Jun 23, 2011In all the easing functions (based on Robert Penner), I see that they require the distance to travel to be known beforehand. But what if I didn't know that? How would I calculate the change to position based on easing my speed to zero if I know my current speed?
In other words, I know my start position, my current speed and the duration. I want to figure out the change in position (for each step and total change).
JQuery :: Filtering For A Comma After An Anchor ?
Nov 17, 2011I'm working this script below that successfully selects and removes certain anchors that contain this text "d2". There are actually numerous anchors in this TD (not div) container with different (labels for the site) text strings, each anchor is followed by a comma with a space.
So I'm removing the anchors no problem (thx to jQ) - but I still need help to remove the trailing comma and associated space after each anchor I remove. My attempts at this solution are so horribly naive I won't bother posting one.
JQuery :: GetJSON Params Not Filtering?
May 14, 2009I just can't seem to get getJSON to filter based upon the map I send in.
Here is my code:

My post in firebug looks completely right: [URL] The json is formatted properly and passes the lint test. However, I get the entire json back and not the filtered by my parameter. I have over a thousand funds, but it should only pull back about 9 bassed upon that category. Here is my working url: [URL]

Jan 20, 2010I've got a variable that holds a jQuery object. I would like to filter out all of the visible elements in that jQuery object. The problem is once I'm using a variable and not the jQuery object itself I don't know the semantics for filtering it. I have something like this:

Feb 26, 2009I use CMSMS alot and there is a drop down menu in the admin area to choose a parent item, it shows all parent items and I wanted it to be dynamic to just show top level siblings and children
I spent all day creating a jquery script to filter the list which works just fine in fire fox but IE does not support display:none on html option tags
My options are coloured white at the moment but it would be good if I could get them to disappear all together.
I have tried duplicating the object and using that as a reference and tried a global object but i could not get either to work

Aug 30, 2002I've got a PHP page that delivers MySql data into an HTML table for a To Do list. Works peachy. Now, I wanted to add a filtering tool to the table, which I've also done, and it works fine.
However, I'm dissatisfied with some of the methods I've used becuase they involve a bit of hard coding, and will make it difficult to expand on later down the road. I think you will see what I mean. There's a decent amount of code, but I want to include it all so that you may just copy>paste it and see the page as I do. Code:

Can JS Suss Out "on-site" Vs Off-site HTTP Requests?

i've got a multi-language site, where the home-page of each language group
features a link to a popup window that offers background info on site
management. the popup is fired by a javascript function, when they click
the site management link. there's also a "window close" function button so
they can nuke it as they please.
now, oddly, people who search for my site in the chinese language on google,
are sent directly to the site management popup window, which of course,
opens in their "full" browser window, and which also has no links back to
the main site, because it's meant to open only as an "accessory" to the main
site.
my question is this: is there any way, with Javascript, that I could
determine if they arrived at this window from "off-site" (ie, a google
search), and therefore offer such "off-site" visitors a link back to the
principal site, a link that would be hidden for visitors who clicked the
popup window from my own site?

JQuery :: Can't Parse JSON Results
Jan 4, 2012I am having difficulty displaying a specific key from a json file. I am trying to parse the following json file using query:

I am using this type of function to parse the data:

Using this I am able to print all the keys from the route but I am not able to print a specific key.
What I want to do is just get the results for the key "fuelUsed" using this method:

But I never get back any data that way. Am I not specifying my key correctly?

Aug 24, 2009I am pulling in an XML doc, storing it in a global var and through out the app I am transversing it to grab certain info. Up till 1.2.6 it's been working fine, but when I upgraded 1.3.2 I get bad results.

However on datepicker on www.wheels4rent/index-7.html i have datepicker on page but no results are displayed as it does not see the pu_day and pu_month and also the return dates.

Apr 15, 2010I'm using JSON/jQuery to pre populate a drop down menu. What I want to do, is once I select a plan from the drop down menu and click submit (go button), to get the details about the plan. The drop down menu get's pre populated, but I don't get anything after clicking go. I check the functions and it seems that in the DoPlanSearch() I get the alerts showing the newly constructed URL that gets me the correct JSON. But not sure what happens once the data is processed after that. I say this, because my alert statement in the DoPlanSearchCompleted(data) gets me NULL data.
I'm just getting started with this, I'm not exactly sure what's the best approach. Also, I'm not sure the way .JSON files is setup here works, it does on my Dev server though.
Code has line: function DoPlanSearchCompleted(data)
It should read function UserPlanSearchCompleted(data). The same problem though exists.

Here's where I am having problems:

The input box does not display the content of the M_ACCOUNT_NAME. I alreadytested M_ACCOUNT_NAME with simple response.write and it has content. I also tested that I am accessing the right element by substituting val(M_ACCOUNT_NAME) with val('HELLO'). HELLO is displaying correctly.
