JQuery :: Define A Function With A Link Inside?
Sep 13, 2011
I have a page named A.htm
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<script type="text/javascript">
function linkbox(value) {
[Code]....
In my plans when I click on "Open 1" link in the bottom of the page, inside the div with id="pagehere" it'll appear the page www.mydomain.com/1.htm. The same fot "Open 2" link which should show the page 2.htm inside of the div tags.
Which effect can I use to do this? I am trying to use .html() but it seems it is not the right way..

I just know the form like:
myObject.prototype.linkFade = function(link, doShow) {
....
....
....
}
-----------------------
myObject.prototype.linkFade = function(link, doShow) { with (this) {
....
....
....
}
Anyone can explain this for me?
what 'this' refer to? Is it refer to myObject? It seems doesn't make
sence...

I'm new to jQuery and have a problem with links inside an accordion.
The simplified code looks like this:
<div class="active-item">
<div class="available-items">
<h5>Headline</h5>
</div>
[Code]...
The problem is, that the links inside the table are not active. If i click them, the accordion is closing What do i have to do, to keep the links inside the open accordion as normal links, without closing the accordion?

I cant link out of link inside rotating tabs. The rotation is working fine. I have no problem with it. Bellow is the index.html page with <script type="text/javascript" src="tabcontent.js"></script> wich ofcourse has the JScript that is making it work. You will see another small Jscript on the index.html page that I've been using to try to make the links work, but to no avail.
[Code]...
I hope this makes sense. If anyone wants to see the entire code let me know. Right now I just got the rotator working. I just need to make the links work. I will post it for everyone to use as soon as I get it working.getting the links going.

I am having a strange problem with a javascript function that does not return the value but returns the code inside the function. My best guess is that I am incorrectly calling the function hasLandedOn()and jquery is interpeting it. Why is this happening? I highlighted the parts in red.-Tom ReeseThe following is returned NOT the variable imageName.
function hasLandedOn(){
var selectorLoc = $("#selector").offset();
var imageName = "";

Basically we need to find a word which is inside a class and display a link.
So something like this
find a word equal to "1 line custom"
then
display this <a href="/1-line-custom.htm">click here</a>

I've just developed a plugin that mimics the combo box control, albeit it's a special one. That's being defined as follows:
function
$
{
$.fn.extend
{
[Code].....
But this isn't possible, since the $myList variable is a jQuery object. So I just defined some functions, say, $.smartList.getSelectedValue and the like... but in this approach, I've to pass the jQuery object to this functions as a mandatory parameter and this really sucks. i.e., I need to get the selected value of $myList this way:
var value = $.smartList.getSelectedValue
$myList
;

Is it possible to use ajaxSetup to define a username and password that will then be used by getJSON? I have an enviuronment where I have a web server that I'm passing a URL to for a web service call that returns me JSON. I'm doing the call via the getJSON method, and get back the data I want, except that I'm being prompted to log in and I don't want the users to authenticate. I need to provide a username and password somewhere in the URL (or additional details) and so added an ajaxSetup call right before I call getJSON to set the username and password as follows:
jQuery.ajaxSetup({username: myusername, password: mypassword });
jQuery.getJSON(url, function (jsonObject) {
//do some stuff
}
);
For some reason I'm still getting prompted for the username and password for the URL, even though they're being set. I'm working with IE6, and jQuery 1.3.2.

I have some trouble getting some javascript code implemented Its basically because I havent used much it before. Its like this:
When admin chooses to delete a page from his site via this link:
<?php echo '<a href="process_delete_page.php?pid=' . $id . '">Delete page!</a>'; ?>
Before this actually gets processed, i would like to alert admin, with a box, asking if he is sure or not, so he gets the option to regret his choise. onClick="(return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete the page?'))" Something like this, probably not correct? How can I implement that tiny bit of JS in my (PHP)link above?

I am using JavaScript for popups in my OpenLayers map. All the html tags like <br> work in the popup window except for the link href tag. Everytime I put in a link in my popup window it doesnt work:
var mystring = "here is link:<br> <a href="www.sun.com">link</a>";
popup = New OpenLayers.Popup.FramedCloud("chck", feature.coord, null, mystring, null, true, onPopupClose);
Also tried link without quotes and with ticks and nothing seems to work with the link not taking me anywhere.

I am pretty new to javascript, safe to say I have never written anything, just edited. I am trying to write this function now to replace image inside a div on clicking a link. Here's what I have so far -
Quote:
function ReplaceContentInContainer(id, source) {
var domlu = new Image();
domlu.src = "source";
[code]....
It shows up the image source instead of the image itself when I run it.

This is probably more of a basic javascript question than a specificjquery function.I have this jQuery function named validateSubmit()which calls two other regular javascript functions. When using IE,both createCharts() and getDirectorIDs get called but when usingFireFox, only createCharts() gets called and never makes it togetDirectorIDs() and I'm not sure why this occurs.
<script type="text/javascript">
// make sure at least one checkbox is checked
function validateSubmit() {

I have what I think is a strange issue but others may see something I am missing.I am using AJAX functionality to process a php script on a server and then place the output of the script into a div element.Here is the code snippet
Code:
function doWork13(typeCode,colorBlockName,objectCategory,imgID){
httpObject = getHTTPObject();
if (httpObject != null) {[code]....
This code shown here works perfectly BUT....I do not want the alert message to be there. When I remove that line of code the script fails to function. There is no error just nothing happens.The function is to replace one image with another and the variable in question is simply the ID tag of the particular image being modified.As I said it works with the alert but does not with out, could it be a timing issue in that the alert gives enough time for the if statement in the setOutput13 function become TRUE

$('#newPrice').change(function() {
this.value = this.value.replace(/[^0-9.]/g,'');
checkPrice();

Ok, so the above code will do the regex when the contents of the textbox changes, but it does not seem to call the checkPrice function I've placed after it does the regex.
I have the above on Change code in a .keyup event and it works as expected.
