I'm having issues with jquery and the tabs I'm using. My tabs work but... I want some more functions and that seems to be a big problem for a Javascript and jquery newby.
My HTML:
Code:
<ul class="tabs">
<li>Tab1</li>
<li>Tab2</li>
[Code]....
I really don't know if this is correct but it works! What doesn't work is the active class. If you use one of the buttons in the first tab you go to the right tab but the tab itself has no class called active and that ruins the style.
2)
I also have one other question: lets say that all the above is my second page and I have my frontpage in which I also have buttons. I want somebody to use the button and end up in the third tab of page 2. My link is something like
Code:
page2.html#tab3
I read that using this should lead you the third tab but it's not working for me. You go to the first tab of page 2 instead.
I've been reading a LOT! Jquery for dummies, I googled, read the forum and other forums. I posted on a Dutch forum but no answer. I've added a lot of different code but it doesn't work.

I'm using jquery to make it easy for AJAX calls.
So I create a class: function cMap(mapID){//vars and stuff}
I go and prototype a function: cMap.prototype.loadMap = function(){ //jquery AJAX call }
Now in the jquery $.ajax({...}); call, I use an anonymous function on the "success:" call: success: function(data){ this.member = data; }
My problem is that inside this anonymous function call I'm trying to call a class member of my cMap class to store the data in from the AJAX call, but it's out of scope. So the JS console in FF/Chrome throws errors about bad value/doesn't exist.
How can I access this class member from inside an anonymous function? Or at least what's a good way to go about doing all this?

I'm new to jQuery and have a problem with links inside an accordion.
The simplified code looks like this:
<div class="active-item">
<div class="available-items">
<h5>Headline</h5>
</div>
[Code]...
The problem is, that the links inside the table are not active. If i click them, the accordion is closing What do i have to do, to keep the links inside the open accordion as normal links, without closing the accordion?

This is probably a dumb question (noob) but I cannot seem to find the answer, either here or on StackOverflow or even Googling...
All I want to do is, when clicking on an element, find any other elements with the same class name (and show/hide or do something with them).[code]...
But I need the class name to be a variable so this function is reusable.
What am I doing wrong?

I cant link out of link inside rotating tabs. The rotation is working fine. I have no problem with it. Bellow is the index.html page with <script type="text/javascript" src="tabcontent.js"></script> wich ofcourse has the JScript that is making it work. You will see another small Jscript on the index.html page that I've been using to try to make the links work, but to no avail.
[Code]...
I hope this makes sense. If anyone wants to see the entire code let me know. Right now I just got the rotator working. I just need to make the links work. I will post it for everyone to use as soon as I get it working.getting the links going.

Someone submitted this script my way, and I thought I'd post it here first, to see if people can come up with improvements.
This is a find text inside page script. Basically one would enter any text into a textbox, and the script searches for matches on the page, and highlights it if found. The script can be specified to search text in another frame or iframe.
Right now the script works in IE plus NS7. I was hoping it could be modified to work in NS6 as well.

Is it possible to create a function that will find a class name or id name and then assign that name as variable string?
For example, my body has a class name:
<body class="Sunday">
I need to have a function (using jquery or just regular javascript) that will determine that class name and then assign it to a variable named bodyClass, so that bodyClass="Sunday".

I'm trying to create a list of recipes which will on document ready all be hidden except the first one. And then when I click one of the dynamically added links (in a ul) in the sidebar I want the corresponding recipe to go from hidden to shown. I've managed to do everything really simply except I have no idea how to find the corresponding recipe when I click a link in the sidebar (the links link to the recipes with #recipe<number>)
$(".post").hide();
$(".post:first").show();
$("a[href*='#recipe']").click(function() {
$(".post").hide(600);
});
Somehow I need to access the id of the specific recipe, which I suppose should be possible since the clickfunction should store that somehow?
EDIT: I just realized that I could just use the href value as my id for the recipe (since its the same e.g. #recipe). However I'm having trouble using the variable that stores the href/id in the .show function.
$("a[href*='#recipe']").click(function() {
$(".post").hide(600);
var theHref = $(this).attr("href");[code]....

i have a requirement which i would like to solve with jQuery.I need to find all LI-elements which have a # as href url. The LI's are inside an div or ul with the ID=test.Then in the next step, when i loop through this items, i need to add a class=myclass to this elements. BUT it could be that there is no class tag at all, then it needs to be created or there is already a class, then i need to add myclass additonally.
