JQuery :: Detecting Change To A Textarea When Change Not Initiated By User?
Jul 11, 2010I'm using a text area to display textual updates to a user from the server. I'm inserting the text at the bottom of the textarea and need to set the scrollbar to the bottom of the textarea after every update. The problem is that the onChange event only fires if the user actually changes something in the text area, not if it is changed by an ajax update.Does anyone know of a way to detect if there has been an update to a textarea that was NOT triggered by a user?

Mar 18, 2011I would like to change the text of an <a> element when the user clicks on it. The code that I've written is only "half" working:

Initially the text of the <a> element is "text1".
When I click on it the text is correctly changed to "text2". But if I click on it again, the text doesn't change back to "text1", it remains "text2".

Document.write isn't solution. Another important thing is that the image have to be user specified(the user is selecting image from his computer like in uploading file).

This code checks for the letter "x" to be pressed, then checks to see if the second to last letter is the letter "c". If it is, then it deletes the letter "x" and replaces the "c" with the letter "ĉ".

Change Div Opacity - Allow A User To Filter The Types Of Projects
Nov 28, 2011I'm adding a sub menu to my portfolio page that will allow a user to filter the types of projects they want to see, but I'm not really sure how to approach this. I have a variety of web design and motion graphics projects all on the same page, and I want the user to be able to "uncheck" one category or the other, and when they do, all the divs for the unchecked category will fade out. This is the page: [URL] Does that make sense? What I'm thinking of doing is applying a unique ID to the different categories, then build a little JS that will change the opacity of those specific IDs somehow. I am not a JS ninja though, and I'm thinking there is probably a more efficient way.

Sep 13, 2011I have one site that has a bunch of cool easy javascript tricks that allow the user to change the page designs and other things. I had put a lot of time, effort, and $$$ into this site, and it was where I make partial income to provide for my family. Lately, I have noticed that some browsers (Chrome) will not allow the user to paste my javascript codes into their address bar.
Example: if user pastes "javascript: alert(2+2);" into their address bar in Chrome (and some IE I have heard from visitors) it will do a google search on alert(2+2) and will completely strip the "javascript" part out.

for which they want to compare information, and then have the form

I don't get any pleasing results... in the file, there are 'quoted printable' characters that are displayed as their corresponding hex value, and their encoding seems to be in windows-1256. I've tried messing around with contentType but didn't get any results.
I cannot modify the '.eml' files, so I have to load and process them in jQuery (hopefully). So is there some sort of library or built-in function that I can use?
