I'm trying to build a pretty simple form that will redirect a user to a particular page based one the geographic location that they choose. I've actually found a pretty nifty script here [URL] but for the life of me, I can't get it to redirect a user when they hit a submit button. I can't get over the feeling that I'm missing something really simple.

I have two questions...
Question 1 How can I make this piece of script act a little smarter. Look at the order form, I'm catering for up to 4 people and providing lunch for them. If they select 3 people and the spaghetti bol for lunch, it's only adding $10 where it should be adding $30. Obviously this is simple multiplication but since the values in my form are prices it makes it a little tricky. I'm guessing an onselect on the first part of the form which changes the pricing of the other items would be the way to go, but how do I do this?
Question 2 The "Total Price" is placed before the <form> tag by the script. This is ok but it's not where I want it. How can I position this text elsewhere in the document?

I'm trying, so far unsuccessful to make a function to change the name of a hidden input based upon the country of the user, i have some php code that determines there country of origin of the user fine. I then have a small java script function to change the name of the hidden input depending on the country of origin.
The php variable that holds the country of origin is $country; that variable then needs to be assigned to x in my java script function. $country is equal to AU if your in Australia and US if your in America.[code]...
I'm trying to write a progressively enhanced web application. I have an index page and a form with some select boxes and some radio buttons on a different php page. Before enhancement occurs, the form is accessible via regular links and everything works as expected. No issues.
In the enhanced version of the application, the form is AJAXed into the index page. When this occurs, the select boxes in the form work perfectly. The radio buttons are initially unchecked and I can check one option as usual. However, once one is checked, clicking the other radio options does nothing. I am unable to check a different option.
Anybody got a clue what the problem is?
Using Chrome by the way. Firefox is the same as Chrome. In IE I can't even check a radio button the first time.

The PHP script you see there checks if the value on the server matches the value of the radio button and echo's checked="checked" if true. I thought this could be causing the problem initially but the exact same code is used in the non-enhanced version and it works fine. I tried commenting it out anyway but it makes no difference.
The only thing I can think of is that some javascript is preventing me from selecting a different radio option. That would explain why it works ok in the non-enhanced version because there is no JS there. I can't find anything that I've written that might cause this effect I'm using jQuerys form plugin on my pages. I'm going to try writing it out and see if that fixes anything.
In the mean time, is there a way I can check if any JS functions when I click on the radio button?

I built a reusable plugin for slideshows. Client now needs me to add something that will affect its reusability.The line below is a snippet which is attached to a nav button. Each slideshow has a dot per slide. When clicked I get the number of sibling that it is within the group and then I look UP the DOM to the nearest div with the class called 'slide_holder'. I then display the slide that has the same sibling number as the dot(In other words - If you click the second dot in the group of dots, then the second slide will fade in. I have a form that collects information about up to 5 items. I would
like the user to be able to select from a drop down menu how many items
for which they want to compare information, and then have the form
change the number of input fields accordingly.
In other words, if the user selects enter info for 3 items, then input
fields for only 3 items are shown, if they change it to 4 items, then a
fourth column shows up in the table with the appropriate input fields.
I am trying to pass the slection made by a user to a javscript
function using the onchange event. The problem is I can get the index
but not the actual value. As my list is variable (dependent on a db)
I cannot hard code to a static index. I either need a way to
determine the number of items in a select control or a way to
determine the actual selection made by the user.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the code to determine what option the

Here is the issue I am having: In my project, I have a index.php page with a sidebar menu and a div id called œcontent.The user can select different menu items and perform searches from the database and make updates to their account. Im using ajax to load all of the menu items and all of the forms into the div id "content" on the index page. The Forms all load into the target div as they are suppose to with ajax.
However, on the mysettings page I have two forms and two different buttons, one called save and the other called update. When a user wants to edit their account information and makes changes to their account they clicks on either button and the form processes the information and updates or inserts data into the database correctly but the problem is that after that the form or page does not display the form back in the div id "content" like how it was loaded originally in the index.php page. The problem is that it reloads or refreshes the form page without the index.php page being involved. That is does not get reloaded or updated inside the index.php page content div again.
What I would like do is have all of my forms process whatever is submitted on the page and display the results back inside the same content div on the index.php page again. I know I am missing something because all of my forms are doing the same thing. I am hoping someone can help me out. I would be very grateful for example code that I can learn from since I am still relatively new to web development. I am posting some sample code below.

I have a confirm message box which asks the user whether they wish to take a survey. At the moment the confirm box appears each time the page is loaded. Would there be a way that when the user selects OK to take the survey this is remembered, so when the users next visit the page the box doesn't appear?

Using an alert the cookie text looks fine but when I go to retrieve the values the only one it can find is the value for user. I've a few different things and none of them seem to work. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a web app where I have created a div to masquerade at a textarea so I can add highlighting according to so rules. I rely on setting designmode=true. After certain amounts of idle time my code grabs the text from the div, which consists of tags and <span> tags and re-generates the html with new spans. The paragraphs and text stay the same. So far so good. But when the div "repaints" the insertion is set to the beginning of the div. I want it to visually stay put, meaning I need to somehow record where it was before nd then restore it afterwards. Problem is, I can't seem to get my head wrapped around how selections (Ranges, etc.) work. I've been googling around for the last day or so and have not yet seen the light.

I'm using a text area to display textual updates to a user from the server. I'm inserting the text at the bottom of the textarea and need to set the scrollbar to the bottom of the textarea after every update. The problem is that the onChange event only fires if the user actually changes something in the text area, not if it is changed by an ajax update.Does anyone know of a way to detect if there has been an update to a textarea that was NOT triggered by a user?
