you roll over the thumbnails, sometimes you see some text information below the image and sometimes you don't. Why? You should always see that text information.
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".thumbs").delegate(
'li',

I have a slogan that is supposed be animated so that one part slides onto the screen, followed by the other part. My understanding of the 'callback function' parameter on the .animate() function is that it's not supposed to execute until the animation is finished. The trouble is, the two functions seem to be executing at the same time (that is, the two parts of the slogan appear on the screen at the same time.) Here is my code:
$(document).ready(function() {
// hide slogan text $('#slogan_1').css('left','270px');
$('#slogan_2').css('top','75px');});

I've set up two buttons to dynamically load in content. However for some reason the content only loads on the first time you click a button. The transition function does receive the correct variables however. The fade0ut animation also doesn't take affect whilst the replaceWith() function is inside the transition function.

I have a button which is animated with a rollover effect, obtained through jQuery of course. I wish to open a lightbox clicking that button and I tried with a simple, self-made lightbox and with FancyBox but in either case the lightbox is displayed without animation.I post the code for my buttons and the lightboxHTML for buttons:
<ul> <li><div id="fader0"> <div class="from"><a class="products" href="#inline"><img src="images/tabproducts.png" alt="Our products" /></a></div> <div class="to"><a class="products" href="#inline"><img src="images/tabproductsHover.png" alt="Our products"

Take a look at this new JS function I made. It is really simple but
very powerful. You can animate any stylesheet numeric value (top left
width height have been tested), and works for both % and px values.
Works in both ie and firefox. Code:
I'm trying to graph line with a delay between each line drawn - my code is:
var jg = new jsGraphics('Canvas');
jg.setColor('maroon');
jg.drawLine(40,130,80,120);
setTimeout('jg.paint()',10000);
jg.drawLine(80,120,120,110);
setTimeout('jg.paint()',10000);
Unfortunately it draws all the lines at the same time i.e the setTimeout function doesn't like the paint method.
What I want to do is have 5 <div>s displayed in a fixed position on my page. The divs will contain text and pictures. Only one div is displayed at a time, and every 5 seconds, the next div slides over the top of the current div (from right to left) until it is completely obscured. At the conclusion of the fifth, it starts again with number 1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTrying to click (onClick) an animated gif image of an on/off switch to start a second animation which is located on a different location on the web-page (a 7-frame animation of a generator with moving parts) immediately followed by a random image selection function placing an image in a 3rd location on the page (next to the generator image). The random images are supposed to look like the result of the generator animation---the item that pops out of the generator.
We thought the process to achieve this would be an OnClick on the on/off switch-animated-gif to start two javascript functions (generato animation function & random image function). To further complicate matters, we are doing this website in iWeb. Were using iWeb SEO Tool to add the javascript to the header and HTML snippet in iWeb to place the HTML code. Not sure were actually doing the snippet right though---is it supposed to relate to the images---or is it separate? When the gifs are place on the iweb page, they work in the browser upon page load---the on-click & the random image function are NOT working...so we know weve done something(s) wrong.
Were thinking that were probably missing some code that describes where the 3 different image-spots are on the page (image #1 is the on/off switch gif, image#2 is the generator gif, image#3 is the generator output.png)....or just arent coding the string of functions correctly---or maybe our strategy for achieving this is just no correct (?).Here is the code we have tried that didnt work.

<!-- Hide script from old browsers

I've been messing with this code to make a fade in animation with setTimout. The only thing is addition isn't working on the fade in. A subtraction on a negative works though. This seems strange to me.
changeit.style.opacity -= -0.01; works but when it's changed to changeit.style.opacity += 0.01; there's no fade in. It's the only thing I change. My intuition says to me it should work with addition, but maybe there's something I'm not understanding.
<html>
changeit.style.opacity -= -0.01; if this is set to changeit.style.opacity += 0.01; it doesn't work. What?
Of course this is all just for Firefox for now. If I put this in something useful I'll change it so it'll work in other browsers later.
iam either being really dumb or something is way wrong with the code. i am trying to create a fade in / fade out effect. i know there are tons of scripts out there that do this, but i like to do it myself. my script is only working in firefox at the mo (when it works il cater for other browsers). basically i can get the fade out part to work, but when i want to fade back in it does nothing. now logically id of thought that fading in would be the same as fade out but reversed.

I am trying to go to a URL after an animation. This is what I have now:
$('a').click(function() {
$('#content')
.stop(true)
.animate(
[Code].....
What should I put in the function, so that I can wait for the $content animation to complete and then go to, for example, [URL]?
<!-- html code -->
That is my code. Whenever the Left link is clicked I wanted to move both images to the left while shrinking the one image. If you view the html, the two images are centered and are equal sizes. When the Left link is clicked, the final result is what I want it to look like. My problem is, the animation. The image jumps to the corner of the containing div and resizes. I need the image to stay on the bottom and I need the image to resize from the top-right corner rather than the bottom-right.
I am animating a slider.I am using setInterval to loop the animation.This works fine...However...If you open a new tab, or minimize the browser window... when you come back the animation speeds up for a bit and then slows down again...Any ideas why this would be?...I suspect that while the browser window is not active it stores up the setInterval functions and then runs them at once when the window is active... speeding up the animation.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwanna know how we can get the animation effect using the recursion method. following is the code:

I have 2 div blocks next to each other.
Whenever the mouse enters block1, an animation is started.
Now when I move the mouse from block1 to block2, the first animation needs to stop and the animation for block2 needs to start.
So I have a function:
and then:
The problem is now, as soon as the mouse leaves block1, the animation stops for a second before it starts the animation triggered by mouseenter into block2.
What I need is a smooth transition with no stop of the animation. Is there a way to realize that with jquery?
I'm trying to get a simple series of images to fade sequentially to create a slide show/image rotator effect. The effect works flawlessly in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and even IE 7 but for some reason nothing happens in IE 8. The slide show images don't display at all and the only thing that is visible is the default background image.If you go tou'll see the issue in (in)action (in you're using IE8).The relevant code from the page is:
<div id="header-content">

I'm trying to use scrollTo in oder to scroll vertically a div. I want to use 2 anchors, one to go up and the other to go down and I need that the effect works ONLY when the mouse is over the anchor (when I move it out the animation has to stop).How can I achieve so?
[Code]...

I have used jquery to hide and reveal the content areas of my page. The issue is that on slideUp/Down the div's right and bottom edges vanish. I don't know why?
The script I used is from:[url] I can't figure out what the instruction on his page mean.
On the page that I created:[url]
I have finally figured out how to move the description to the left side instead of on top of the image. Now I just need to turn the animation off that moves the description up and out of its box and I can't figure out how or know where to look. Here is the jquery script that I made minor changes to: [url]
I know this is possible with JQuery it is just above my current skills. I have four divs, lets say with the ids 1, 2, 3, 4. They appear as a vertical list starting with #1. What I want to happen on page load is for #1 to fade out after a few seconds and fade in at the the bottom of the list with #2, #3, and #4 moving up to fill the space. So the order would now be #2, #3, #4, #1. I then want this process to continue with #2 moving down to replace #4, and so on, an infinite loop.
